'Damn that fucking bitch who did this to us!' he thought. He was so glad Denise was sent to her relatives pack for the time being. He did not want to face her right now. He was sorry he even touched her to begin with. She seduced him at a time when he was filled with loss at not finding his mate and not thinking straight. He mind linked with Shane figuring he wouldn’t be able to sleep either and they agreed to meet and let their wolves take a run.

He mumbled an excuse to Kara and walked out the bedroom door. Kara hugged herself while she crossed over and sat on the edge of the bed. She was wishing desperately for her sister so she could have someone to talk to about the situation. Adam is turning out to be a good man and she needed a sounding board to figure out her doubts so she wouldn’t hurt him. She wished that her human part was as strong as her wolf but she still had gentleness in her. Maybe it all balanced out but her feelings were still tearing her apart. She cried softly in her pillow and slowly relaxed into sleep.

Adam crept quietly in the bedroom a few hours later. The run had calmed him down, he was considering sleeping in his own room but couldn’t face a night without her in his arms. He quietly stripped down to his boxers and slid into bed beside his sleeping beauty. She was sleeping on her side with her back facing him and he gently pulled her next to him. She purred in her sleep and pushed closer to his warmth. He knew she still had doubts about him and her own feelings but he was already in love with his wily mate. She had told him about the struggles with her wolf on their date and how her wolf is so hard to control with her savage side. They had been in many battles over the last few years and she still has nightmares of her wolfs savagery in the battlefield. Killing dozens of wolves with seemingly little effort. Kara is strong, far stronger than she realizes. The Goddess would never have given her such strong wolf if she wasn’t up to controlling her. He yawned and closed his eyes. He would need his rest. There would be plenty of excitement during the upcoming day.
