Blind Date With A Billionaire By Sylvia Nancy

Chapter 23

Chapter 23

Chapter 23

Tracy’s anger burned at the mention of the word “wife.” If she had a stronger grip, the highball glass in her hand would have shattered into pieces.

Her friend whispered in a hushed voice, standing up for Tracy, “Men are all the same. They’re jerks. They may seem wonderful during the courtship phase, but they can naturally change and marry someone else. Do they really have no

emotions?

“You don’t know this. Recently, I’ve been getting these kinds of stories on a certain social media platform. Many losers who were deeply in love suddenly regret it. They went back to their hometowns to have blind dates and marry someone else. It was just because they couldn’t agree on the engagement gift. Do men only care about finding any woman?”

“Enough!” Tracy’s frustration reached its boiling point.

She was witnessing Vanessa basking in the spotlight that once belonged to her.

At that moment, Mr. Dutton from Mighcious Company was being polite and attentive to Vanessa. He kept praising William and Vanessa. He said, “Mrs. Hawk, you’re incredibly beautiful. Since Mr. Hawk is young, talented, and handsome, I was wondering what kind of woman could match him. Mrs. Hawk, seeing you today, I realize that you two are simply a perfect. match. You are so well–suited for each other.”

“You’re so kind.” Vanessa replied and smiled gracefully.

William responded politely. “Thank you, Mr. Dutton.”

William then proceeded to introduce Vanessa as his wife to other business moguls they met. William informed everyone they encountered that Vanessa was his wife.

At the same time. Tracy thought inwardly. “Is Vanessa William’s wife?

“Haha. How ironic!

“It was William who said he would only love me in his life.

“It was William who said he would only marry me.

“It was William who said he wanted to give me the best of everything in the world.”

The more Tracy thought about it, the angrier she became. She was so angry that she downed the glass of red wine in one gulp.

Unable to hold back, her friend murmured, “Men are just driven by appearances. When a woman says she wants to break up, it’s just an emotional outburst. The woman just hopes the man will console her. But when a man says he wants to break up, he can immediately find someone else.”

Seeing Tracy’s grim expression, her friend sighed and said, “Tracy, things have come to this point. What can you do now? Ah, you know, back then, why didn’t you just placate him? Why did you insist on going abroad? Is competition more important than marriage? Tracy, your drive for success is too strong. The most important career for a woman is finding a high–quality, good man.”

Tracy scoffed inwardly. She had understood that logic when she was barely a teenager.

Why did she insist on going abroad?

Her grandmother had analyzed the situation within the Hawk family for her. The possibility of William becoming the successor of the Hawk Group was already slim.

Arthur had two sons. They were Xavier and Wallace.

Xavier was the eldest and had two sons and a daughter.

Wallace was Arthur’s second son. Wallace had a son and a daughter, with the son being William.

Originally, as Arthur’s grandson from the second branch, William didn’t have the qualifications to carry the Hawk family legacy.

So why did Tracy accept him when he fell in love with her six years ago?

It was because, at that time, William’s uncle had already been dismissed from his position as the president of the Hawk Group due to negligence of duty. William’s father had taken over as the president of the Hawk Group for over seven years.

At that time, the second branch of the Hawk family was enjoying immense prestige.

Therefore, without hesitation, Tracy chose to become William’s girlfriend.

Afterward, William went abroad to study, and Tracy also went abroad for her studies. They continued their relationship while studying.

Four years ago, when William returned from studying abroad, he joined the Hawk Group.

Chapter 23

Upon joining the Hawk Group, he became the deputy general manager of the Hawk Group’s headquarters.

Additionally, Barron, the eldest son of William’s uncle, was a deputy general manager.

They held the same position, but they were responsible for managing different subsidiary companies of the group. That naturally led to a competitive dynamic.

William’s performance and capabilities far surpassed Barron’s.

Moreover, William’s father was the president of the Hawk Group. Given this situation, it was highly likely that William would become the future heir of the Hawk Group.

So Tracy waited for William to propose, and then she would become Mrs. Hawk.

She even started taking care of her health two years ago, preparing to conceive and have children immediately after getting

married.

In prestigious families like the Hawk family, offspring were of utmost importance.

To secure her position in a wealthy family, it was best for a woman to have children every year.

Having multiple sons would ensure her position in the family.

To put it bluntly, even if she aged and lost her allure in the future, and even if her husband was seduced by outside. temptations, as long as she had several sons, the family wealth would still belong to her sons.

As long as she maintained the marriage and had wealth and status, love was completely unimportant to her.

However, to Tracy’s surprise, things didn’t go as she planned. Last year, William’s father suddenly had a heart attack and passed away.

They didn’t even have time to rush him to the hospital before he took his last breath.

Last year, William was immersed in a constant state of sadness and depression throughout the entire year.

This year, William finally managed to pull himself together and proposed to Tracy.

And Tracy agreed.

William began planning the wedding, and she eagerly awaited the day.

However, Tracy’s grandmother informed her that Arthur was considering reinstating William’s uncle, Xavier.

If that were the case, the second branch of the family would have no chance.

After all, Xavier had two sons.

And both of them were hardworking individuals.

Essentially, the main branch of the Hawk family consisted of Xavier and his two sons.

But the second branch only had William.

Moreover, when it came to family affairs, William’s aunt took care of everything. William’s mother was a non–confrontational person and couldn’t be relied upon to support William.

After hearing her grandmother’s analysis, Tracy promptly found an excuse to go abroad.

However, she didn’t break up with William. She intended to take things step by step. She would keep William hanging on. If William lost his position, she would break up with him. If he gained power, then, of course, she would choose to marry him.

However, unexpectedly, William forced her to make a choice between getting married and breaking up. If she went abroad, they would break up.

She stubbornly went abroad.

She believed that William would come and appease her, just as he had done during previous arguments.

To her surprise, he turned around and got married to a stranger.

“Tracy, what’s wrong with you?” Tracy’s friend noticed Tracy’s absent–mindedness and waved her hand in front of Tracy’s eyes.

Tracy quickly snapped out of her thoughts and let out a sigh. Tracy was listless.

She felt restless and conflicted.

She did have a way to win back William.

However, it was a drastic measure. Once she succeeded, there would be no turning back. Throughout their six–year relationship. Tracy had never fully given herself to William. Whenever William had thoughts about taking their relationship further, she had always refused.

Chapter 23

As she said she wanted to save the best for their wedding night, William showed great restraint and respected her wishes.

If she gave herself to him now, William would surely take responsibility for their relationship.

At worst, they could provide compensation to Vanessa.

In Tracy’s view, when it came to emotions, it was her who William loved.

But she was afraid that even if she managed to win William back, he wouldn’t ultimately become the successor of the Hawk Group. Then wouldn’t it all be in vain?

Tracy, it makes me so angry seeing them so close,” Tracy’s friend said with frustration.

“Miley, pour me a drink. Tracy said in a somewhat despondent tone.

Her friend immediately poured her a drink.

Tracy lifted the glass and finished it in one gulp.

Suddenly, a notification sound could be heard.

It was her phone.

She frowned impatiently and glanced at it.

It was a message from her grandmother. [William has won the bid for the land in the southern suburbs and signed another international project. Arthur won’t be reinstating Xavier.]

Tracy’s spirit lifted as she read the message on WhatsApp. She immediately sent a message to her grandmother. [Really?]

Her grandmother responded to Tracy’s question. [Yes. After all, the family’s business will ultimately rely on the younger generation to manage and inherit.]

Tracy quickly replied with a message. [I see, Grandma.]

After Tracy put away her phone, her previously furrowed brow completely relaxed. A smile returned to her face.

“Tracy, what good news do you have? Did your design win an award again?” Tracy’s friend asked.
