Bound by the CEO’s Baby By Sun Scar Chapter 11
Chapter 11
“I’m not saying hello, Mr. Wright.” She tried to walk out of the elevator but he had already grabbed her by the arm.
“Really. Anastasia? It has been four years.”
“I am all too aware of how long it has been, Mr. Wright. So kindly, fuck off!” Luckily, there were two or three people on the other side, but they all looked troubled by her blatant animosity.
“Suit yourself,” Damien murmured.
He let go of her arm, turned, and left the elevator. Ana followed him out but went in the opposite direction. She tried her best to keep herself from shaking. She sat down inside the conference room, making sure everything was prepared when she heard the door chime. A flurry of people walked in. At the end of the group was Damien Wright, with a smirk on his face.
Ana’s eyes widened and she stood up immediately. She greeted everyone before sliding back into her seat with wide eyes.
“Miss Reid, fancy seeing you here,” he said out loud, gaining the attention of the whole room.
Her
immediate boss turned to her with a curious look. “Miss Reid, you are acquainted?”
Anastasia gave a curt nod. Her boss nodded in understanding. “You worked at Wright Group for a long time, yes. How could I forget?” He gave her an encouraging smile.
“I hope Miss Reid has been an excellent worker. She had worked for me for years before transferring to your company.”
The bosses chatted for a moment, speaking of how competent Anastasia was before the meeting began.
Anastasia was at the forefront, leading the meeting. She spoke vividly of the plans moving forward, having been the team. leader that conceptualized it all. Just she hadn’t known the company would contact Wright Group for it.
And even if they did! Why would the President attend a meeting of such low priority? He must have known she would attend. Despite her thoughts, Ana didn’t allow any of her thoughts to slip out.
“I feel optimistic about this project.” Damien commented at the very end. Ana remained silent, wondering what kind of game he was playing. “It would be amazing if Miss Reid would lead the project and ensure everything goes well,” he said
with a raised brow.
Ana’s boss perked up. “Ana will obviously oversee the project. As you know, she is trustworthy,” he said proudly.
Anastasia had worked hard and climbed up the ladder quickly to the position she was in. Part of it was because of her excellent work ethic, and the other was what she had learned at Wright Group.
“Yes, “Anastasia” never disappoints,” Damien corrected the boss sharply.
The man didn’t bother with his retort. Ana stepped out of the room and messaged Wynne that she had unfortunately met Damien already. It was only five minutes since she sent the message when she heard the clicking of heels and Wynne appeared, looking thoroughly scared.
“Are you okay?” she asked.
“Well, hello again, Miss Reid… Wynne. I see you have reacquainted with Anastasia.”
“As thrilled as I am to have you come home, Damien, we have work to do,” Wynne said professionally. Ana didn’t miss the venom in her voice and chanced a peak at her. Wynne was practically glaring at Damien.
“Oh?” He quirked a brow at Ana. “Do you have lunch plans with my assistant, Anastasia?”
“That is none of your business,” Ana snapped.
