Chapter 45
"And why?"
"Because," Hunter says, rising. This gives members more time to prepare for border patrol or other duties.
"The trainees should spend the morning with their families." Too many members get out of bed without saying goodbye or eating breakfast. -"
"That doesn't mean we like it." Hunter pauses. "Hunter," David growls, a menace in his snarl.
Hunter's lips snap shut, and Neme snarls.
"Pack member may seek a job to support themselves, their family, or others. it would help them pay their bills e. No one eats in the packhouse at night." "I get it, Susan. Continue." Jessica grins.
"Having a body medical checkup and seeing what we have in the pack." In case the old and the weak can't endure the hard training."
Jessica says, "I agree."
Hunter sits in his seat, an unhappy expression on his face. Everyone waits for him. He sighs and mumbles alright beneath his breath.
The unanimity of the pack's four most vital members fills me with joy. I grin excitedly at David. He's already staring at me, yet his blue eyes sparkle. "Because the budget is so tight, we may be able to borrow money from a neighboring pack. It would be a-"
"Are you kidding? Get a loan from the losers who damaged this pack?" My eyes hardly flicker as Hunter rushes from his seat, his brown eyes blazing an angry silver, and the desk is the only thing between us.
David growls, leaps out of his seat and pushes me and the chair behind him. Screams reverberated in my ears as my heart pounded. My name is called, but I can't get up. Fear has paralyzed my body. N. "Susan! Get out of the way!" Someone yells.
But it's too late; David transforms into a wolf right in front of me. The wolves destroy the phone and computer in their wake, tear files and papers, and creak the enormous desk forward.
I must safeguard David, I thought.
I ignore the trembling in my hands and legs and the buzzing in my mind. Blood is everywhere, and I'm not sure who it is.
The two wolves descend on the floor, shaking the furniture and making someone moan in agony.
"No, Susan!" Jessica shouts when she watches me sprint around the desk towards the wolves. Josephine and Neme, astonished, encourage me not to go near the fighting wolves. Josephine takes Neme's arm and tugs her back. David, the black wolf, straddled on the floor, growls. Hunter adjusts his body, creating a gap between him and David, clawing hard into his Alpha's chest.
"Stop!" I scream, kneel, and shove David away.
My hands are moist and harsh, and I push hard to stop Hunter and David fighting. I saw Hunter leaping off David and clawing at my face.
I scream as their claws pierce my neck. David snarls and pulls Hunter away, his chest bleeding.
When the agony in my neck throbs, I cry.
I can't hear snarling or flesh being sliced through the blinding anguish. Warmblood from the cuts makes my palms slippery, making it difficult to halt the flow.

I moan, clenching my eyes.
Someone is running to my rescue, and when they gently take my arm to console me, I know it's David.
"Jessica! Please aid me!"
I open my eyes, my teeth clenching to avoid shouting in agony. My hazy sight meets David's, and I see his worried brows scrunched together and slightly parted lips.
"I came for the first aid kit. Wear the outfits. "I can't look away from David, Jessica says beside.
"Hello," I say as I hear something snap-maybe the first aid kit or his pants?
But I can't hear him because something is pressing on my wound, I bite my tongue as the pain worsens.
"Yes, Luna. I have to clean the wound." the doctor says.
I nod my head. This hurts so much, I suppose. The doctor starts dabbing the blood away from the wounds.
My body flinches in vulnerable areas, and David has to hold me down to protect me from injuring someone.
No sign of Jessica, Neme, or Hunter. Only David and the doctor, who replaces the towel often as the blood from my wound turns the previously white material a deep scarlet. I try not to move my head too much in case I bleed again.
"I'm sorry about the meeting, Susan. I'm not sure what's up with Hunter lately."

I shut my eyes and cuddled against his bare chest. Reminding me of Hunter makes me tremble in dread and sadness. I shudder in dread, not knowing how deep his hate for me extends.
I find David's sharp jaw and cheeks stubbled, his dark brows wrinkled in fury, and his blue eyes fixed on taking me to the clinic.
He may be going through a challenging period, David.
David snorts and replies, " I'll have to speak to him." David's blue eyes see straight through me, and my heart flutters.
David stops walking and seems shocked at me." Susan, can you forgive him? What did he do to you?"
"You've known him all your life; I couldn't leave Neme. David, be merciful."
His delicate lips sigh, and he walks to the clinic. The front door is opened and the chilly breeze rushes into the heated home to relieve me.
David kisses the top of my head. I gasp in amazement when my gray eyes take in two persons sitting on the clinical floor outside my room with regretful looks. One is covered in blood and wearing baggy clothing, while the other is wearing a shirt and tight pants.
And Hunter, too.
When David arrives, they both look up, Neme away from her alpha and into mine.
She's scared.
My heart pounding, I stare at the vast syringe needle.
