Chapter 1140 Bart and Haiden Six (2)
"Thank you," Valery said as she got off the car. "I still have other things to do."
Haiden was not sure what else she had to do, but a woman who could organize her emotions in a short time undoubtedly had a strong heart.
Haiden called his assistant in the car, "Come over to Andrew's house later and keep an eye on Valery."
When Gerald heard this, he could not help but lower his voice and ask, "What's wrong, boss? Valery is a spy?"
Haiden did not explain too much. "Just come and keep an eye on her. Drive her back if she needs it."
"Understood."
The facts proved that Haiden was overthinking.
Valery did not get herself drunk. She did her job as an assistant and helped Andrew greet the guests, and register the gifts he got, and the guests' names.
Then, she helped Andrew host. When the guest left, she arranged for someone to drive the car over.
She finished everything she could do for Andrew, then she wrote her name and gift in the last grid of the gift register.
"Valery, tie."
This was the eighth tie she had given to Andrew.
She did so from the year she was eighteen till now.
Andrew had only worn the ties from her a few times. However, she only wore the necklace and earrings he had given her on important occasions.
After Valery sent off all the guests, she took off her high heels and slowly walked to her car.
However, at the door, she saw Gerald.
"How come you're here?"
Gerald had been in the cold wind for several hours and did not dare to urge Valery. He could only follow Haiden's instructions and wait for Valery to come out. Thus, he waited for a long time. "Waiting for you." Gerald said as he opened the passenger door, "Get in the car."
"Why?" Valery stood still.
"What do you mean why?" Gerald rubbed his hands and said, "My boss asked me to come over to pick you up." As he spoke, he stepped forward and sniffed in confusion, "You didn't drink?"
"No."
Gerald thought about it and asked, "Then, can you drive back by yourself now?"
Valery nodded.
Gerald waved at her. "Alright, you drive back by yourself. I'm leaving."
"Fine."
When Valery drove home, he suddenly remembered a sentence Gerald had said before.
"Because girls need boys to protect them. Haiden said that. Also, the women in our company have to send a message to Haiden when they get home safely."
She edited the message and was about to send it to Haiden. At this time, the scene she saw at the hotel suddenly appeared in her mind. Haiden turned his head with blood on his face. The man lying in front of him was full of blood in his mouth.
Valery deleted the line of text and locked her phone.
After a short while, the phone vibrated.
She picked it up. The call was from Andrew.
She looked at the call for a long time. She picked it up slowly when he called for the second time.
"Where are you? Where did you go?" Andrew's tone was not very good. He had drunk a lot tonight, and his words were disorderly, "I called you twice! What did you go for?"
"I was taking a shower. I didn't hear anything." Valery lied with a straight face.
"Go and buy a dessert," Andrew ordered. "I want strawberry flavor..." A female voice came from the other side, soft and greasy. A moment later, Andrew said, "I don't want strawberry-flavored ones. I want chocolate ones."
"Your cook can make it for you." Valery stood in front of the mirror and pulled off the long dress she was wearing. Her buttons were broken, but she felt a little better.
"If I tell you to buy, then go buy!" Andrew was furious, "Hurry up, she's in a hurry to eat."
Valery hung up the phone.
She looked at herself in the mirror, closed her eyes, and then picked up the key on the table. Then, she walked out.
After the New Year, Haiden went to City Y and Happisland City.
He drove there and bought a lot of gifts. After visiting there, he went to the jewelry shop of the Alberton family.
Bernice loved bracelets the most. He picked a white bracelet. Emma preferred earrings, so he took a pair of droplet-shaped white earrings. When he saw other pieces of jewelry, he suddenly remembered Valery.
Seeing that he was staring at the rabbit-shaped earrings for a long time, the shopping guide hurried forward and asked, "Do you want me to take it out for you to see?"
Haiden put his index finger on the glass table and knocked, "No need, I'll buy them." He picked up the paper on the side and said, "Send them to this address."
"Alright."
Haiden was about to go out with the bag when he remembered something. He turned around and said, "Send a congratulatory card. Just write 'Happy New Year' on it. No need to sign my name." "Okay," the shopping guide responded.
Members of the Alberton family gathered together to celebrate for a week every New Year. Haiden used to be at home and felt that every day was like New Year. When he grew up and worked, he became very busy. He wished he could go back home and celebrate the New Year every day.
It was rare for Haiden to stay at home for a few more days during the New Year holiday.
Jaquan and Emma were not anxious about his marriage at all. However, Deon and Bernice were anxious every day. They were afraid that Haiden would not be able to find a girlfriend.
