Chapter 67

Eleanor Amato - POV

“Please place that table in the center of the glass wall,” I instructed the omegas. It has been a hectic two days from arranging the venue, bringing all the flowers in, and trying to complete all the small details as well.

“Ma'am, we are short of plates.” one of the workers came and spoke to me. I looked down at my wristwatch to see that it was one am in the morning and the ceremony would begin at eight in the morning.

“How is that possible? Didn't I give you the correct count?” I asked her, sounding frustrated, which made her look down at the floor.

“Y…you did, but…” I raised my hand, stopping her midway. There is absolutely no time to waste with arguments right now.

“Send someone to the human town to purchase more plates and other things that we have in shortage.”

“But, it's pretty late now, ma'am. Who would be open at this hour?” the omega asked me, sounding puzzled. I took out my phone and pulled up the number of one of the suppliers I know, and texted it to her.

“I have texted you a number, call that person, and you will get your plates. Now go.” I told her, and she nodded her head and left. I looked around the wedding venue to see that it was almost a mess with tissues, papers, ribbons, and damaged flowers on the floor. I looked around when I spotted an omega, so I motioned him to come.

“Could you please make sure that the place is clean before tomorrow?”

“Don't worry, ma'am. Once we are done with the arrangements, I will get the place clean.”

“Thank you, I will come to check on this in the morning,” I told him, and he nodded his head. I grabbed my handbag from the chair and started walking out of the venue. I looked around when I spotted a familiar car parked some distance away, and it immediately started moving towards me.

“What are you doing here, Xavier?” I asked him as I got inside. My feet and backbone were killing me, so the first thing I did was remove those high heels and throw them to the side.

“I couldn't sleep without you in the house, so I waited till you were done,” he answered as we drove away.

“You could have come inside.”

“I didn't want to disturb you. Anyway, how is everything coming up?”

“Good, and hopefully, it turns out as expected.”

“Don't worry, everything will be fine,” he said as he placed his hand on mine. He drove in silence till we came to his house. As soon as the car was parked, I got down grabbed my high heels, and walked into the house.

I placed my shoes near the doorway and made my way straight to the kitchen. Even though I had a hearty dinner, my stomach was still grumbling for more food. I walked towards the fridge and opened and scanned it to see what was inside when my eyes landed on a bowl of whipped cream. I grabbed that out of the fridge, placed it on the countertop, and grabbed a packet of Pringles. “Eleanor, what are you doing?” Xavier asked as he entered the kitchen.

“Making some food. Do you want some?” I asked him as I showed him the bowl of Pringles and the whipping cream that I had transferred to a smaller bowl. A weird look appeared on his face, and he shook his head.

“What is that?”

“Pringles and whipping cream.” I asserted, and a disgusted look appeared on his face. “It's delicious. Trust me. I have already eaten it twice in the past two days.”

“So that was why there was a bowl of whipped cream in the fridge?” he asked me, and I nodded my head. “I thought it was a fruit salad or something.”

“That would also be delicious. But this taste combination is heavenly.” I said with glee as I dipped a Pringle in whipped cream and brought it close to his mouth. His nose scrunched up, and he shook his head as he gently pushed my hand away.

“No thank you, you can have it, Ellie.”

“Your loss,” I said, shrugging my shoulder.

“If you keep on eating weird combinations like that, you might end up sick, Ellie.” I heard Xavier’s voice as I walked upstairs to our bedroom with him right behind me.

“I didn't get sick for the past two days, so don't worry about me,” I said with sass as I entered our bedroom. I placed my food on the side table and made my way into the closet. I grabbed my pajamas and made my way to the washroom. After a nice relaxing, warm shower, I walked outside to see that Xavier was already ready for bed, and he was browsing through his phone.

I made my way to my dressing table, grabbed an ointment for my aching feet, and made my way to my side of the bed. “Xavier.”

“Hmm.”

“Could you massage my feet? They are killing me.” I asked him, which made him finally look at me. “Please?”

“Sure,” he said, so I quickly gave him my ointment. As he started massaging my feet, I started eating my pringles.

“Why don't you lie down on the bed and close your eyes, Ellie? You look so exhausted.” Xavier suggested, and I nodded my head. I kept the bowl on my side table and laid down on the bed. The moment I closed my eyes, I was out like a light.

“Ellie, Ellie.” I opened my eyes to see Xavier standing there with a smile on his face.

“Good morning.”

“Good morning,” I mumbled, and when I was about to turn around to sleep, he lightly shook me again.

“Ellie, you know today is Rebecca and Ivan’s big day, right?” Xavier said. It took me a few seconds to register this information, which made me abruptly get up from bed.

“Shit! Did I oversleep?”

“No, it's only seven am. You can still make it to the wedding ceremony.” Xavier said while I quickly got up from the bed. The moment my feet touched the floor, I felt my head become dizzy, and I felt the bile rise up my throat.
