Alpha's Human Luna

Chapter 39

I ignore her and concentrate on the distant joyous chuckles and murmurs. I chuckle along. A gathered group of youngsters, giggling and their eyes flashing with joy, awaits me in the rear corner. One of the toddlers on the carpet is in front of a young lady beaming with glee from a stool with crossed legs. Except for a lady standing a few steps ahead of us, no one sees Neme or me. She pauses, her heart pounding in her chest,"Hello Luna."

Neme stands silently next me,. Who are they?

"Hello," I say, smiling at the ladies and youngsters.

"Hello, my name is Miss Patty."

"Hello, Luna."

The kids say hello.

"I'm Ana, the business owner. Do you want to purchase?" Ana approaches us.

"I spotted your window display and hoped you sold lattenrs and other stuff for decorating full moon day." I respond.

"I have enough in stock," Ana smiles. She stands up, but quickly reverses her steps. "But I can't left my kids alone."

The kids must have enjoyed her playing with them.

Ana came back with some ornaments and lanterns.

Neme smiles faintly as she takes up a one.

"Beautiful." Neme says.

"This is the demonstration good, the real good will Probably a month. Because of the snow, it took sometime." Ana says.

My brows rise. "Is the snow creating delivery issues?" I wonder, a sidelong glance at Neme. She sighs.

Ana opens her eyes and nods.

I ask whether we can assist. "Exactly, the weather causes the delays. A truckload of food trumps a full moon daylights and decorations." Ana shrugs her shoulders and smiles mildly.

I understand I can't change her mind. So I browse for full moon festival decorations.

I paid, and Ana packaged everything.

I leave that bookshop defeated and saddened. I wish there were a method to avoid weather-related delays. If there are additional delays, how will Ana's tiny stores survive.

We enter the mansion, our arms trembling from the weight of the shopping bags and our feet aching from all the walking. Her shoes are off, and she moans.

"I'm going upstairs to bathe, then dine."

Neme goes by the kitchen while I go inside to check what Jessica is cooking. Jessica stands at the pantry door, chin rubbed, contemplative expression. She sighs unrelieved, as I dump my things on the kitchen floor. "Shopping tired?" Jessica asks, smiles and returns to her cupboard. I wrinkle my brows, puzzled until I hear loud footfalls.

David comes into the kitchen. He surveys the kitchen, stopping when he sees me. I scowl at my mate.

The card I used slipped down the flower, and his phone received a message that it was used up with 0 dollars left.

I thought he'd be insane.

He looks down at the piles of boxes on the floor,

David sighs and steps closer to me, but the luggage stops him.

"You should  ask me about using that card first, Susan."

"Didn't you give Neme the card, so we went shopping together!"

"I give you the card to buy daily necessities, not for squandering money, as a luna, you should learn to be thrift."

"look all that I bought are for your pack and families."

I sprint up, slam the door, and turn the knob to lock it, but David is already twisting the knob and pressing against the door.

"Susan, let me in!" David shouts at the door.

I clench my teeth and mumble obscenities as I lean against the closed door. My legs tremble, and I'm ready to vomit.

I hear a door open behind me, and it's David.

"I'm sorry for today." He mumbles.

"You didn't have to shout at me," I murmur tiredly at the luggage.

"I'm sorry," David says.

When I look at him, his sorrowful face squeezes my heart. But we're both at blame. I should've informed David what Neme and I were planning, and he shouldn't raged.

"I'm sorry I hurt you. I didn't want you to ignore me, Susan."I grab for his hands and take them out of his tangled mane. His huge hands warm my little hands. I entwine our fingers.

"We'll always fight, David. I'll be the one to chastise you for being a jerk, because that's life. No relationship is perfect or enjoyable. Never."

"Will I get in tonight?" He asked.

I roll my eyes in amazement and giggle. I grip his hands and draw him close.

My eyelids shut as our lips meet. When my lips touch David's luscious lips, a warm sensation spreads throughout my body.

David moves his hands away from my cheeks, still kissing me. David swept his moist tongue into my lips. My tongue moves in time with his. He then spread my legs and bury his face into my petals, licking them. The next day, during dinner, I feel obliged to begin decorating the pack members' homes.

David glances around the dining room table, expecting someone to reveal the surprise. David's blue eyes finally settle on Neme, making her quiver in her seat.

I sigh. "She won't tell you."

The remainder of the night's meal conversation returns to normal. Pack members thank Jessica for supper and take the leftovers home. Hunter rises and informs David he's going on patrol for the night before kissing his mate Neme. Neme's eyes glisten with adoration.

Jessica grins at me. Susan, don't assist with the dishes.

As a result, I rise and leave my empty plate and cup on the table. David groans and looks up towards the ceiling, asking the gods to stop him from joining me. Knowing David won't join me makes me laugh. I know he'll adore the surprise once he discovers it.

"Come on, Alpha."

David's protest raises my funny grin. "I'm not boring," he stands. The impulse to laugh is strong, but I tell myself not to laugh, grin, or smirk. I cough to hide a growing chuckle.

David's gorgeous face seems anxious, and I raise an eyebrow. "Do you find me dull?"

I didn't anticipate that from David. David usually ignores such remarks since he knows I'm kidding. Is David boring? He has the pack, training, and border restrictions to manage. Our disputes are the most enjoyable.
