Awakening The Storm

Chapter Storm 14

KASSIDY

__________

Six months after Kassidy's death...

He's here, in my arms, finally. His muscular arms wrapped around me like vines, holding me against his cooled body. His chin rested on top of my head, every once in a while his nose inhaled my scent.

The sparks were alive and bright as they danced between and across our bodies where they belonged. My hands played with the nape of his neck and his hair. A low satisfying growl emitted from his throat at my actions in appreciation. His larger hands drew small circles on the skin of my hips and waist.

My eyes began the close at the sensation and my body leaned closer into his.

"God, I missed you so much." I whispered into his neck. He hummed and kept stroking my skin softly.

"You have no idea how glad I am right now." Wren said.

"I never gave up on you, ever. I may have been chained and drugged but I still fought to find you." He continued.

Tears welled in my eyes at his confession. My heart swelled and quickened even more as his fingers gripped harder in my waist.

But that didn't concern my mind the most.

How long had this drugging and chaining been going on?

"Wren," I called. He looked down at me and grabbed my face within his palms. He nodded for me to continue.

"Where's your body, and the other's bodies too? I know you weren't alone." I asked.

He sighed and rested his forehead against mine with his eyes closed.

"Anais and I are together right now. We're stuck in a Labyrinth of old memories. I'm almost out, and I found Ben and Kash on the way." My heart quickened at the name of my twin and his best friend.

Wren notices my unease and sighed again, I already had a feeling it wouldn't be good.

"What else aren't you telling me, Wren?" Seriousness dripped from my voice.

He pulled his hands away, but still stood close to me. I had forgotten Noah was with us until he cleared his throat loudly to get our attention.

"Ahem." He pointed at himself.

"I'm sorry for not being pretty enough for your attention but I'm here too you know!" He rolled his eyes and pulled out a cigarette.

He waved me over and I lit my finger on fire as he brought the death stick to the flame.

I looked back over to Wren who wasn't too far away from us.

"This conversation isn't over." I said sternly. He nodded his head and ran his hand through this longer chestnut tresses.

"Long time, no see, Noah." Wren have a lopsided smile and Noah smirked. The two embraced briefly and pulled away examining each other.

"What happened to you?" Wren asked.

Noah shrugged and took a puff from the cigarette before speaking again.

"I tried saving Stylo from his lunatic of a dad and ended up getting killed alongside him. Well, a day after he died."

He shrugged again and puffed more from the cigarette. Then he looked to Wren again, looking up slightly since they were close in height.

"How is she?" I knew right away who he was talking about.

It took Wren a second before a knowing smile made its way into his handsome face.

"She's been through hell, but she's still fighting." A sad smile grew on his features as he spoke again.

"She's a bit weak right now since her chains were custom made and suppressed her powers." Wren explained. Mine and Noah's eyes had widened upon realization.

"What did they look like?" Noah had a small snarl on his face as he talked.

I remembered the old looking rusted chains. They had small and intricate designs and symbols on them too.

"They were rusty looking, had some signs and stuff on them that held her power in." He had a curious look on his face.

"Why, what does that have to do with anything?" He asked. Noah growled and ran a hand through his raven black hair and puffed more from the cigarette and sighed.

"It's the same from the ones that Stylo had on then." He stayed and I nodded. Confusion littered across Wren's gave at the name.

"Stylo? The real one?" I was confused now too. He knew about Stylo's real story?

"Yeah, his dad has him in a cabin in Purgatory. He chained him down in there and keeps draining his powers to use them in the World of the Living." Noah shook his head and gave a dry humored laugh.

"The guy can't even use his own power, but has to take it from his own kid? Pitiful." He puffed the last of the cigarette and tossed it onto the ground.

"So how can we get you guys out of Purgatory?" Wren asked. I looked him in the eye and explained our situation.

"I had to talk to you first, Wren. I needed to unhinge my powers and be able to bring your Astral form out of your body to here." He nodded and I continued.

"Then I have to get to Anais somehow and have her perform the spell to bring me out and back to the World of the Living again since I can't make a portal myself." I explained.

Wren nodded in understanding while Noah had a bored look on his face as he stood there.

"What about Noah? How is he gonna get back, he is a Vampire. And him being undead already should be enough to bring him back then right?" Wren asked.

I didn't really know what to say because I didn't know myself. I didn't ask Stylo all of the details of how Noah would get back.

"I'll have to hang onto Kassidy as she get blasted back into the World of the Living again. Then my soul will go back to my body." He added in.

"How are everyone else doing?" I had to ask.

They all fought so hard for us to all free of Styloneus' wrath. I have no idea what horrible things they have to go through now.

"Isaac is under the mind control and so is Kash, Ben, and Jordan and Kassandra. I don't really know what they've been doing since Anais and I are farther away from the rest." Wren answered.

I nodded and made a decision right there.

"We need to get back as soon as possible." I stated.

"What," Noah raised a thick brow.

"You have another plan besides the one we just got?" He ask skeptically. I nodded and crossed my arms.

"If I could bring Wren through space and time, what makes you think I can't move us to the World of the Living again?" I raised my own brow this time and smirked.

He raised his hands in defense and shrugged.

"Whatever you say, Sugar." He rolled his eyes and stepped over to Wren.

"You ready, Bud?" He clasped his hand on my mate's shoulder.

Wren shook out his limbs and nodded his head.

"More than I'll ever be." He looked over to me and gave a small smirk.

"Ready to come home?" He asked.

"More than I'll ever be."
