Looking around, everything is dark. “Hello? Is anyone out there?” “Z? Is that you?” Turning around, it’s Zack just the way he used to be.

Running up to him, hugging him with all my might. “What happened? Where are we?” Shaking his head, he said. “I don’t know. But I do know you have to go back. You can’t stay here.” “But why can’t you come with me?” “You know why. I’m dead, you’re not. I never wanted to leave you. Please forgive me.” Hugging him again, he kissed my cheek. “I will always love you, Zaphira Lane. Keep that baby safe.” Moving back. “I will. I will always love you Zack. I will miss you so, so much.” “Good bye Z. I’ll be watching over you, keeping you safe. I’ll see you soon, in your dreams.” “Good bye.” He vanished from sight and the darkness started to fade. “Z? Z can you hear me?” It’s Alex calling to me. Slowly he came back into focus, his face hovering over me. “Thank god! I thought we had lost you.” Sitting up we’re in the battle field. “What happened?” Looking around, all the rogues are dead, Zack is still lying next to me, dead. “Z what do you remember?”

Shaking my head. “Nothing. What did I do?” “You killed everyone. All the rogues, every last one of them. There all dead. But the fire didn’t touch any of our allies.”

“I did that?”

Everyone nodded. I can’t believe I did that, looking down at my stomach.

“Did you help me do that?” I got a response with a hard kick to my side. “The baby helped me do that to everyone.” My bump even got bigger since this morning. “Everyone is cleaning up, we need to get out of here.” Standing, I still can’t believe the carnage all around me. Looking down at Zack’s body; I can’t just let them get rid of them like he’s nothing.

“Can we take the body with us? I can’t just leave him.” “Of course. We will give him a proper burial.” “Thank you.” Raphe and Rolf went to get his body while we went to the car. Looking at everyone, there all covered in blood, but looks like there okay.

Violet took my hand. “I am so happy you’re okay.” “I’m okay baby. We’re all going to be okay. It’s finally over. Our lives can get back to normal now.”

Alex took my other hand, giving it a tight squeeze. Him on one side of me, and Violet on the other. Now with all the rogues gone, we can clean up this city and get it back on track. The wolves will get their territory back, the vampires will get there’s back. And everything will be fine.

Walking to the car, everyone we passed bowed to us, looking at Alex he leaned down to my ear.

“It’s because you saved us all. There now looking at you like there queen. Like they should, to the vampires I lead, you are there queen. And that won’t be changing anytime soon.” The car came into view, taking my weapons I threw them into the back along with my vest, it’s suddenly feels very tight, climbing in; Nick got in the front and we climbed into the back.

Violet took off her crest, taking my ring off. “This belongs to you.” She said sliding it back onto my finger. “Thank you for keeping it safe.”

Rolf and Raphe came back, but they didn’t have Zack’s body with them. “What’s going on?” “The body is going to prepared, and sent wherever we want it.” “Thank you.” We lapsed into silence for the remainder of the journey. Everything hit me at once, Zack is gone, and my baby and I killed all the rogues; now everything is going to be okay. “Hey I can see that your thinking way too much about what just happened. It’s all over. We can all get back to our lives. Everything will go back to the way it should be.” I nodded, he’s right.

I have my baby, that by the way my stomach is growing, will be meeting it very soon. I have the man I love, soon will be my husband.

I haven’t heard that voice in so long, that I almost forgot what it sounded like. She’s right; I was strong, I saved everyone I love, and that’s all that matters now.
