A Drunken Decision ( Annabelle Ross )

A Drunken Decision Cynthia Chapter 107

Chapter 107

On hearing the words, Yolanda and Carly were stunned. Linda was utterly confused. Mary was different she could not help but burst into laughter.

She thought of the fact that she was the host and realized it was inappropriate for her to be like this. She endeavored to refrain from laughing and managed a serious expression, which soon collapsed into a brilliant smile as the next instant her eyes met her daughter–in–law’s.

“Ahem… Mr. Ross, what are you talking about? When did I…” Yolanda stuttered, forcing a smile.

“If Yolanda didn’t do anything bad, why would Eliza scare you?” Annabelle frowned and said primly, “You did it last time because….

“Eliza didn’t scare me!” Yolanda quickly interrupted her and said with a smile, “I was just joking. It has nothing to do with Eliza!”

Annabelle nodded. “You scared me. I thought she had done something bad again.“”

Yolanda fell silent, wondering if this woman said all this on purpose.

Having been a teacher for decades, Linda, if not smart enough, was experienced enough to read the room. She soon became aware that she had been misled by Mrs. Littleton and her daughter.

Alas! When she was young. Carly was so playful, and now even as she turned old, her personality didn’t in the slightest change. What was worse, her daughter was such a terrible duplicate of her.

At that moment, however, she ignored the mother and daughter and turned to Mary, continuing with the former topic.

“Mary, what do you think of what I said before? Don’t worry, I am so familiar with Eliza, after all. If she marries into our family. I promise we will treat her like the best family!” Linda paused for a while and went on, “You know my son quite well too; you know what a guy he is – although not mature enough, he’s a nice guy, that I can assure you, and he definitely won’t fail Eliza!”

Mary rolled his eyes inwardly. “Don’t you think that I didn’t see your frown just now,” she thought. “You’re very familiar with Eliza? Then why the hell did you waver when someone said just a few words against her? How can I marry my daughter into your family, uncertain if you really trust her?”

“Josh is indeed a good man!” While dismissing the proposal in her heart, Mary wore a smile, adding, “But time changes, and now marriage is all about the man and the woman, not their parents. Therefore, their opinions matter the most. If they got no problem with that, I won’t disagree, and if they don’t like each other, there’s no point in our talking.”

Linda was persuaded, knowing even if Mary agreed, she could not guarantee that her son would agree on it.

“Never mind, I’ll just let them handle their business,” said Linda, waving her hand. “I don’t care if I can get a daughter–in–law soon. Do whatever you want!”

“Don’t worry, Linda. With Josh’s good looks, finding a good wife is no hard work for him, so stop bothering yourself about it,” said Mary.

Linda was happy to hear this. Actually, there is not a mother in the world who doesn’t feel happy to hear others praise their

child.

Lucas raised his eyebrows, surprised that Linda would pair Josh up with his Eliza. The two of them were like brothers. How could they be together?

Annabelle was slow in her reaction. It wasn’t at this moment that she figured out what Linda meant. She thought about Josh and Elizabeth and decided that their personality was not a problem, but whether the two would somehow fall in love with each other was.

Love is, after all, a relationship between two only, and all an outsider could

As the guests were gone, Mary asked Elizabeth about her opinion.

“Atch and wait, not interfere.

After figuring out her mother’s idea, Elizabeth was stupefied, wondering why would such an awful idea suddenly strike her.

“Dou didn’t agree, right, mom?” Elizabeth looked at her mom and asked worriedly.

Mary heard this and darted her daughter a reproachful look, seeming to say, “Is your mom that unreliable in your eyes?Elizabeth heaved a long sigh of relief at this. She had just given up on Howard and did not have the mood to start a relationship with anyone else for the time being.

After all, falling in love with someone was sometimes too hard.

Fortunately, she had now realized her mistake and decided to quit such an expensive game. Elizabeth thought that if she had the energy, she might as well try to earn more money and work hard toward the goal of financial freedom.

As a matter of fact, Josh was a nice guy, at least he was better than Howard. However, she thought he was nice only as her brother, not as her boyfriend. More importantly, Linda was too austere, so much so that even today, she remembered the

terror of being intimidated when facing her. And if she still dared to love Josh, no one could doubt her love, but obviously, she didn’t.

She didn’t have the courage!

Therefore, she decided she might as well stay single..

Elizabeth’s gaze landed on Annabelle’s stomach. Look, she had two nephews! She made a decision to earn more money. And when she was old, she would let her nephews support her in her old age and give them all the money she earned in return. “What are you looking at?” Annabelle wondered warily, covering her stomach, as she looked back and found Elizabeth smiling mysteriously.

Seeing this, Elizabeth could not help but roll her eyes. “It suddenly occur to me you and Lucas should get more children.”

Elizabeth thought that if there were only two children, wouldn’t the pressure of retirement be too great? What about two more? And if it was four, her life after retirement would be much easier.

Annabelle didn’t respond, unsure what Elizabeth was up to. But childbirth was not a small matter, so of course she would not agree easily. “If you have something to tell me, just speak your mind. Don’t say something so confusing.”

Elizabeth pursed her lips. She felt that Annabelle was really not cute at all sometimes.

In the end. Annabelle her plan.

On hearing this, Annabelle quickly shook his head. “No, Lucas and I are going to stay in a nursing home when we get old!”

Elizabeth became speechless.

Mary felt a lump in her throat.

Lucas, who had just come out of the study, was too stunned, tried to recall when he made up such a big decision.

“It’s said that young people nowadays are under a lot of pressure! As elders, we can’t add to the child’s burden!” Annabelle said primly. “How about this? Eliza, you will stay in the nursing home with us in the future! You can live next door to us. Lucas and I will take care of you!”

Elizabeth didn’t know what to say. “Are we too under such great pressure? Living in a nursing home together? That doesn’t sound too bad. Alright then, when the time comes, remember to occupy the room next door and leave it for me to live in as I get old.”

Annabelle nodded, but halfway through, she stopped, and asked, “You’re older than me. Do you need me to save a room for you?”

“Alright, alright, we’re moving in together, how’s that?” Elizabeth choked and had no choice but to compromise.

Lucas looked at the two people who were discussing seriously and found himself in a dilemma. Should he tell Annabelle even if they did not go to a nursing home, they would not add to the burden on the younger generation?

Forget it. If she wanted to go to a nursing home, so be it. Thinking of this, Lucas began to consider whether to build a brand–new nursing home. After all, Annabelle would live in it, so the home must be a good home.
