A Mother's Love

Chapter 65

Peter, Mister Blue and the Lost Boys were all present when Amora and the red skinned Soavas arrived.

Amora introduce Lous and his kinsman by name to the Lost Boys and Peter and they quickly intermingled in verbal and mental conversation. Lous mentally spoke with Peter telling him that James often spoke of him. He also told him that what he said was not on a positive note. Peter allowed Lous to scan him memories and get the other side of the story to clear up any misconception Lous may have about him. After filtering through Peter’s memories Lous got a much better understanding of James. He was more devious and ruthless than Lous had ever judged him to be. Even when Lous was full of the dark hatred he had for the blue race, he was never willing to take another’s life meaninglessly. He saw in Peter’s memories what had transferred from James mind to Peter’s. He saw the killings that James committed of innocent people to show his power so that others would fear him. He saw the rampage in the clinic and he felt James’s ecstasy as he did it. He also saw in Peter’s memories all the good Peter had done in helping the Lost Boys gain their freedom from Doctor Scull’s hold on them. Then he came upon the memories of Peter’s upbringing by May, Parker and Angie.

Here he found something that was so extraordinary to him that it made him want to be a part of it without truly understanding it. It was the emotion of the love of family that he stumbled upon and it filled him with warmth that he had never experienced before. He then felt it emanating from each of the Lost Boys and Amora. He knew deep inside that he needed to be a part of this family and would sacrifice anything to attain it. Even his very life if need be.

Amora slipped silently away into the forest just north of the clearing. She found a secluded spot inside the hollow trunk of a tree and sat down. She reached out with her mind and made connection mentally with Ragog. He never knew that he was the eyes and ears for Amora. She had used him for observing what was going on in the compound and to better understand Lous. Lous thought of Ragog as a trusted companion, much like a human does with a pet. There have been times were she had spent days at a time in control of Ragog to converse with Lous. Lous never suspected this was occurring. Even if he reached into Ragog’s mind he would only find the thoughts and memories of Ragog. She had hidden mental connection with Ragog in a small area of his brain that were protected by neuron paths that would invoke a fond memory of Ragog’s.

Ragog was sitting in front of the seat at the top of Lous’s tower. She could feel fear and a longing to be with Lous in his mind. She searched his mind for recent memories that could be causing these emotion and found them. Since Lous has been gone and no one expected him to return others in the compound started to torment Ragog. They all had a hidden dislike for Ragog because of his closeness to Lous. Now with Lous gone they did not have to hide their dislike for him and took pleasure in tormenting him physically and mentally. Amora calmed his mind by creating the illusion in his mind that Lous had never left. She took a memory that Ragog had of a conversation that he had enjoyed with Lous and made it seem reality to him.

Through Ragog eyes she could see a large crowd on the eastern side of the compound. On a second floor balcony she could see James and standing in back of him were Servalus, Decarto, and Becardas. She could sense a great tension in the minds of the crowd. It was a mixture of anger and uncertainty with an underlying tone of mistrust. They had gathered together to follow their chosen leaders who had preached to them that they would control the compound. Now their leaders have abandoned them for the one called James.

James held up his hands in the air and with the metal one gleaming in the sunlight he addressed the crowd by saying “My friends, I know you feel betrayed by your leaders, but they have not betrayed you. I have convinced them, like I will convince you, that by joining forces we can free ourselves from the hellish existence. I will open a portal and we will march together as one army to seek revenge on those that put us here. With our combined abilities there will be no one that can stand against us. We will crush them beneath our wrath and make them pay for the torment that they have put upon us. We will be triumphant in our quest for revenge against our accusers. They will suffer a slow and painful death by our hands. Are you with me comrades?”

The voice of Ragog rang out before the crowd could respond to James. “Whose revenge are you talking about, yours or theirs? These beings mean nothing to you but an army to sacrifice for your longing of revenge. You will send them to their deaths with no feeling of concern. You will use them then discard them when they are no longer needed by you. You also seem to think that you are the only one able to create the portal that will gives us all our freedom. I can honestly state that I have the ability and knowledge to do so.” Without hesitant James replied “If that is the case my misshapen comrade do so now and prove to us all your ability you say you possess.” Amora made the face of Ragog smile as she replied, “Who may I ask do you think open the portal for Lous to leave? You were still fumbling around trying to perfect it so it wasn’t you.” Amora knew that James would eliminate Ragog for making a stance against him. She would have to remove him from the threat of James anger or he would die for her actions. “I am still waiting to see this great ability that you claim to possess.” taunted James.

Amora focused her mind to open a portal to Neverland. She knew that Ragog would be safe from harm there. Little did James know that she would be aided by three of the blue race to open the portal? They had been assigned this task to aid her whenever she needed them. The portal appeared about a foot from the edge of tower where the body of Ragog stood. The look on James face was one of astonishment. He didn’t believe that this little misshapen creature had such abilities. Amora’s hope that James didn’t know about the need for three minds channeled to the Opener mind to open the portal. This would make him feel inferior to Ragog who James saw as a disfigured moron. “This can’t be.” screamed James. “What is the matter James?

Feel like you underestimated me.” replied Amora using Ragog voice. With that Amora had the body of Ragog jump through the portal to the safety of Neverland.

As the portal closed everyone in the compound looked on in amazement. Slowly the crowd turned and looked back at James. James could feel the doubt rising in their minds about him, but James knew how to handle this situation. “So Ragog has admitted to us all that he aided Lous in escaping. He is probably with him right now telling Lous everything that we plan to do. They will try to plan a defense again our attack. We must strike quickly if we are to succeed my comrades in arms. Prepare yourself now for the battle that will secure our freedom. I ask you once again are you with me?” A roaring cheer rose from the crowd in acceptance to James request. One started to chant and the rest followed “To war for our freedom.” James turned to the three prisoner leader standing in back of him and said “We have our army now let us plan our war.”
