it has been a month since the incident in the woods with Maverick and the Beast. I still spend all my time with Mav traini the pack during the day and with Ally at night. I have been avoiding the Beast at all costs. He has caused excruciating pai four more times over the month to the point that I passed out. Aurora is very hurt and whimpers a lot. I feel like a bad human to her because I am not good enough for our mate. The rest of the pack seems to have a lot of respect for me and love the new training. Beta Caleb tells us the pack has lost their respect for their Alpha but will still follow him for now. T Beast blames me for his pack’s disrespect towards him.

Mav and I had just finished up the last of the day's training and were heading back to the packhouse.

“ You going to join the pack for dinner tonight, Babe?” Mav asked me.

“Not if the Beast is going to be there, Mav," I said.t with him staring at me," I said.

Mav stops us from walking and turns me to him.

“Listen, sweetheart, you can not avoid him forever, so show him you are the strong woman I know you are”

He leans in and kisses my forehead.

Wrapping our arms around each other, we headed into the packhouse and headed towards the dining hall. I did, as Maverick said, and took the seat next to him. I see the rest of the people at the table, including the Beast, looking at me. take a bite of my spaghetti.

“You are to sit here,” the Beast says, nodding to the chair to the right of him.

I did not acknowledge him; I took another mouthful of food.

“Move to your proper seat NOW,” he raised his voice, making everyone freeze.

I do not move

“If you do not move to your seat, you do not eat’, he says.

I put my fork down and stood up. I could see a smirk on his face, thinking he had won. But instead of taking the seat, he wanted me in. I reached and took Mavericks hand.

“Ally Caleb, come with us, please,” I asked, pulling Maverick out of the dining hall. Ally and Caleb are right behind us.

“ What's up, chicky?” Ally says.

“You heard him. I can not eat here. I refuse to sit next to the a*****e who doesn't want me and keeps causing me pain.’ I said.

" 50 let's go, we are going out for dinner, dinners on me,” 1 said, heading out to my car.

Everyone gets in, and I pull out. Looking back through my rearview mirror, I see the Beast standing there with his hands i his pockets.

“The Alpha just asked me where we were going,” Caleb said.

“Tell him I said it was none of his business,” 1 said.

After dinner, I stop at a bar that is not an all werewolf bar. I had an idea I was hoping would work. With humans here, it w safer because if the stupid Alpha shows up, it is against our law to let humans know about us.

We got to the bar around 9 pm, and it was now 2:30 am. The two guys were starting to get drunk.

We are sitting at the back of the bar in a booth.

“ Listen, guys,’ I say

“Do you guys think of me as your Luna?”

“ Yes, they both answered.”

“Good” I smile

I hope this works.

“Then, as your Luna and a pureblood Alpha, I command you to tell me the Alphas’ full name NOW!"

Their heads snap towards each other

“I gave you an order, I said.

“ Fine", Caleb says in a drunk voice.

“It is Greyson, Greyson Michael Brooks,” he says.

I sat there with a huge grin on my face. I have got you now, Beast.

“Thank you, Caleb.”

By the time we got back, it was 3:30 am. Allison took the drunk, giggling beta up to their room. And I took Maverick to his. As soon as he hit the bed, he was out, lol. My plan worked tonight. Goodnight Mav, I kiss his forehead and leave his room, heading to mine.

“Where the hell have you been?” says an upset, Alpha.

“It is none of your business, Alpha.”

“ Wrong Payton, you belong to me, so it is my business.”

I laughed out loud at him, walked into my room, and turned around to face him.

“I belong to no one, Alpha” I slammed my door in his face and locked it.

Soon, 1 will be back home with my family where I belong.

I wake up, gasping for air. 1 am so hot; I feel like 1 am on fire. My bed and I are soaked.

“What is wrong with us, Aurora? Why am 1 so hot and sweaty?”

“ Heat Payton. I think we are in heat.” She says

0h, God no, no no... I ran to the bathroom and stepped into a cold shower. It started to cool me down. But then the pain hits. These pains are worse than the ones when The Alpha mates another. I wrap a towel around myself and head to my bed. I lay on the bed in a fetal position, crying through the pain. The hot heat is back. I mind-linked Allison.

“Ally”

“ Payton, what is wrong? You do not sound good.”

“Ally help me please”

Within a few minutes, there was banging on my door, but I couldn't move. The pain was so bad.

I heard a loud bang and crack as Caleb broke down my door.

“Oh, god, Payton honey,” says Ally.

“What is happening?”

“Oh god," said Caleb.

“What?”

“Do you not smell her, Allison?” He says

“Payton is in heat’

“ Oh god", Ally gasps.

“1 have just ordered a steel door to be installed asap.’ Says Caleb

“Her smell is going to hit every un-mated wolf in the pack”

I am begging Ally to help me. The pain is so bad. I heard you could die if you do not, mate. That each mating period will g worse and worse. Ally has not left my side. She wipes my face with ice water. The steel door was installed, and Caleb and few other mated warriors guarded my door so the un-mated males couldn't get at me. From the sounds of it out there, there have been a lot who have tried to get to me.

“l am begging you, Ally, let Maverick mate with me, please,” I begged.

“1 can not take this for 3 days."

“No honey I am sorry, but no. You know what kind of man the Alpha is; he will kill anyone who mates with you.”

Hours go by, and the pain is not letting up. It is getting worse; Ally is still with me. But I can see she is tired too.

“What time is it, Ally?" I asked.

“Just after 8 am, honey,” he says.

All of a sudden, there was a loud roar shaking the packhouse.

“Sounds like the Alpha is back," Ally said.

I did not even know he was gone. Nor do I care if he is back.

There is a loud commotion outside my door, and it bursts open. Standing there in the doorway is none other than the Beast. Oh god, I do not need his s**t right now. I can see his eyes are gold, which means his wolf is in control.

“Leave NOW, Allison” he orders,

“Sorry honey,” she says, kissing my head and running out to Caleb.

He slams the door shut and rushes over to me.

He places his head on my neck and inhales.

“You smell so incredible’

“Please get away from me, Alpha,’ and tried to push him back, but being in heat and in so much pain, I was weak.

“Why would I leave you when you are in heat?” he continues to smell me all over.

“I said getaway. My heat will pass. I do not need you or want you here,” 1 said.

“To bad little wolf” he says.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

I open my eyes and blink from the light.

“ 0h god babe, you are finally awake". I heard my best friend Allison's voice

“Water” I managed to say.

“Right here, babe, here you go,” she says, placing a straw on my lips.

I drank till there was nothing left in the glass.

“Where am 12"

“You are in the hospital, hun. You have been here for a week."

“A week?”

Just then, the doctor came into the room.

“There you are, Luna. How are you feeling?”

“ am not the Luna” and in pain and so tired”

“1 will give you something for the pain,” he says,

“You have lost a lot of blood, 50 you will be tired, dear.”

Everything came flashing back to me. The Assult

“And do not worry, Luna, the Alpha will find the wolf that did this to you."

“ WHAT?" I YELLED.

“IT WAS YOUR BEAST OF AN ALPHA THAT ASSAULTED ME!" I yelled at the doctor. He stood there shocked.

“But he said he found you that way!"

“No doctor, the Alpha did this to me.”

I could see the disappointment and disgust on his face. Then, he left the room.

“We all know The Alpha did this to you, Payton,” says Alison.

“He had confessed to a few of us."

“ Shocking”

“ He swears he was not in control, that the smell of your heart drove him and his wolf Akela over the edge.’

“Oh, please, I begged him, Ally, over and over, I begged him to stop. 1 would go in and out a lot, and each time I came to, was assaulting me’

“Maverick went nuts, and they got in a fight’

The door opens again, and Maverick and Caleb come in.

“Babe your awake, thank god, * Maverick says, rushing over to me.

He went to hug me, and I screamed. He froze in place.

“l am 50 sorry, babe. I was not going to hurt you. I would never hurt you” he says.

“1am sorry. I am just freaked out” I said

“I do not want to be touched.”

“You have every right to be hun and never ever be sorry for that. It is not your fault, ” he said.

The doctors have made sure the Alpha could not see me. Maverick was by my side every second. Ally and Caleb would bri him clothes and food when they came to visit me. It has now been a week since I have been in the hospital. They needed give me a blood transfusion. But now, my vitals and strength are back, and I am able to leave the hospital today. “Maverick?”

“Yes babe, what do you need?’

“1am leaving the pack, Maverick.”

He froze, looking at me.

“1 can not stay here with that Beast who raped me, Maverick.”

“Then I am coming with you, Payton.’

“What? No, you can not leave; you need to find your mate, Maverick. *

“ Sighs, I lied to you, Payton.”

“ What? About what?”

“1told you I had not found my mate, but the truth is I did. When I was 18, she rejected me on the spot.”

“ What are you serious right now?”

“Yes, I was always so embarrassed about being rejected. 1 just hid it. The only ones who know are the Alpha Caleb, Austin and our parents’

“1am sorry you were rejected,” I said.

“It is fine. 1 am 26 now. I got over it a long time ago. She wanted an Alpha, and she got one. And I want you, Payton, so please let me leave with you. I can not stand my cousin for what he did to you. I can not be here either or call him my Alpha!’

I finally agreed to let Maverick leave with me. But first, I had to do something. Ally and an omega helped me pack my car with my belongings, and Maverick put his stuff he wanted in my car.

“Wait here for me; there is still one more thing left I must do before we leave here forever," I said.

I marched up to Alpha’s office and barged in. I find Alpha Brooks sitting at his desk.

“Payton,” he says, shocked to see me

“That's right a*****e," I said.

“I am still alive”

He got to his feet and was going to come around his desk.

“Stop right there, Brooks, do not come near me," I said.

“Fine, what is it you want then Payton?” he asked,

“I want my rejection,’ 1 said.

He laughs

“I told you before, little pup, I will never reject you, you belong to me,"

“Then you leave me no choice,” I said, smiling.

I saw his head tilt to the side, asking himself what I was up to.

I stood nice and tall and took a step closer to him,

His eyes got big, and he fell to his knees, clutching his chest,

“How? How did you find out my name?" He asks

“I have my way, and now you are rejected, you Beast.”

“NO, YOU b***h, YOU CAN NOT DO THIS TO ME” he screams, still holding his chest.

I felt the bond break inside me, and for the first time in months, I felt free.

Goodbye, you son of a b**h. I hope the pain hurts. Do this pack a favor and go to hell

I turned and stormed out of his office. I can still hear him screaming in pain and anger.

I smile as 1 push on the gas and leave the Dark Shadow Pack forever.
