Chapter 33
The presidential suite in Seasion Hotel.
This was the first time Vanessa shared a bed with William Hawk.
She was expecting herself to stay awake throughout the night, but she ended up having a peaceful sleep.
The moment she opened her eyes, it was already the crack of dawn.
“Awake?” The voice next to her asked lazily.
“Yeah.” Vanessa answered softly.
Vanessa was thankful she could conceal her bashfulness as the day had just begun, and it was still not entirely bright.
“Still sleepy?” William asked.
“Nope. Vanessa replied as she lifted the blanket while preparing to get up from bed.
William suddenly hugged Vanessa tightly, his body close to hers.
Vanessa froze.
A string of words flashed through her mind. “Do not provoke a man in the morning.”
Vanessa’s face started burning up as she felt his body react.
Intense scenes from last night bombarded her mind.
William reached out to press the curtain switch, and the room turned pitch–dark instantaneously.
He started running his fingers up and down.
“We… are just… we are… stuttered Vanessa.
She meant to say their deal last night was just to role–play a married couple.
William picked up the conversation. “Yeah, we are a married couple.”
With that, he silenced Vanessa with a kiss, depriving her of any opportunity to speak further.
It might be that either the blurry morning atmosphere was too intoxicating or the kisses from William were simply too enchanting.
Or perhaps her body had already become accustomed and endeared itself to William’s touches since last night.
Vanessa couldn’t put up any form of resistance at all…
William was very gentle this time, a far cry from the wild side he displayed last night.
He did not tire Vanessa much as he feared her body might be unable to take it.
Despite knowing he could have wanted more of her, William still felt invigorated.
He reached out for the curtain switch, and the curtains spread apart, allowing bright sunlight to pour in fully.
Vanessa subconsciously pulled up the blanket.
Unable to contain his laughter, William spoke, his voice all hearty and contented. “It’s still early. Just get some more sleep.” “All right then,” Vanessa replied, even though she had wanted to get up initially but was now shy to do so.
Especially when her eyes met William’s eyes.
Vanessa did not dare to meet his gaze at all when he smiled as she was afraid that she would only sink in deeper.
He was too perfect, as perfect as Jackson Foster.
Vanessa buried herself entirely in the blanket. She decided to just take a light nap before getting up while William was in the
shower.
She ended up taking a nap longer than intended.
When Vanessa finally woke up, she rose from the bed immediately.
Straightening her pajamas, she tossed the blanket aside as she got up.
William was just making his way out of the closet then. He had a broad smile on his face as he greeted her. “Morning.”
He had already put his shirt on and was in the midst of securing the cuffs. His every gesture so dignified and refreshing to look at.
“Morning.” Vanessa replied, her face blushing.

William’s appearance was so distinguished, and it only made her feel pathetic in comparison.
“Had a good sleep?” William asked.
“Yeah.”
William’s grin widened. “Well then, clean yourself up, and let’s have breakfast.”
“Sure,” Vanessa replied, getting on her feet in the blink of an eye.
She went to the bathroom and started to have her shower.
William’s voice floated over to the bathroom. “I’ve helped you put toothpaste on your toothbrush, and your clothes are already on the racks.”
“Thanks!” Vanessa replied immediately.
He was too sweet and considerate.
With a smile still plastered on his lips, William put on his suit as he dialed the phone to order breakfast delivery and at bouquet of six roses.
Ten minutes later.
The doorbell rang, and it was the waiter who had come to deliver breakfast.
And the bouquet of roses that William had specially ordered.
There was an empty vase on the side table in the living room.
William filled the vase with water and fetched a pair of scissors to cut the flower stems. He placed each rose in the vase after cutting the stem one by one.
Vanessa stepped out of the bathroom only to see William in the midst of cutting the stems.
She was surprised as she did not expect William, of all people, to have a passion for flower arrangement.
Six roses meant mutual respect and understanding.
She liked this meaning.
William raised his eyes upon the sight of her and flashed her a smile. “Come over, and let’s have breakfast.”
“All right,” Vanessa said as she made her way over instantly.
It was a sumptuous breakfast.
William washed his hands and sat opposite Vanessa after he was done with the arrangement of the roses.
Vanessa scooped some soup into a bowl for William.
He took the bowl over and said, “Thanks, dear.”
William had always looked after Tracy Yost when they had breakfast together in the past.
He did not expect that there would be a role reversal after marrying Vanessa.
Although he could very much take care of himself, William could not deny that it felt good to be cared for by someone this.
way.
Vanessa proceeded to scoop some soup for herself as William cracked and peeled a hard–boiled egg before placing it on a small plate in front of Vanessa.
Vanessa responded immediately. “It’s all right. I can do it myself.”
Perhaps Jackson’s one–sided decision to break up with her three years ago dealt Vanessa a blow so big that she was flustered every time William treated her well. She knew she would only fall deeper, possibly into an abyss, and she was apprehensive
about it.
“The breakfast in Scasion Hotel is really not bad, especially their soup and dumplings,” William remarked as he placed a dumpling on Vanessa’s plate.
He took one for himself as well.
Leaning forward to take a bite of the dumpling first, William savored the soup that oozed out from within it before placing the whole of it inside his mouth.
Vanessa was dumbfounded as she watched William eat. His dining etiquette was far from refined, yet he still managed to keep his distinguished bearing, and it was nothing short of admirable.
“Eat it while it’s hot. It’s delicious.” William urged.
“Ok, Vanessa replied as she lifted the plate and took a small bite of the dumpling first. She sipped the soup coming out from

the dumpling and ate it slowly.
William could not help but look on in awe as Vanessa ate gracefully.
After breakfast.
After sending Vanessa to the hospital, William drove to the company.
William had brought along a disentanglement puzzle for Danny to keep him occupied in the hospital ward.
William was like the boy next door, all warm and affectionate when he was in the hospital visiting his father–in–law.
Yet his presence turned completely ominous and chilling the moment he left the hospital and sat in his car.
He dialed Jim Hill’s number. “Found anything?” he asked.
“Yes, Mr. Hawk,” Jim replied.
“Was it Tracy?” William asked further.
“Yes, we have the person who provided the drugs. Do you want to have a look first?” Jim asked.
“Just send to the police,” William instructed coldly.
“Yes. What about Ms. Yost?” Jim asked.
William’s face darkened as he said, “I will take care of it.”
He had already guessed that it was Tracy’s doing last night, although he still hoped that it might not be her after all.
They had known each other for six years, and it was only after their break–up that he became acutely aware of the person she really was.
It was no wonder that Keith stressed the importance of staying level–headed while in a relationship.
After ending his call with Jim, William called Ben immediately and instructed him to hand the surface mounting project over to Jenkins Group.
“Mr. Hawk, just to confirm, you are saying that the SMT project is to be handed over to Jenkins Group?” Ben was caught by surprise as he confirmed William’s instructions again.
The internal agreement was that this project was to be managed by the Yost family.
“Do you not understand what I’m saying here?” William asked irritatingly.
“Yes. I got it,” Ben replied. It was not that he was on Tracy’s side, but he was too dumbfounded that he was at a loss for words.
He had especially highlighted that the proposal from Jenkins Group was the most attractive as it had the lowest costs during the presentation last night.
However, Mr. Hawk had decided to give the Yost family a considerable priority as their surface mounting technologies were comparatively advanced compared to other proposals with more or less similar costs.
How could it be that things just overturned overnight?
But he decided better against asking more.
Back at the Yost family.
Tracy did not have a good night’s sleep at all. She only managed to fall asleep when the day broke.
The door was kicked open violently when she was just about to fall into a slumber.
Her father’s voice roared with intense anger as he yelled, “Tracy Yost, you incompetent one! Get up right now!”
