Chapter 32
Tracy learned later that Abbot was present at the club because it belonged to him.
Fortunately, the club didn’t have surveillance cameras.
Besides, Barron had used an anonymous phone number when he invited her.
Tracy and Barron also wiped off their fingerprints from the wine bottle and the chair.
Then Tracy tearfully called William. She claimed that a representative had approached her from an internationally renowned brand who wanted to discuss a jewelry design project with her at the club.
Upon her arrival, the representative suddenly became physically inappropriate with her. Luckily, Abbot saw it and came to her rescue.
Unexpectedly, the representative had an accomplice, and they injured Abbot before fleeing.
William immediately rushed to the club with Keith.
Abbot had been struck on the back of his head. But he didn’t show any signs of bleeding.
They took Abbot to the hospital for examination. Abbot was diagnosed brain dead, colloquially known as being in a vegetative state.
Later, they arranged for Abbot to be transported overseas.
It was said that Keith had a medical facility there.
Due to the lack of surveillance cameras and the high number of people coming and going at the club, William’s team couldn’t find any leads.
Initially, Tracy was worried. She was afraid that Abbot might wake up.
During that period, whenever she visited the Hawk residence with William, she didn’t dare to look Barron in the eye. She was afraid that William would notice any hints.
She also avoided answering calls from unknown numbers.
After several months passed, Abbot still hadn’t regained consciousness.
Sometimes, when Keith and William had dinner together, Tracy would be present and overhear Keith sigh, mentioning that Abbot might never wake up.
Only then did she feel relieved.
However, after a few months, William’s position suddenly became stable.
During a dinner, Arthur entrusted William with the proper management of the Hawk Group.
Naturally, Tracy stopped entertaining the thought of contacting Barron.
Barron tried to reach out to her several times, but she skillfully avoided him.
Last month, William proposed to Tracy. And Tracy gladly accepted.
She had been eagerly anticipating becoming Mrs. Hawk.
However, Tracy’s grandmother received insider information, suggesting that Arthur was considering reinstating Barron’s
father.
If that were to happen, William would lose his advantage once again.
Therefore, Tracy immediately left the country.
She planned to keep William hanging on while observing the situation.
She intended to decide on her next move once the situation became clear.
As a result, William suddenly got married, which disrupted all her plans.
Now, William had successfully secured several major projects, which solidified his position.
Therefore, as Barron reiterated their previous agreement, Tracy firmly refused.
Barron smiled and asked. “Are you sure you don’t need to reconsider?”
“No,” Tracy replied and lifted her chin. She was about to push the car door open to get out.
With her hand on the door handle, Tracy turned around and said to Barron without mincing her words, “Mr. Hawk, please don’t threaten me with Abbot’s incident anymore. You were the one who initiated it, and it wouldn’t be beneficial for you if it reached William’s ears.”

Barron chuckled and then said, “What if I happen to enjoy doing things that harm others and myself?”
After hearing that, Tracy raised her chin even higher. She said, “Well. Go ahead, then. You’ve known William, your cousin, for over twenty years. You should understand him, right? In William’s heart, his good friends are even more important than his blood brothers. If he finds out that you have harmed his good friend, I’m afraid William would not hesitate to take revenge on you.”
Barron laughed again. He said, “Ms. Yost, you seem to understand William quite well after a six–year romantic relationship. with him.”
‘So, Mr. Hawk, don’t play with fire.” Tracy said as she opened the car door.
After hearing that, Barron smiled and asked, “Ms. Yost, do you really understand William?”
“What?” Tracy furrowed her brow and looked at Barron.
When it came to William, she always wanted to hear more.
Barron looked at Tracy with a sardonic expression. He asked, “Do you think that he will return to you even if he marries someone else? I know he is what kind of person. When he loves you, he will go beyond to treat you well. But he won’t care about you when he doesn’t love you anymore.”
Barron’s words hit Tracy deeply, which made her feel miserable.
However, she insisted. “Mr. Hawk, you don’t need to bother yourself with my affairs.”
After six years of a relationship with William, Tracy believed that no matter what, as long as she insisted that her overseas trip was just for a competition, William would surely understand her.
In Tracy’s view, even if William got angry, there would always be a time when the anger subsided.
Furthermore, the Emerald Cup was coming up next month. And Tracy had already acquired two outstanding design pieces.
One was called “Redemption,” and the other was called “Orchid Fragrance.”
At that time, Tracy would directly enter the competition with these two pieces of work.
Even if she couldn’t win the championship, winning an award was a sure thing.
At that time, Tracy would confess her feelings to William on the award stage. William was believed that William would be moved and reignite his feelings for her.
an emotional person. Tracy
After Tracy left, Barron smiled and exited the car. Then he took the driver’s seat and drove away.
Tracy returned to the Yost family’s house at eleven o’clock at night.
As Tracy noticed the prayer room was still illuminated, she lightly knocked on the door and then pushed it open.
Her grandmother was kneeling on a kneeler, holding a gospel bracelet, and praying.
Tracy immediately entered. She grabbed a crucifix, preparing to recite the Bible. Her grandmother opened her eyes and reprimanded softly, “Put it down.”
“Grandma, I want to recite the Bible,” Tracy said.
“What’s the rush? Why recite the Bible so late at night?” her grandmother scolded.
Then Tracy sighed and put down the crucifix. After that, she bowed to the statue of Jesus.
With a sigh, Tracy said, “Grandma, you’re really driving me crazy.”
“Don’t talk nonsense in front of Jesus, her grandmother said with an unhappy expression.
Then she stood up, set aside the gospel bracelet, and walked outside.
Tracy immediately followed.
Her grandmother walked into the bedroom.
She sat on the bed and looked at Tracy with dissatisfaction. “Are you implying that it’s all my fault?”
Tracy sighed again and sat down on the sofa across the bed. “Grandma, if it weren’t for you saying that Mr. Arthur wanted to reinstate Xavier, I wouldn’t have gone abroad, and William wouldn’t have hastily married a stranger.”
After hearing that, Tracy’s grandmother frowned. Her face was lined with wrinkles. “Who am I doing this for? The Yost family used to be one of the top five prominent families in Lantric City. Look at what it has become now. If we can’t gain significant benefits through the alliance, we will continue to decline. On a larger scale, this concerns the fate of the Yost family.
“On a smaller scale, it concerns your own destiny. If William can’t take control of the Hawk Group, he will inevitably be pushed out by the main branch of the Hawk family. From the moment a woman gets married, her destiny is tied to her husband’s. When he prospers, she prospers, and when he suffers, she suffers.
Chapter 32LT
“If William holds power, you’ll be the mistress of the Hawk family. And wherever you go, people will address you as Mrs. Hawk.
“But if William loses his power, who will even give you a second glance?”
“Grandma, I understand the reasoning behind it all. But the question now is, what should I do?” Tracy sighed again.
“You’re young and beautiful right now. If you can’t win over William, you don’t deserve to be the mistress of the Hawk family. I can only tell you that William has already captured Arthur’s heart. Perhaps, the month after next, Arthur will announce his heir on his birthday. Go to sleep now. I’m tired.”
Then Tracy’s grandmother got up to freshen up.
Tracy returned to her own room.
She tossed and turned all night.

Her mind was consumed with thoughts of how to regain William’s affection.
