Chapter 22
Vanessa emerged in a strapless purple gown, gracefully walking over to William.
She exuded elegance with every step she took.
After the jewelry worth 400 thousand dollars was put on her, it looked as if it were worth 4 million dollars.
She looked dreamy in her purple gown.
She had a slender waist, long legs, a swan–like neck, a delicate collarbone, and smooth skin.
She radiated an aura of aristocracy and grace from head to toe.
If one didn’t know her background, one would easily mistake her for someone from a prestigious lineage. Her noble and elegant demeanor seemed innate.
“Is it okay?” Vanessa asked confidently.
A smile flashed across William’s lips. He generously praised her, saying, “You look stunning, like a princess.”
Vanessa blushed at the compliment. She said, “It’s not as exaggerated as you make it sound.”
William put down his magazine and stood up. He reached out his hand toward Vanessa.
Vanessa placed her hand in his.
“You really look beautiful,” William said and then held Vanessa’s hand.
“Thank you,” Vanessa replied.
William glanced at Vanessa’s shoes and remarked. “Let’s grab something to eat first. The banquet later might be quite tiring.”
Normally, she wore flat shoes. Now she had on three–inch heels, which would surely make her feet ache later.
The banquet was scheduled to start at 8 p.m.
However, luxury cars started arriving at the Seasion Hotel around 6 p..
The banquet was Lantrie City’s annual business networking event.
Although it was called a business networking event, it was actually more of a social gathering.
Almost all the influential individuals in Lantrie City would attend.
Those driven by ambition would strive to find business opportunities at this banquet. Even if they didn’t secure any deals, it was still beneficial to network with several business tycoons.
The younger crowd was more interested in encountering a romantic connection.
Six years ago, William and Tracy met at a similar banquet.
This night, Elena and Jackson also joined the event.
They arrived shortly after 7 p.m.
Elena was dressed in a blue evening gown.
She exuded an air of grace when she remained silent. Her demeanor and appearance were both impressive.
Jackson was clad in a meticulously tailored bespoke suit, exuding an aura of aloofness.
Elena, arm in arm with Jackson, entered the banquet hall. They captured the attention of many onlookers.
Many girls cast admiring glances toward Jackson and inquired about him discreetly.
Someone asked, “Hey, who’s that handsome guy? I’ve never seen him before.”
“I don’t know. Maybe he’s one of those wealthy scions who has been studying abroad and just returned to the country,” another person replied.
“His aura of aloofness is so enticing. I wonder which wealthy family’s daughter is accompanying him. I’ve never seen her before.”
“Oh, I remember now. She’s Elena, the daughter of that jewelry tycoon in Estain City.”
“Oh, that’s right. This handsome guy is Jackson, the son of the Foster family. The media reported their wedding a while ago.”
“Oh, they’re already married. What a pity. I thought he was a scion who had returned from abroad. We don’t stand a chance now. Speaking of which, I wonder when William and Tracy are getting married. I’m so looking forward to their wedding. It’s bound to be grand.”
“Look, Tracy is here. Huh, why is she alone today? She used to always be with William.”

“I don’t know. Maybe William is busy and will come later or not at all. I heard that the competition is fierce among the three heirs of the Hawk family. None of them are easy to deal with.”
“Shh, keep your voice down. Don’t discuss these matters here.”
Everyone fell silent.
Someone greeted Tracy and said. “Hey, Tracy.”
Tracy walked over and greeted everyone with a smile.
They were all acquaintances who came from wealthy families. Even if their relationships weren’t the closest, they would still greet each other when they met.
After exchanging greetings with a few girls, Tracy left with a smile.
Within the larger social circle, there were smaller circles. Tracy had her own group of friends.
At the same time, Elena and Jackson were in the north corner of the banquet hall
Elena attentively offered a drink to Jackson and said, “Jackson, here you go.”
Jackson remained expressionless and did not take the drink from Elena’s hand. Instead, he reached out and took a glass of red wine from a passing waiter’s tray.
Elena’s expression turned sour. She whispered, “Jackson, do you have to treat me this way?”
“You should be grateful that Mr. Sanchez is fine,” Jackson replied coldly.
After hearing Jackson’s words, Elena’s face turned pale. She bit her lower lip and made an apology. “Jackson, I’m sorry.”
She knew that Jackson had found out about her provoking Henry.
She couldn’t accept it and asked with a hint of grievance, “Jackson, can’t you be fair to me? I am your wife. Why do you always think about the Sanchez family?”
Jackson coldly looked at Elena and warned her, “Let me say it again. I haven’t had any
years, but Mr. Sanchez has done me a favor.”
“But you’ve been distant toward me, especially since we came to Lantrie City.”
“Should I bow down to you?” Jackson retorted.
“That’s not what I meant. I…
tionship with Vanessa for three
Jackson interrupted her and said. “If you can’t stand it, go talk to Grandfather about a divorce.
“I won’t divorce, Jackson. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have pressured you…” Elena apologized, preparing to express her love for Jackson. However, she immediately noticed Vanessa walking in.
She was amazed by Vanessa’s appearance and demeanor.
Vanessa was wearing a purple strapless gown, high heels, and tassel earrings. With her hair elegantly tied up, allowing a few strands to naturally frame her face, she looked noble and graceful.
Elena had always known that Vanessa was beautiful and could outshine others with a little dressing up. She had seen Vanessa
at various events before.
This night, Vanessa looked more stunning than ever.
It made Elena jealous and flustered.
She immediately looked at Jackson.
Elena saw him glance at the entrance and then calmly avert his gaze.
After that, Elena let out a sigh of relief.
She whispered, “Jackson, let’s go and greet Mr. Davies.”
“Well, Jackson responded indifferently.
Elena no longer cared about Jackson’s attitude. She just hoped the banquet would end soon.
She was afraid that Jackson’s attention would be captured by Vanessa once again.
Tracy was sitting with her friends and chatting with them.
She was venting her frustrations, and her friends sympathized with her. One of them said, “William is being so petty. You just went abroad for a while. How could he find someone to marry?”
“He gave me an ultimatum, asking me to choose between going abroad and staying with him. He used to be incredibly understanding and accommodating, so I never expected him to be serious this time.”
Chapter 22
“Look, William is here. So the woman by William’s side is his wife after the blind date. Tracy, didn’t you say she came from at poor family and had a tacky appearance?”
Upon hearing that William had arrived, Tracy immediately turned around to look.
At the entrance of the banquet hall, Vanessa was holding William’s arm. Vanessa looked elegant, while Willian appeared distinguished. They looked like a perfect match.
Tracy’s grip tightened on her highball glass. Her smile froze on her face.
She thought inwardly, “William, how could you bring this woman here?”
Soon after, she overheard William introducing Vanessa to the CEO of Mighcious Company. William said, “Thank you for the compliments, Mr. Dutton. She’s not my secretary or a new girlfriend. She’s my wife, Vanessa.”
