Bound by the CEO’s Baby By Sun Scar Chapter 53
Chapter 53
Ana sniffled and tried to compose herself. She wiped the tears from her eyes and cheeks and turned to face him. “Do I?” she questioned. “Do I really? How do I know, Damien? How do I know that the second I screw up, you won’t hire the most expensive lawyer out there to take him from me? What happens when you get married and have a wife who either doesn’t want to deal with me and Alan or just plain wants me out of the way? You’ll resent us both. Marcus is right.”
She stood up quickly. Damien’s hand fell from her shoulder. “I need to stop him.”
Damien grabbed her upper arm gently and stood up to his full height. “You have no idea, do you?” he whispered.
Ana was bewildered.
“Do you love Marcus?” he asked. She looked at his strained face.
“Of course. He has been my best friend for years,” she said, turning away.
“That is not what I am asking, Anastasia.”
Ana knew what she meant. “I… no… But—”
She tried to pull away but Damien pulled her back. She was standing closer to him. If she looked up at his face, she would see something she didn’t want to see, so she kept her head down.
“You deserve better than that,” he said gently. “And for the record, you are an amazing mother, Ana. I would never even consider taking Alan away from you. I would never, could never, love a woman who didn’t accept you and Alan.” He placed his finger under Ana’s chin and lifted it so that he was looking into her eyes. “I love Alan, with everything that I am, and you gave him to me. Regardless of how it happened or how I’ve behaved, I will always be eternally grateful to you for what you’ve given me.”
Anastasia could feel fresh tears building in her eyes and they tumbled over mercilessly. Before she had a chance to do or say anything else, Damien pulled me to him and wrapped his arms around her back. The embrace was warm and comforting and Ana couldn’t help but melt into him. She felt pressure on the top of my head and realized that he was pressing his lips against her hair.
“I’m sorry,” she mumbled against his chest.
“For what?” he asked as his hand started running smooth circles on her back.
“Everything. I never gave you a chance and assumed everything on my own. You missed out on so much. And no matter how badly I want to, I can’t go back and give those experiences to you or Alan.” She choked back a sob.
He stopped rubbing her back and pulled her away by her upper arms to watch her expression. Still, Ana kept her eyes glued to the floor.
“Ana, look at me,” he asked firmly.
She shook her head, not wanting him to see how vulnerable she was.
“Please,” he begged.
She didn’t want to but it was impossible to say no to Damien.
“Don’t apologize anymore. All we have done since we met is apologize and fight. Neither of us will feel like we can do enough and it is going to hold us back. There is nothing we can do but move forward.”
He stared into her eyes. His fingers were under her chin and he moved closer. They were so close that Ana could feel his breath fan her face. He continued to stare at her, making her weak in the knees. She was unwilling to stop him as he closed the distance. And just like that, his lips were on hers.
He moved her lips against hers for a moment before he realized she was frozen. He inhaled shakily and removed his lips. “I am so sorry. I wasn’t thinking. I just-”
He was cut off by her lips returning to his. She grabbed the back of Damien’s neck and pulled him in desperately. Damien didn’t
resist.
She was massaging his lower lip in between hers gently. Damien felt her tongue sweep over it, asking him to take the kiss deeper. He obliged Ana, opening up his mouth a little wider and wrapping his tongue around hers. She let out a little moan and his body was screaming for him to bring her closer.
Damien reached up and cupped her face, wrapping his fingers around the back of her neck and letting his thumbs rest along her jaw.

She tilted her head and they began moving our mouths more aggressively. His tongue caressed her soft, plump lips before gliding over her teeth.
They continued that way for a few minutes before a silent understanding passed between them and they slowed down. Damien sucked on her top lip, lingering before he spoke.
“Tell me,” he panted. “Tell me you didn’t kiss me because of Marcus.”
Ana shook her head. “Not because of him,” she whispered.
“Tell me you want it too,” he begged, ghosting his lips over hers.
“I did.”
Damien pressed his lips harder against her, making the kiss more sensual, enjoying the feeling of her. This was their first kiss without alcohol being involved.
“I never wanted to hurt you,” he said, resting his forehead against hers.
“I know,” she replied.
“God, I wanted you so much…I resisted you for so long that I didn’t know what to do with myself.” His hands still cradled her forehead. He kissed her forehead, her eyes, her nose, and her cheeks. “I took my problems out on you.” He nuzzled into her neck. “I didn’t know how much I had hurt you.”
“Hush,” Ana soothed. “I thought we were done with apologies.” She ran her hand through his hair, holding him tightly.
“Anastasia, I need you to know.”
“I know now.”
“No… I know it’s done. And I won’t apologize anymore. But there are things that you don’t understand. That you never knew.”
Damien backed away and walked over to the sofa. He pulled Ana down with him and settled her into his lap. He kissed her softly. behind her ear. He let out a deep breath against her neck and she bared her neck to him. Damien smirked against her skin.
“Stop laughing,” she giggled.
