Beta Mates

The next morning Kara got ready for training as usual. She put on a sports bra and a gray tank top and black body hugging capri workout pants as well as comfortable sneakers. She pulled her curly hair up in a high ponytail and left the room to go get breakfast. Adam was nowhere in sight so she figured he must be on a run or already at breakfast.

She went down to the eating area and the buffet was already laid out with bacon, eggs, pancakes, waffles and all kinds of breakfast meats ready for the hungry pack. She grabbed a plate and got in line joking with the warriors that were also in line about having to have their energy up so she could kick their butts later. They guffawed, she was tall for a human woman at five foot eight inches but for a wolf girl she was on the shorter side. The ones that already tangled one on one with her smiled secretively. She was very strong and quick, they knew what the other warriors would be dealing with and knew that she was very capable of knocking them on their asses in no time flat.

She caught a scent and smiled when a large muscular arm curled around her waist. Adam reached down and kissed her neck sending prickles through her body. The other warriors growled at him good naturedly for cutting in line. He just glanced up and smirked. Rank has its privileges. He reached around and stole one of her pieces of bacon and popped it into his mouth. She growled at him and said “watch it, that is grounds for divorce!” He laughed and told her he would get her some more. One of the warriors handed him up an plate so he could start filling up.

They made way to a table and set down to eat. He looked up at her and asked if she was excited to see her sister today. A huge grin spread out across her face, “yes it will be great to be able to see her again.” I hope Shane cuts the training short so we can spend some time together. He laughed, “ well you might not get to see her for a while if Shane has anything to do about it.” He wiggled his eyebrows and gave her a smirky grin. “Thanks for that mental picture” she said dryly, “that is my sister you are talking about.” He looked at her heatedly “babe when you are ready we won’t be leaving the room for a week!” She gulped and blushed, her traitorous body started heating up and she had to fight it down or the whole dining room would know she was getting aroused.

“Okay, on that note I’d better go get warmed up for training” she got up and took her dishes to the kitchen and made her way out back to the training area. Adam smiled to himself, he was getting to her. It was good to see her squirm a little with the mate bond. He was more and more in love with her every hour and would be glad to finally be marked and mated to his strong, lovely, funny female. He could tell by her actions she was swaying towards his way of thinking.

Kara was warming up as Alpha Shane walked up to the training area. She stopped and said “If you have a minute I would like to talk to you about training for the females as well. With rouges and hunters around they would benefit from training too.” Shane agreed “they will not need any in depth training like the warriors but if you can give them basic protection moves and anything they want taught more advanced so they wouldn’t be victims. I want all of my pack to be safe, and that means I don’t want anyone vulnerable just because the old ways are still used. She nodded, “that is what I was asking for, with the females trained as well the warriors can relax a little and know that the cubs and their mates are protected, even if they have to do it themselves.”

“Start classes next week.” Shane said. “That should be enough time for you to show the moves to Adam and the other Betas so they can keep working with the warriors.” “Yes, stated Kara, your group is learning quickly, they will be fine with the Betas help by then.” “They have been the best I’ve trained so far. Strong and fast and willing to listen, even to a woman.”

Shane grunted at the praise, “I’ve heard you knock them on their asses if they don’t!” he grinned.

“Make sure they give you the respect you deserve”. She laughed, “I’ve been training since I’ve been sixteen and not many can get past me if they try. Shane laughed, “I heard your mate took you down yesterday.” “He cheated,” she said blushing hoping he would drop it, she didn’t want to acknowledge that he distracted her when he took her down. Damn his sexy body! Shane grinned and kept his thoughts to himself. He stepped back and let her get on with training since the groups were all here and ready to go.

She started them on their warm-ups and pulled Adam and the Betas to the side and explained she would be working with them on the more advanced moves so they could train the warriors themselves next week. Adam grinned, he loved having his hands all over his mates body even though it unnerved her. She was usually bright red and sweaty when they were done. His thoughts started turning to the x rated ways he could turn her hot and sweaty but she called them to attention so he sighed and turned his brain back to work.

Kara started showing the moves and body positions to the Betas and walked around to help those who weren’t in the correct position, Adam was out of position and she helped by pressing her body to his and was lifting his arm and correcting his leg placement with his own. Being this close to him was driving her crazy and he needed help with all the moves today. She turned and glanced at him and caught him giving a wink to Dave, another Beta. Busted, she thought, he is doing this on purpose! She called a ten minute break and sent Adam down to the kitchen for drinks and snacks. He went grumbling , not happy to leave her especially since he got her all hot and agitated. As soon as he left she called the other Betas and ran them through the series they needed to know. They laughed and didn’t have any problems with the moves. She smiled at them and told them to teach Adam the holds since he couldn’t be serious today.

When Adam got back with the snacks and the drinks he found out she showed the others the moves and insisted she run through them with him as well. She started sparring with him and he kept up with her flying hands and feet. He was good but she was more experienced and she finally had him pinned to the ground. They were both gasping for breath and she asked him if he yielded. He looked up at her and ran his tongue down her neck, she gasped and jerked away. He jumped up and pulled his arms over his head in victory! “Jerk, that is cheating!” she gasped. “All is fair in love and war baby “ he smirked. “So is sleeping in your own bed” she muttered for his ears only.

Shane started laughing, “is that what happened last time?” “No, Dave answered, he pinched her ass and she jumped”. Nobody knew that Shane was watching. Kara blushed and brushed the dirt and grass off her and she walked over to the Alpha. “He plays dirty, I don’t think he can do that to the rouges in battle but it would surprise them!” Adam grinned and walked over to the Alpha. Shane and him had been friends a long time. Shane shook his head, there wasn’t a kinder, stronger man in his pack than his Beta and best friend, he hoped that Adam and Kara would be a happy couple soon.
