Bound by the CEO’s Baby By Sun Scar Chapter 54
Chapter 54
“A few months before the annual party, I was going to ask you out.”
Ana’s head jerked a little. “What?” she asked abruptly.
Damien kissed her neck again, trying to soothe her. “When you first joined the company and I met you, I nearly lost my mind. It was
first wet dream since I was a teenager,” he admitted, a little embarrassed.
my
“Really?”
Damien nodded. “But I was too cowardly to do anything but treat you like my employee. And you acted like I was the plague. I waited and waited for you to notice me… to see me as more than your annoying boss, but you never did.”
“So, why didn’t you ask me out then?”
He shrugged. “It was one project after the other. I kept delaying it until I could no longer. That night at the party, you responded so well to me that I was going to confess everything. But then I got carried away.” He sighed. “I was so ashamed for the next few days. But finally, I decided that when you came to the office next, I would talk it out to you… Start over properly. But then you resigned and I never saw you again.”
He gulped.
“If I had known about Alan, I would have stayed. I would have done everything to be there with you,” he whispered through unshed tears. After a few moments of processing that confession, Damien spoke again. “I would have loved him. I would have loved you.”
At that moment, Anastasia completely fell apart. She buried her head in her neck and cried. Damien could feel her tear drenching his shirt, but he didn’t care. He had finally told her what had been on his tongue for years. He was free of his secret.
They cried together for hours. Finally, they drifted off to sleep with Ana still cradled in Damien’s lap. The last thing he heard was Ana’s soft words whispering, “I would have loved you, too.”
His collar was soaked with her tears, but he never let her go. Instead, he had held her tighter. Within minutes of his whole body relaxing into hers, his head slumped slightly and his breathing evened out.
Ana sat in silence, curled up into him, not wanting to ever move. She had never anticipated that the night would turn out the way it had. Marcus‘ reaction had absolutely destroyed her. She didn’t know what she had expected. She knew Marcus would be upset… but never this. He had been vicious, knowing exactly how to get into her head… triggering every insecurity that had plagued her.
She looked up at the clock and saw it was barely nine–thirty. Wynne would still be awake and she desperately needed someone to speak to. She shifted out of Damien’s lap, pulling the blanket with her. He grunted and tried to hold onto her, but he stayed asleep.
She regretted not having to leave the warm comfort of his arm, but she needed to go. Once she was out, he slumped against the arm of the sofa. She pulled his legs up and out so that he was laying down, took off his shoes and socks, and replaced the blanket so that
it covered him.
Somewhere during their session, her parents had sneaked in with Alan and put him to sleep. How they had managed to avoid her…. or how much they had seen when they came in was still unknown. And Ana didn’t want to know what her parents thought about her cuddling up with her baby daddy.
When she returned to the living room after the call, she found Damien still fast asleep, snoring lightly. She walked up to him and couldn’t help but laugh. He had a section of his hair hanging on his face. She bent down and swept the hair back as softly as possible.
She wanted to crawl back into his arms and tell him that she loved him… that she had always loved him. But she had to protect. herself. Still, she ghosted her lips over his and watched his eyelids flutter before standing up and heading to bed to sleep beside
Alan.
The first thing Damien noticed when he slowly awoke was that he wasn’t in his own bed. He didn’t need to open his eyes to know that. Something was off. After a few minutes, he pried his eyes open and nearly had a heart attack. Alan was sitting on the floor directly in front of him, staring intently.
“Da-“he startled. “Alan, what are you doing?”
“Mommy, he woke up!” he shouted and flashed him a grin. “Hello, Daddy.”
Damien would never tire of hearing that word.

He chuckled and sat up, rubbing his eyes before stretching. He needed a minute to take care of his morning wood. He didn’t want to traumatize his poor son.
“Good moming, kid. Where’s your momma?”
Alan lifted his hand and pointed to the kitchen. “In there! I not allowed to watch TV unless you wake.” He pouted.
Damien grabbed the remote immediately and turned the television on. “Do you know which channel you watch?”
He nodded enthusiastically and snatched the remote from Damien. He ruffled Alan’s hair before making his way to the kitchen. He wasn’t wearing his shoes and socks. And those weren’t the only things missing after he fell asleep. He hadn’t expected her to stay in his arms for the whole night, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t disappointed.\
Damien walked in on the sound of sizzling. He stood at the doorway for a moment, watching her. How would Anastasia react? He had told her everything stored away in his heart. He had cried and kissed her. And she had kissed him back.
He gulped.
He didn’t regret it.
He regretted none of it. And he prayed she didn’t either.
“I think Alan watches too much television,” he said quickly, trying to announce himself.
Ana jumped and turned with a pair of tongs in her hand. “Oh! Good morning.” She smiled shyly and he watched the tip of her ears
redden. She was embarrassed about something. Yes, it was odd to have him wake up and be in front of her after what had happened the night before.
