“Becky, if we wanted to take Lily from you, we would have done it from the beginning. Besides, why would we do that? Not to boast, but our family is one of the wealthiest in Boston. We have no motivation that would harm you or Lily, but the decision hands. You know you can cancel this wedding anytime, and that’s okay,” Sean said

“Don’t worry, everything will be alright. Do you want to do a video call with Becky- Brush? Some of them are gathering at someone’s house to watch the live streaming of your wedding,” Cassie said, smiling broadly.

Cassie cleared her throat, “Actually, it was my idea, just for our internal group chat. Um, sorry, I should have talked to you first, but you know what? I can cancel it if you

don’t like the idea,” she said, her face turning pale with fear that her idol would be angry and disappointed with her.

Seeing Cassie’s reaction made Rebecca feel bad about canceling the live stream. She finally sighed and nodded, “No, it’s fine.”

“Really? Thank you, Becky! I knew I wasn’t wrong in choosing you as my idol! Want to do a quick video call? We still have ten minutes before the ceremony starts,” Cassie babbled, pulling her phone out of her small bag.

Rebecca nodded, “Sure, maybe it could be a mood booster for me,” she said. Secretly, she pitied herself because she realized she didn’t have anyone she could truly confide in.

Soon, the video call was connected, and Rebecca could see about fifty people gathered in a place that looked like a backyard.

“Guys, how’s it going there? Having fun?” Cassie greeted, still hiding Rebecca from the

camera.

“Yeah, we just finished a swimming race! Lots of food and drinks! When will the event start?” one of them asked, their voice competing with the noise in the background.

“In ten minutes. Caitlyn, can you connect my video call to the big screen? There’s something I want you all to see,” Cassie said, holding back a smile.

“What? Okay, okay, wait!” The woman named Caitlyn disappeared from the screen for a moment and soon returned, slightly out of breath. “Done! What do you want us to see? It’s better be good because you’ve made the whole group curious,” she said, switching her camera to the rear one to show people starting to focus on the screen still showing Cassie’s face.

“Okay, I’ll make it fast, we don’t have much time because the ceremony will start soon. So here we

go, one, two, three…”

Cassie handed her phone to Rebecca, who immediately smiled nervously in front of the camera. It took a few seconds for them to realize that Becky–Blushoff was doing a video call with them.

Rebecca looked at them with teary eyes. She cleared her throat softly, “Hi guys, I’m really speechless.”

They cheered loudly, then quicted again as Caitlyn raised her hand and glared at them.

“I always knew I had millions of followers on social media, but I never knew some of them were truly my supporters,” Rebecca said, her voice choking. She blinked. repeatedly, trying not to cry as she didn’t want to ruin her makeup.

“To be honest, I’m very nervous today, I think you know why, and seeing you all gathered there to support me really makes me feel better. I feel happy to have a group of people I can call family.”

A loud applause was heard from the other side, some of them crying too.

“Becky, I’m speaking on behalf of the Brushes here. We want you to know that we believe in you and fully support you. We want you to know that most of us come from the same background as you. We all grew up in orphanages like you, that’s what unites us and makes us feel you are part of us. So, listen, you are not alone! You have us, your Brushes!”

Rebecca couldn’t hold back her tears. On the other side, Cassie quickly took out a tissue and handed it to her. They ended the call a few seconds later, just as a wedding organizer staff member appeared and called Rebecca to get ready.

“Becky, I will watch over Lily, don’t worry, good luck!” Cassie whispered with a big smile. Rebecca felt much better afterward, realizing that the burden on her chest had to be released, holding it back would only make it pile up and explode.

She stood at the entrance of the church, with no one to walk her down the aisle because she didn’t have any family or male friends. But suddenly, “Becky!”

Rebecca turned to the voice and saw Jacob running towards her. She stared, “Jacob? What are you doing here?”

Jacob took a deep breath, “You came back to New York without telling me? You really disappointed me,” he said, making Rebecca swallow hard, not knowing what to say.

“Anyway, I’ll walk you down the aisle, only if you don’t mind,” Jacob added, looking at the wedding organizer staff and Rebecca alternately.
