Bound by the CEO’s Baby By Sun Scar Chapter 52
Chapter 52
“Marcus, are you entitled to being my partner because you voluntarily helped me?” she asked. “You promised me that this wouldn’t happen. You swore to me that if your feelings changed, it would be okay and you would never try to cross the line.”
“Well, I was wrong. I don’t know what you want me to say. How am I supposed to control my feelings and keep being your friend? You want me to sit by and watch the two of you play house?” he asked. “He will never love you. Not like I do. Once he gets over the novelty of having a child, he will resent you for forcing him to be a father. And you know what when you screw up, his wealthy and powerful family will take Alan away because they can give him everything he wants. Maybe if you are lucky, you will get to visit him
once in a while.”
Ana noticed something in the corner of her eye and turned to find Damien standing in the doorway. Marcus followed her gaze and glared at Damien and then at her.
“Don’t expect me to wait for you, Ana. When he gets into your pants, he will be gone. I can guarantee that. You have been a challenge for him and once he conquers you, he’ll laugh in your crying face. He will seduce you, and tell you he cares, but when he finds someone else, he will abandon you again. Only, this time you will put Alan through a world of heart. He will be the one who suffers the most.”
The sound of Damien’s fist hitting the wall startled Ana.
“Get out of this house,” Damien remarked.
Marcus smirked and turned to Ana. “See? He treats this house as his. He will never allow you to forget how much better he is than you.”
Damien took two strides to them. “I said…. Get Out.”
Tears streamed down Ana’s cheeks. “Marcus, please,” she begged.
“Please what?” he laughed sarcastically. He grabbed her arm roughly and pulled her to him. “You mean nothing to him. You never have. Don’t let him turn you into a fool.”
The next thing she knew, Marcus was pulled away from her violently. He collided against the wall. Damien stood in front of Ana protectively.
“Don’t ever touch her again,” Damien growled.
“Or what?” Marcus sneered, pushing himself off the wall. He puffed his chest up and went toe to toe with Damien. “What are you going to do? Use your money to destroy me? Like you destroyed her? You may not have hit her or humiliated her intentionally, but it would have been better if you had. You destroyed her. She pretends to be a strong woman, but she is not. She cries in her sleep, did you know that?” Marcus didn’t wait for Damien to answer. “Of course not. You couldn’t be bothered to stick around to find out. Just run like you always have.”
“Marcus, stop!” Ana cried, trying to push her way around Damien..
“You don’t want him to know, Ana? Really? Why not?”
“Don’t do this,” Ana begged, but Marcus didn’t stop.
“I took care of her when she was scared and alone. I cleaned up your mess. I spent time with her every day and she loved it. But can you say the same?”
Ana could feel Damien shaking. He was holding onto Ana, but it was to hold himself back.
Marcus‘ lip twitched. “I felt Alan kick in her stomach. I saw his heartbeat during the ultrasound. I held him a few days after he was born and I have always loved him. I am the only father that little boy has ever known and I am more his father than you will ever be.”
That did it. Damien snapped. He launched forward and shoved Marcus against the wall.
Ana felt dizzy. She had promised Damien that Marcus hadn’t tried to take the father role. But that was exactly what he claimed to be doing. How had she not seen it? How could she have been so blind?
“Alan is mine,” Damien said in a low, threatening voice. “You will never be his father. I love that child more than you could possibly imagine and he calls ME Daddy.”
Damien looked at her for a second before he leaned in close to Marcus’s ear.
“You spent a few years with her, sure. But I am going to spend the rest of my life with her.”
Chapter 57
Ana couldn’t hear what he said, but the look on Marcus‘ face said that he wasn’t happy. When Damien let him go and backed up toward Ana, Ana thought the conversation was done.
But she was wrong.
Marcus pulled his fist back and slammed it into Damien’s face. Damien stumbled back, knowing Ana into the table. She gasped at the sharp pain coursing through her back and hip.
Damien turned briefly. “Are you okay?”
“No,” Ana cried because she wasn’t. She was about to lose her cool.
Damien turned and charged at Marcus. Marcus was about to throw a punch but Damien grabbed his arm and twisted it behind his back.
“Please Damien,” Ana whimpered.
“I am going to tell you this once,” Damien growled in Marcus‘ ear. “It is time for you to leave. You are no longer welcome on this property.”
Damien let Marcus go and shoved him towards the already open front door. Marcus looked at Ana one last time and shook his head before grabbing his coat and leaving.
Damien slammed the door shut and Ana collapsed onto the sofa, covering her face as she sobbed. She didn’t want anyone to see her like this, much less Damien..
She turned her head away from him but he bent down in front of her. He placed his hand on the back of her head and stroked her hair, letting her cry.
“Where’s Alan?” she asked softly.
“We met your parents outside and they wanted to buy him some ice cream,” he said. “Don’t worry… I just wanted to check up on
you.”
Ana nodded.
“You know he is wrong, right?” he asked. “Don’t let him do this to you.”
