Alpha’s Rejected Second Chance Mate by Pradeep

Chapter 55

Chapter 55

Alpha Nelson’s POV.

“She is just like her mother,” Kyson said in a low tone while stroking her head. lightly. I gulped down the pain that I was feeling in my chest right now. He was right. Crystal was just like her mother, Catherine, when she was in her teens. I was still having a hard time believing that Catherine managed to save her daughter after running away from the captivity of her kidnapper.

“She is not only looks like her, but she is also fierce like her,” I said in a low tone, having my eyes on Crystal. “Do you think that I should tell the world about our real relationship?” he asked me and looked at me this time. “I don’t know why you hide at the first place, Kyson. His servants always follow both you and Killian whenever you go out of the pack. It’s like keeping eyes on the whole werewolf world in a way. Do you really think that they will not get a whiff about her wolf during her Luna ceremony, huh?” I asked him in a bitter tone, and he sighed.

He moved his gaze back on Crystal, and I scoffed. Everyone thought that I was the one who kidnapped Catherine, but the truth was that she was kidnapped by The Vampire King when she was returning to the royal pack after visiting me. Catherine was my first love. Even my wolf was also in love with her. We never got our fated mate, but I spread the rumours about me that I had killed my mate. For eighteen years, I did everything that the Vampire King asked me to do in order to keep Catherine alive. She was still in his captivation.

Kyson knew about this and once wanted to declare a war against the vampire king, but I stopped him. Catherine had been in unconscious state after she was captured again by the vampire king. He knew that Catherine was my only weakness and that was why, he played with me as if I was a puppet. The whole werewolf world loathed me, but I didn’t give a s**t about them. He let me see Catherine from time to time to make me sure that she was still alive.

“Thanks for keeping Killian safe all these years, Nelson,” Kyson spoke again, and I took a deep breath. “He hates me the most,” I whispered, and Kyson looked at me apologetically. “I told you that we should tell him the whole story, but you said that he is not ready to face the vampire king,” Kyson said, and a bitter smile appeared on my l*ps.

“He is ready now, Kyson. He has best friends like Edward, Theo, and William beside him, and a strong sister like Crystal. These pups are something else. They are not only intelligent, but stronger than us. They are quick witted, and above all,”

paused and a wicked smile appeared on my l*ps. “They know when to stop

playing according to rules. They are the rules in their own ways,” I answered him in a proud and confident tone.

A wide smile appeared on his l*ps this time. “Don’t you think that you should take part in the alpha’s meeting?” he asked me, and I clicked my tongue and looked in the other direction carelessly. “My presence can cause an uproar, and we don’t need any dispute right now. Our world is in danger as well as Catherine. All these years, I tried to find a weapon against them, and finally I managed to develop one. The only irony is that I used it for the first time on Crystal,” I said while looking at a blank spot in front of me.

Everyone knew that I gave my pack members to the vampires as a blood bag, but this was not the truth. There were several alphas around us who wanted to eliminate Kyson, and take over the Royal Pack. The Vampire King, Marcus, promised all of them the throne, and those stupid alphas trusted his words. All these years, I captured their spies spread everywhere, and gave them to the vampires in the disguise of my wolves.

My pack members loved Catherine so much because she was their last alpha’s daughter. They were ready to sacrifice themselves for her sake, but I knew that. Catherine would never forgive me for putting their lives in danger. So, we started playing tricks, and all of them helped me in this game. They trained hard, and did everything that I asked of them. They were now the best spies in our world, and even some of them were the best scientists. I had my own lab where they experimented all these years to find an antidote to the hybrids that Marcus was preparing in his coven.

“You don’t deserve their hatred, Nelson. You did everything in your power all these years to keep my family safe. They should respect you and love you,” he said. further in a calm tone. I blinked a few times before closing my eyes. “If we succeed in bringing Catherine back without any harm, that will be enough for me,” I answered him in a low and blank voice. “Nelson,” Kyson called my name after some time, making me open my eyes.

“Thank you, brother,” he said, and a small smile crept on my l*ps. “You know that I did only for Catherine, right?” I asked him in a teasing tone, and he smiled back. “Yeah… I know that you did everything for Catherine. Still, I owe my life, and I know very well that I can’t pay debt in this life span,” he answered me, and I laughed lightly. I didn’t answer him, because I didn’t want to continue this topic. He sighed and then looked back at Crystal again.

“I am having a bad feeling, Nelson,” Storm, my wolf, said in a worried tone. “You don’t worry, Storm. We have come so far that we can’t go back now. We will face everything that is about to come our way,” I comforted him in a low tone. “I am

worried about Catherine. Marcus would have known by now that we betrayed him he said further in the same worried tone, and/ed. “He can’t kill Catherine, Storm,” I answered him, and he frowned this time while looking at me in confusion.

“He can’t kill her because he also loves her. The only difference is that his love is laced with scheming and selfishness, while we are ready to sacrifice ourselves for the sake of our love,” I explained to him, and he took a deep breath before sitting down. The truth was that he had been injecting Catherine with some serum all these years to keep her sleeping.

I remembered that she regained consciousness after six months after her second- time captivation, but she sl*pped into a coma soon because Marcus asked her to reject Kyson, and accept him as her chosen mate. She refused him without even thinking once. Since that day, Marcus never let her wake up. Her antidote was ready now, and all I wanted right now was to go there and save her.
