Bound by the CEO’s Baby By Sun Scar Chapter 12
Chapter 12
Anastasia had touched up her makeup before going to the bar where she had decided to meet Wynne. They linked their arms together and giggled about absolutely nothing as they went in. She had missed girl time. She had been so wrapped up in being a mother that she forgot about being a social human. They pushed through the crowd and got themselves some drinks.
“Well hello, lovely ladies,” the bartender smiled at them. “I will be taking care of all your needs this evening.”
Wynne snorted. “My needs are being taken care of by my husband. My friend Ana, however, just might need your
assistance.”
Ana felt the tip of her ears burning and she knew she was blushing. “Wynne!” she protested.
Wynne giggled and the bartender winked at Ana before taking their drink orders. They were making conversation and laughing when Wynne looked past Ana’s shoulder, her jaw dropped open. Ana turned to see what Wynne was looking at and was greeted by the faces of several employees from Wright Group. James had already spotted the girls, his face showing his guilt. Right behind him was Damien.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Ana groaned as the men in suits walked further into the bar.
Wynne grabbed her hand and yanked her towards the dance floor before the men could get near.
“What the hell are you doing?” Ana hissed.
“I am getting you away from Damien. This was not supposed to happen. He was not supposed to come to this after–hour meeting.”
Ana turned back to look at the men and found Damien watching her. The look on his face as he scanned her body told Ana that he was surprised. But then their eyes locked. Damien’s were predatory. Ana could see him breathing deeply, his lips slightly parted, as if he was trying to control some unseen force that was encouraging him to pounce.
Ana remembered that exact look. It was the same look he gave Ana when he stalked across the bedroom to her. Damien smirked and Ana saw the tip of his tongue slip out of his mouth to wet his full bottom lip.
Ana turned back and took a sharp breath. When she looked at Wynne, she found the other staring with an amused smile.
“What?”
Wynne chuckled and shook her head lightly. “Nothing.”
“Don’t start Wynne, Ana warned.
“Maybe you just need to get laid,” Wynne grinned.
“I am fine as I am,” she countered as she slyly glanced in Damien’s way.
“You’re not as slick as you think, Anastasia. Just stop looking at him.”
“I’m not “Ana trailed off and bit her lip as Wynne raised her brow. “Oh, shut up.”
They started dancing and pretty soon, some other girls joined them. Wynne stared at her for a moment and texted.
“Talking to James?” Ana asked.
“Yeah. He said they couldn’t shake Damien. Honestly, I don’t know how hard he tried.”
Ana rolled her eyes. “Damien is their boss. They don’t want to piss him off.” She paused. “It’s not that big of a deal, really… I’ll manage,” she added after a while.

“But now you will be on edge all night. That is not what I wanted,” Wynne whined.
“Hand me another drink and I will forget all about it.”
The night went on without incident. Damien watched her, but never tried to speak to her. A few times, Damien brushed up against her as he headed to the bathroom or the bar. Damien danced on his own and brushed aside any girl who came to him. Ana tried to completely ignore him but obviously failed. She figured as long as she wasn’t looking at him, she didn’t need to be worried.
“Now there is a fine piece of man meat right there,” Wynne whispered into her ear, nodding to a table on the other side of the dance floor. “And he appears to find you fascinating.”
She looked over and then turned back. The man, seeing this as a green signal sauntered forward. With the drinks in her system, Ana really did get close and started dancing with the man.
“Who’s the man glaring daggers at us?” the man asked. Ana saw Damien looking over and knew that the two men were sizing each other up. It made Ana uncomfortable. She grabbed her partner’s hand.
“Somebody I used to know,” she said casually.
“So what? You are rekindling your relationship with the man and using me to make him jealous?” he asked.
“Ha! No,” Ana scoffed. “We never had a relationship to rekindle.”
The man arched his brow. Ana gave him a small smile. In return, he grinned and pushed her hair behind her shoulder. He trailed his thumb over her jaw. “Are you sure there is no relationship to rekindle?”
“You already know the answer.” One less drink and Ana would have remembered she got frisky when she was drunk. But she was drunk and she needed to stop drinking
Ana could feel Damien’s eyes on her as she dragged her partner onto the dance floor. Wynne winked at her. Somewhere at the back of her head, Ana knew the reason for this closeness was wrong, but she completely ignored it.
She was startled when a loud crash sounded from the bar followed by shouting. She didn’t need to look to see who had caused the commotion. She could hear Damien yelling at someone. He was distracted and Ana knew she had to take the chance to slip away without him noticing.
“Let’s go,” she ground out and dragged her partner out. The cool air hit her face, feeling amazing against her skin. They were simply walking out, the man’s hand gripping her fingers when the door slammed open, startling them. Her partner, Neil, she believed his name was dropped her hand, and his body tensed as he guarded Ana against the intruder. Ana would have joked about the situation had the voice not caught her off guard.
“Get away from her,” Damien said acidly.
