Chapter 31
Chapter 31
As Keith walked by the waiter, he casually grabbed a glass of red wine from the tray.
Then he made his way to a corner.
And he sat opposite Tracy and propped his legs up on the coffee table.
Wearing a pair of flashy boots, he looked quite extravagant.
With a smile on his lips, he leisurely sipped the red wine and smacked his lips. Then he said, “This wine is pretty good. No wonder William is intoxicated and captivated by its taste.”
Keith raised his eyebrows, hinting at something.
Tracy was trying to find a way to get rid of Vanessa. When she saw Keith, she felt annoyed and put away her phone. She looked at Keith and said, “Dr. Cooper, you’re good friends with William. When you attend these high–end gatherings in the future, tone it down a bit and pay attention to your image. Don’t embarrass William.”
After hearing that, the smile on Keith’s lips grew even brighter. And he deliberately shook his legs on the coffee table, making a loud clattering noise. He chuckled and asked, “Embarrass him? Oh, did I secretly add some sleazy aphrodisiac to someone’s drink?”
After hearing what Keith said. Tracy’s face changed. She replied, “What nonsense are you talking about?”
“Well. Don’t act innocent. If you stay calm, maybe I won’t believe it was you,” Keith sneered.
Tracy’s gaze flickered, and she forced herself to remain composed. She said, “I don’t understand what you’re saying.”
Keith casually swirled the remaining bit of wine in his glass, disdainfully curled his lip, and downed it without hesitation. Then he looked Tracy up and down impolitely. And he said. “No worries, as long as you understand in your heart. Ms. Yost, do you think wearing fancy clothes can save face? No matter how elegant your appearance, committing vile acts will still disgust people.”
“I truly have no idea what you’re talking about. Dr. Cooper, as your friend, I was only reminding you to pay attention to your image. If you mind it, consider it unsaid,” Tracy replied. She stood up, grabbed her handbag, and headed towards the
exit.
“Ms. Yost, when you want to steal someone else’s husband, do you pay attention to your image?” Keith shouted from behind Tracy.
After hearing Keith’s words, Tracy stumbled and almost fell..
She was furious. But she didn’t dare to argue with Keith.
She loathed Keith’s mouth. He really said anything without hesitation.
Tracy quickly made her way out.
For her, today was truly unlucky.
She thought to herself, “Forget it. I’ll go home.”
With Keith around, even keeping aside Vanessa would be useless.
Then Tracy walked towards her Lamborghini.
Just as she was about to open the car door, a pair of hands grabbed her from behind.
“Ah!” Tracy screamed in fright.
“It’s me.” Barron’s voice rang out.
Tracy was furious. She gritted her teeth and then said, “Barron, let go of your paws. I am William’s girlfriend.”
“William is already married. Are you still daydreaming?” Barron laughed.
However, he released Tracy.
He said, “Let’s talk in the car.”
“We have nothing to talk about, Tracy replied. She immediately refused.
Her current goal was clear. It was William.
“Are you sure there’s nothing to talk about?” Barron labked at Tracy with a smirk.
“Im very sure.” Tracy’s mood was at its lowest point today. And she had no patience to banter with Barron here.
She reached out and pulled out the car door. She was preparing to get in.
“Do you think William won’t know the truth as long as Abbot remains unconscious?” Barron asked in a low voice.

Tracy’s expression instantly changed. And she exploded with anger. She slammed the car door and turned around to glare at Barron. Then she asked, “What did I do? It was you who injured Abbot and left him in a vegetative state.”
Then Barron replied. “You’re so heartless. Considering the relationship we have…
Tracy exploded even more. She said. “We don’t have any kind of relationship.”
Barron chuckled and then said. “Guess if William believes that. But it doesn’t matter. He’s already calling someone else his wife. Who cares about you, Ms. Yost? Are you sure we should be standing here having this conversation?”
Tracy was furious. She reached out and pulled the car door again. She wanted to leave.
However, Barron threatened her. He asked, “Otherwise, should I go talk to William right now?”
Tracy was livid, and her voice squeezed through her teeth. “Where is your car?”
After hearing Tracy’s words, Barron wore a satisfied smile and puckered his lips toward a nearby vehicle.
Tracy was seething with anger. Then she walked over, opened the car door, and sat inside.
Soon after, Barron also got in the car.
Both of them sat in the backseat.
Tracy glared at Barron and accused him of his behavior. She said, “Barron, please act more appropriately in the future and stop ambiguously misleading others. We don’t have any kind of relationship, okay?”
Unlike Tracy’s angry response, Barron had a smile on his face. “Ms. Yost, you’re really heartless. When you were dating William, you used to visit the Hawk residence often. And you never hesitated to give me flirty looks during our family dinners.”
Tracy was extremely furious. She asked. “When did I give you flirty looks? You’re simply delusional and imagining things.”
“Oh, really? Are you saying you never smiled at me?” Barron asked.
“That was just being polite. That was purely out of politeness. Do you understand?”
“Then why did you agree to go out with me? Why did you accept the invitation to meet me alone?” Barron asked. He chuckled as he looked at Tracy.
Barron thought inwardly. “Tracy, do you really think I have no idea what kind of person you are?
“Do you think everyone had the same mindset as William when it came to love?”
Tracy pompously replied, “Naturally, it’s because you’re William’s cousin.”
Barron’s smile grew brighter, and he raised an eyebrow. Then he said, “Tracy, has anyone ever told you that a person. shouldn’t be too smart or too greedy? Being too smart can lead to misunderstandings, and being too greedy can cause you to lose more than you gain.”
His words pierced Tracy’s heart. Then Tracy asked him discontentedly, “So, what exactly are you trying to say?”
Barron chuckled and then replied, “Our agreement from a year ago is still valid.”
“Sorry. I’m not interested,” Tracy said. She firmly rejected Barron.
A year ago, after the death of William’s father, William faced rejection from the shareholders and executives at the Hawk Group.
During that time, Barron’s popularity briefly overshadowed William’s.
So when Barron invited Tracy to meet, she didn’t refuse. She was also observing the situation.
The situation wasn’t entirely clear, so she didn’t want to burn her bridges.
Barron wanted her help in stealing William’s core business data, with the condition of marrying her and making her the future mistress of the Hawk family.
Naturally, Tracy was tempted.
But at that time, she couldn’t be sure if Barron would successfully take over. Therefore, she took a roundabout approach, neither accepting nor rejecting the offer.
Barron suggested putting the agreement in writing.
And she was tempted even more.
However, as William’s close friend, Abbot Brown, overheard their conversation, he became furious and accused her of being disloyal. Moreover, Abbot took out his phone, intending to call William.
At that moment, Tracy was panicking. She was afraid that Abbot would tell William everything.
Desperate, she grabbed a wine boule from the table and hurled it at Abbot
Chapter 31
As Abbot tried to wrestle the bottle away, Barron grabbed a chair and swung it at the back of Abbot’s head.
After Abbot partially shielded himself with his hand, his body went limp, and then he fainted.
Thinking that Abbot might be dead and fearing the consequences, Tracy immediately urged Barron to find a way to leave.
She called William and informed him about Abbot’s situation.
The incident occurred in the only club in Lantrie City that didn’t have surveillance cameras.
Due to the lack of surveillance cameras, many people chose this club for business meetings.
Consequently, the club’s business thrived immensely.
