Bound by the CEO’s Baby By Sun Scar Chapter 18

Chapter 18

A few days after Damien returned from his business trip, the two teams sat in a restaurant, celebrating their small wins. Alan felt a little under the weather and remained at home with her parents. Hence, Ana felt it was the perfect time to speak.

The door to the private room opened and Damien walked in, shaking the dust from his shoulder. He hung his coat on the rack and he looked like he had fought a war. Ana felt bad for him, considering she was going to ruin his day.

“Hey,” he said as he took his seat. Everyone was looking at him, but Ana couldn’t bring herself to meet his gaze, which she felt boring into her skull.

The group continued their party until everyone was tired and intended to leave. As Wynne got up, she smirked and kissed Anastasia’s cheek. She took the opportunity to quietly whisper into Ana’s ear. “It will all be okay. Ana.”

Anastasia nodded and worried her bottom lip with her teeth. Then, the group dispersed. Damien and Ana sat in silence for a few minutes as she built up the nerve to talk to him.

“How was the trip?” she finally asked.

“Not too bad. I got some interesting news.”

10%

“How so?” Ana was stalling. Did Damien know she was stalling? No, he shouldn’t have any idea what she was going to throw his way.

“The sub–brands were something I didn’t think of separating… it wasn’t a real option because they were small. But it actually seems like a really good idea now. I spoke to the managers and a few workers and I was impressed.”

Damien looked over at her and smiled.

“So, what do you think you are going to do?” This was an important question for her. One of the reasons she had never told Damien about Alan was because he might be forced to give up part of his life because he felt obligated. She once again found herself in a similar situation. She had no idea if this would work if he prioritized going to other states and establishing individual brands.

Who was she kidding? There was less than a one percent chance that things would work out, anyway.

“I don’t know. It’s an option I am toying with. I certainly wouldn’t regret expanding my empire.”

Ana nodded slightly and returned her focus to the table. They remained silent for a few more minutes before she heard him suck in a deep breath.

“So…” he trailed off nervously.

She looked at him expectantly and knew it was time. “I”

“I know what you want to know, Damien,” she sighed.

He swallowed hard and Ana’s eyes were drawn to his bobbing Adam’s apple. She closed her eyes and rolled her neck, feeling it crack with tension.

“Will you tell me?” he whispered.

“Where do you want me to start?”

“Do you remember everything?” she questioned.

“Yes. Do you?”

“Almost everything. Some things are a little fuzzy.”

Chapter 18

“I just saw you take a call and then you asked me to leave.” She had assumed he just had work, and even though she was hurt, she didn’t want to show it.

“I had a work emergency and had to let you go,” he confirmed.

“But then you just… ignored me?”

His eyes conveyed pain and regret when he nodded.

“I didn’t know what to do. We weren’t supposed to do that. It was easier to leave than to have to face you after I had ruined our professional relationship.” He paused briefly and started again.

“Did I hurt you?”

She clenched her teeth and looked down, nodding slightly. She heard his breath hitch.

“How bad?” his voice was shaking and he looked like he was going to jump out of his skin. She looked at him in confusion. “I haven’t hurt anyone before. I am not an asshole, okay?”

Ana’s eyes stung from the memory. “It did hurt when you broke my hymen,” she said softly.

“I don’t need the fucking clinical talk, Ana. I am not an idiot, I know what happens when a virgin has sex,” he snapped. His tone was harsh, making her flinch.

His tone made her snap. He was being all sweet and remorseful, but he suddenly turned into someone else.

“Fine, you really want to know, Damien? I’ll just fucking tell you then.” She leaned forward so that she was only inches away from his face and spoke slowly. “When you took my virginity, it hurt. But you know what hurt me more? How you stripped me of

my

dignity and took pleasure from my body before throwing me away. I have pushed a big baby out of my vagina before, but that was nothing compared to how you tormented me. Every day after that night, I prayed the torment would

end.”

She leaned back to survey his expression and saw the horrified expression on his face. And then she continued. “And when I was not being reminded by you constantly at work, I was at home, vomiting because I felt like a slut.”

“Oh my god,” his words were strangled. The pressure that was building behind her eyes released and fat tears streamed down her cheeks.

“Ana, I… I never meant for that to happen. I am so sorry,” he sobbed. Ana wiped the tears from her eyes and watched as he cried. He placed his hand on his lap and Ana wanted him to feel bad. She needed him to feel bad because she wished his whole world would crumble for how he had treated her.

“I couldn’t move on from that. So I changed companies and moved on.”

Damien lifted his head and their bloodshot eyes met. “You had a baby,” he said somberly.

She nodded. “I did. Alan. He is my everything.”

“I’m sorry,” he apologized again.

Ana laughed “Wynne told me you were worried that you have broken me.”

Damien looked mortified. “Why would she tell you that?” he whined.

“Don’t worry about that. You may have made me feel broke, but I certainly wasn’t broken.”

Damien sighed but Ana couldn’t tell if it was from relief or annoyance. After a few more minutes of silence, Anastasia decided it was time.

“Damien?” she called.
