Alpha's Fated Slave Mate

Chapter 63 A Pour of Cold Water

"What am I supposed to do if I'm found out?" I asked, looking to Harry.

"You just pretend to be my attendant."

Harry brought me another ordinary looking dress with a wide hat on it, which could almost block my whole face when I put it on.

I put on the clothes, walked out of the room, and Harry each searched one side of the room.

As we were preparing to go up to the second floor, we heard the voices of two people having a conversation at the stairway.

"He's so picky, he doesn't even eat the food delivered to his room if it tastes that bad, it's all wasted." It was a maid who was complaining.

"As long as he's alive, it doesn't matter much whether he eats the food or not." It was a man's voice that sounded a bit sarcastic.

"Well, Butler Picado, I will do as you say, please don't worry." The maid said to him with a smile.

A distant footstep followed, and Harry and I sighed in relief until the sound was completely inaudible.

"Kasha, the person they are talking about, could it be the king?" Harry asked in a low voice.

"It's possible, just go over and find out."

Harry and I walked over quietly, making as little noise as possible.

Around the corner, we quietly looked around and there were a couple of rouges guarding the outside at the door of a room.

We couldn't go in directly, so we had to find another way.

We rounded the corner and headed up the stairwell to the top floor. The door to the top of the floor was sealed, so Harry and I had to flip up through the window of the floor room. The good thing is that at the end of the corridor is a room with miscellaneous items, Harry took two ropes.

On the windowsill, Harry jumped up to the roof with the help of the window projection, and then I used the ropes to pull me up.

"Okay, what are we going to do now?" Harry glanced down.

"Secure the rope, then I'll go down and see what happens before I decide what to do." I said to Harry.

But the only place that could secure the rope was the base of the lightning rod on the roof.

Hope it is strong enough, otherwise this height fall, I even if not directly into a puddle of mush also have to become a vegetable.

As the rope is lowered a little, I am getting closer and closer to that room.

When I saw everything inside through a gap in the curtains, I couldn't help but freeze.

The tall, handsome king in my memory was now pierced by chains through the left side of his arms and legs, and the other end was fixed to the wall.

He was just a human being who could not break free at all, and his whole body was almost so thin that only a skeleton was left. His hair was longer, partly resting on his face, and he sat on the floor looking at the other side of the wall in disbelief. The hand that was pierced by the chain, the whole palm of the hand was somewhat twisted on the ground, I do not know what method rouge used to keep his palm still intact.

I gently knocked twice on the window, I remember correctly, the royal palace of each room, soundproofing are good, at least the sound of the room to speak, outside the door is no one can hear.

He seemed to hear it and slowly turned his head to look at me. But he just looked in my direction and stared, without making the next move.

I knocked twice again before he slowly moved his body closer to the window and reached out to pull the curtain open a little.

When he saw me, there was only shock in his eyes. He probably didn't expect me to show up here, but soon his eyes became vacant again.

I breathed out a few hot breaths on the window and wrote the phrase save you with my finger.

A bitter smile appeared on his face and he shook his head at me.

I was inexplicably sad at the sight of him.

Those in Navia were fighting for him, and for the dignity of the pack, and he had given himself up.

I mouthed out the window and told him that I would get him out of here.

But he shook his hand at me and gestured for me to leave.

Seemingly sensing my anger, he sat down and stared straight at me.

I wrote Navia and war on the window.

Again, I gestured to him that I would get him out of here.

He then regained some of his spirit and slowly took a pen out of a corner and a small piece of paper from behind a picture frame at the foot of the bed and wrote a dense paragraph on it. After doing all this, he moved with difficulty to the window next to the window to open a gap, the note tucked out.

At this time to rouge is about to exchange patrol time, I have to Harry and I left here.

Get the note, I signaled Harry to pull me up, and the king met eyes, he gave me a smile. But at this point, he looked so wretched to me, long gone from what a king should look like.

Harry and I left the palace from the route we had just taken before the rouge arrived here.

Away from the palace, I took out the note on my body. By the light of the roadside, Harry and I looked at the contents of the note, as if someone had poured cold water on our heads. He confirmed to us that the supreme leader of the rouge was his brother Sotto.

He didn't care about Sotto's attempts to overthrow him, and his reason for staying alive was, surprisingly, to wait to see Sotto.

Harry and I looked at each other and wondered if it was the right thing for us to venture into the palace to find him or not.

On the way to find Joslin, we were silent the whole way, things didn't seem to be going the way we thought they would.

Near the Freelancer garrison, I stopped in my tracks.

"Harry, you go to Joslin's, I have other things to do." I said to Harry.

"Where are you going?" Harry asked, looking at me.

"I want to go again to confirm whether that person is Salle, or Adri. this note, you give it to Joslin privately, and it is up to her to decide what to do. If she chooses to continue fighting the rouge, I'll be back." I said to Harry, handing him the note.

"Kasha, maybe he really isn't the one you're looking for, maybe he just looks alike and you'll be in danger alone!" Harry said to me with the note in his hand.

"Don't worry about me, even if he's really Adri, I won't lose my mind." I finished to him and turned to leave.

Harry stood still and watched me go away.

I decided to wait for the rouge team on the road outside Navia City. If he was Adri, he must have had the mark of belonging to the Hobart family on him. Before that, I stopped by and took two completed short swords from the nearby blacksmith store.

After the rouge invasion, those people had also fled, leaving only empty houses everywhere, with many stores among them.

I sat behind a rock not far from the road and looked over the road there from time to time.

They must have gathered with other rouges on their way to Navia, and the line to here must have been even larger.

I looked down at the two short swords in my hands and smiled.
