Bound by the CEO’s Baby By Sun Scar Chapter 20
Chapter 20
He opened his eyes and glanced at his phone. He had received plenty of missed calls and text messages.
He didn’t read any of them. He threw the phone aside and dressed up to go to the office. When he entered the office, he knew Wynne would know exactly what he had done.
“I picked you up from the bar and dropped you off at home,” Wynne deadpanned the moment she saw him.
“Stop talking to me, my head hurts,” he told her.
“You deserve more than that,” Wynne commented. “Coward,” she muttered under her breath, making sure Damien couldn’t hear her.
“Do I? How was I supposed to react to that news?” he asked.
“You could have listened to her,” Wynne retorted. “You know that baby is yours. I knew it the moment I laid Everybody who sees the child knows.”
“Well, maybe Anastasia should have kept her mouth shut.”

him.
“Mr. Wright,” Wynne growled. “Up until I caught her with Alan, she had told a total of one person who the father was. All everyone needed was one look at him and knowing the timing.”
Damien was too tired for the conversation. “Let’s not talk about this for now,” he said..
“Mr. Wright, you have to deal with this.”
Damien huffed. “Right now, all I have to do is work. I have a bad hangover and thanks to you a raging headache.”
Damien walked past Wynne and into his office. He didn’t look out any more. He got himself into his work and it didn’t take him long until he was fully focused on it. Finally, he was exhausted and he fell into sleep… a restful sleep.
He awoke with a start, still in his work chair. He stretched his limbs out and looked at the clock. His nap had been plagued with nightmares… or one long nightmare that wouldn’t end. In them, every woman he had ever met found Damien and presented him with a child they thought he fathered. He knew he was not stupid and such claims were easily disputed. He always took precautions, too.
So, how did Anastasia end up pregnant?
He sat straight and remembered the night. They were really drunk and he couldn’t remember either way if he had worn a condom or not. Did the condom break?
Damien stopped himself there. ‘Am I admitting that the kid is mine?”
The logical part of him was screaming the truth at him, but he refused to acknowledge it. He wasn’t ready.
“Fuuuuuck!” he yelled out. He wrapped his hands around his head and leaned against the table. He couldn’t imagine having a child with Ana. For the past four years, it had not crossed his mind. In all the memories he took of Anastasia, not once did he imagine this outcome. He remembered Wynne complaining about being unable to get in contact with Ana. He also remembered the weird sensation in his stomach whenever someone mentioned Anastasia.
He really wanted to know how the new job was going for her. If she had found a boyfriend that could finally relieve Ana’s stress. He would promptly ignore the jealousy and possessiveness that crept in when he thought of Ana with someone else. He had her virginity. He would always hold that.
When Damien had nothing more to do, he called James, thinking he was the only one he could rationally get through to.
“Well, did it make you feel better?” James asked. He had already brought a strong coffee to his boss‘ office.

“No.” Damien replied, speaking of drowning himself in work.
“Did you expect it to?”
Sometimes Damien wondered why James had not been a therapist, instead. He really had talent in the sphere. “I told you I wasn’t thinking about it. I just drove around, got drunk, and I don’t remember leaving the bar.”
“Mr. Wright, you do know how dangerous that was, right? Were you at least careful?” he scolded.
“Yes.” Damien wasn’t about to explain himself to his employee and make himself look more like a thoughtless clown. He could already hear the disappointment in James‘ voice. “This is what the two of you were nervous about?” he questioned.
James nodded.
“When did you find out?”
“About two weeks ago.”
“And Wynne? The same?”
James nodded. “When we were out grocery shopping, Wynne ran into Anastasia. She was nervous and evasive and a minute. later Wynne figured out why.”
“Alan.”
“Yes, Alan. Alan was with his grandmother, but it took Wynne a second to know whose son he was.”
“But how do you know? Maybe Anastasia hooked up with someone who looked like me afterward.”
James stared at him in disbelief. “I mean no offense, Mr. Wright, but you can’t be so clueless. It is not possible that a baby pops out of her nine months after your one–night tryst. Anastasia was pregnant before she left our company. Secondly, the child has never seen you before and he sometimes acts like a little version of you. It’s unsettling.”
Damien pinched the bridge of his nose. He could feel his chest tighten again and he felt like his heart was about to explode from his ribcage.
“Why didn’t anyone tell me? I have been here for a week. Did neither of you think I deserved to know?” he asked.
“Wynne and I were giving Anastasia time to come forward herself. She wanted to be the one who broke the news to you, but she was terrified.”
“What could she possibly be scared of?” Damien scoffed.
“Scared that you would react the way you
did.”
Damien groaned. “Really? How else was I supposed to react?”
“You could have been your usual self and spoken to Anastasia calmly,” James prompted softly.
“I don’t wish to talk to her right now. All I want to do is yell at her.”
“And what exactly do you wish to yell at her about, Mr. Wright?”
Damien didn’t think before he answered. If he had, he would have felt like a stupid little boy who couldn’t control himself. “How could she do this to me? How could she trick me into being a father? I am not ready.”
