Bound by the CEO’s Baby By Sun Scar Chapter 24

Chapter 24

“I never have and I never will. I am a good mother all by myself. You won’t ever have to step in to take care of Alan.”

Yes, she had practiced this speech over the years in front of a mirror. It came out exactly as she had wanted it to. Ana didn’t want Damien Wright to see her vulnerable.

“You have to be kidding me!” Damien roared. “You–1- My god! I don’t even know what to say to that! You hide my son from me for four years, and then you appear out of me blue. You have the audacity to ask me to leave? I know I hurt you, but I don’t deserve such treatment. Did you even consider me your confidant before? Who the hell are you? I have known you for years and I never imagined that you could be so manipulative.”

And it was time for Ana to put a stop to his tirade.

“Yes, you have known me for years and yet you accused me of lying about my son’s paternity and questioned my motives. We never knew each other, Damien.” She turned to head back into the house but Damien grabbed her by the hand and stopped her.

“Let me know when you have scheduled the paternity test. I will take Alan in. When you get the results, you have two weeks to make a decision on how you want the future to look like for you.”

She wriggled her hand out of his grasp and went inside. She locked the back door and pulled the curtain closed. She heard someone hit the door with a thump but after two minutes, when she heard nothing, she went to the between and broke down.

She fell to her knees beside her bed and let out a shuddering sob. She had known it was going to be bad and Damien would be upset. But she had never imagined him to be so cruel. She managed to make it to her bed and curled into a ball. She had to pull it together, but every time she thought she was going to be okay, a fresh wave of worries came to her.

She had been just fine living with Alan. There had been no drama or pain. They were blissfully happy with her family.

About an hour later, her body was so exhausted that she needed to stop. She continued to lay in bed motionless. She had to go back to a few weeks ago when she was the mother her son deserved. Her eyes were not bloodshot or puffy.

Ana took in a deep breath and showered. She didn’t look like a goddess, but her son would be fooled by her appearance.

After the encounter with Damien. Ana was determined to just stay out of his way. He texted her on the weekday to inform her that he had scheduled a paternity test. That he was going and Ana could take Alan when she had time.

Ana wanted to get the mess done with. It was a quick test with a little swab of Alan’s cheek. And he even got a lollipop in exchange. Alan was thrilled. Now, they needed to wait for two weeks.

Wynne was less than happy when she found out about the ordeal.

“Mr. Wright should get his eyes checked.”

Ana chuckled as a few people looked in their direction. “He either didn’t take a proper look at Alan or he is in denial.”

After her meltdown, she slipped into power mode. If there was another confrontation, she would be able to stand her ground.

“Oh, man… Are you really going to stay away as long as Damien has his head up his ass?” Wynne sighed.

“No. I will relay the result to him as soon as it arrives. He will have to decide if he is staying away or in Alan’s life.”

“Hey, as long as I get to babysit my godson.”

Chapter 24

Damien couldn’t believe her audacity. Ana actually thought she was justified in keeping the secret. Yes, Damien would have been upset about her being pregnant but he wasn’t a total bastard. But Ana didn’t know that. She didn’t know anything apart from the way Damien treated her after that night and it had made her feel horrible. It didn’t help that his so–called fiance was still in the picture at the time.

He decided not to dwell on it any longer. Neither of them could go back to change what had already happened. Ana assumed he would have asked her to get an abortion… but he thought differently. He had wanted her for so long, it would. have come as a shock but delight to have a piece of him inside her.

He was upset with himself for screaming at her. He didn’t want to be mean to her, and yet, he couldn’t stop himself from exploding. How could he even ask for a DNA test? While he may not have taken a good look, he had seen enough of baby Alan to know what the chances of him not being Damien’s son were. In fact, he was struggling to wrap his mind around what Ana had said.

Give up his parental rights? Was that what he wanted?

Now that he knew, he couldn’t walk away from them ever again. At least, he didn’t think so. Since that day, Ana and he hadn’t texted each other. Two weeks after the test, Wynne walked into his office with a huge grin.

“Mr. Wright, you’ve got some mail,” she said.

Damien’s stomach dropped and all thoughts of work disappeared. “Give it to me,” he said slowly. He knew exactly what she had brought. He tried to snatch it out of her hand, but Wynne was quick to pull away.

“You need to open it right now, Mr. Wright”

“Wynne, it is none of your business,” Damien growled.

“On the contrary, as your secretary and the godmother of baby Alan, I have every right to be here.”

Damien could hardly argue. Wynne had all the proof he needed in her hand and in a matter of seconds, Damien would know for sure what the truth was. Who was he kidding? He already knew the answer.

Wynne placed the letter in her hand and Damien nervously sliced across the top. He slowly opened it and a shuddering

breath left him.

“Oh god!” he gasped, throwing the letter down on his table,
