You, Me And Our Genus Twins

Chapter 502

From a timeline point of view, they were not a newlywed couple anymore. This wedding was like a restart button for their
relationship. Everything was as though they started all over again from the first night they spent together.
Sebastian was so enthusiastic that it made Madeline feel that she was lucky that she practiced martial arts and had a strong
body, or else she would be overwhelmed by this extra enthusiastic man.
At the same time, she found out that his personality was a little different from before.
Last time, she felt that he was a dignified and aloof man, but now that they were both in the room together, he always liked to
tease her and see her get speechless with her blushing face.
He has turned kitsch! Maybe it's a... genetic trait?
Philip on screen was a different person from Philip at home. Likewise, Sebastian in public was a different person from Sebastian
in the bedroom. The pair of father and son are definitely related by blood!
Madeline was lost in her thoughts as she washed up. They spent a long time together the night before. Because of how late she
went to bed, she woke up late. I can't believe it's past nine.
The man beside her was gone, but the children's carefree laughter and her youngest son's cute voice, calling for his father, could
be heard from the backyard.
Her youngest son's voice was so sweet that she could make a jug of honey out of it. Even though he was calling for daddy and
not mommy, her heart had already melted. It wouldn't be hard to imagine that Sebastian's heart had already melted into a puddle
of water at this moment.
With a smile, she changed her clothes and was ready to leave the room for her son when her phone started ringing. She took out
her phone and took a look, only to find out that it was a call from Jake.
"Jake?" She picked up the call without thinking twice.

"Good morning, Maddie. Did I disturb you?" Jake's voice was sweet and gentle.
"Nope," she answered. "I'm going back home tomorrow. I don't have anything this morning, so I can rest for half a day." She was
going to pray to Sebastian's ancestors with him in the afternoon.
This was the tradition of Dusktown. On the second day of the wedding, the bride and the groom's family would pray to the
groom's ancestors. And on the third day, the groom would go back to the bride's home with her.
"Good then," Jake replied, feeling at ease. "I need to apologize to you about last night. I'm sorry, Maddie, for causing you
trouble."
"It's fine, Jake," Madeline replied. "I wasn't able to help you either. Lucky that you don't blame me."
"No. You've done me a huge favor," he stated. "I'm fine as long as Arthur is fine. I wished for Allison to be arrested, but I couldn't
say such a thing in front of Arthur. I'm very satisfied with the result of your friend forgiving Arthur and sending Allison to jail. It's
the best result I could think of."
Then, he continued apologetically, "I put you in a difficult position yesterday by begging you in front of so many people. I'm really
sorry for that."
"It's okay. You and Arthur are friends. It's normal for you to help him. I understand that, Jake." She didn't take it personally,
responding in a calm tone.
If her firm's employees were the ones who got into that trouble last night, she would beg for leniency for them no matter what,
just like Jake did.
Yet, of course, her employees wouldn't do such dirty things, so she didn't need to swallow her pride to beg for a friend like Jake.
She actually admired Jake for that. A grown adult who was 6'2 was willing to kneel without much struggle. He was someone who
could die for his friend.

"No matter what, I'm really sorry for what I did last night," Jake said while reflecting on himself. "I put Arthur's feelings first
yesterday. I was afraid that if I didn't beg for him, he would think that I didn't take him as a friend and be upset about it, so I tried
my best to help him. However, when I returned and thought about it again, I realized that my action was akin to throwing you into
a fire pit, pushing all the trouble onto you."
Then, he continued blissfully, "Lucky that your friends are lenient enough to forgive Arthur. If they didn't agree to anything, my
action might stir trouble between you and your friends. The moment I realized this, I felt that my action yesterday was too childish
and that I had neglected your feelings. So, I must apologize to you."
Because he kneeled before Madeline and begged her, this left her with no choice but to help him to intercede with the Caesar
brothers.
The Caesar brothers were willing to forgive Arthur for the sake of Madeline. With that, it was considered that everyone got what
they wanted.
Yet, what if the Caesar brothers didn't want to forgive Arthur and Allison? What if, even after Madeline begged them, they still
refused to do it for her? It might cause a rift between Madeline and the Caesar brothers.
Also, Jake proved his friendship with Arthur when he interceded for Arthur, but what if Madeline was an overly reliant person who
couldn't stand his begging and interceded not only for Arthur but also Allison? The Caesar brothers would blame her for
betraying them.
With that, there would also be a rift between her and the Caesar brothers.
Everything ended well last night because Madeline figured everything out clearly and made the right choice, and the Caesar
brothers were willing to show Madeline some respect.

If any glitch happened within any of those parts, the result wouldn't be as optimal as last night.
When he arrived home last night, he couldn't sleep on the bed, tossing and turning with his mind occupied. The more he thought
about it, the more he felt that he didn't do the right thing.
He was too concerned about Arthur's feelings and overlooked Madeline's. This was not the right thing to do.
Although Arthur was one of his best friends, Madeline wasn't a stranger either.
She was the biological daughter of his adoptive parents. If this was put harshly, they shared a close relationship. So, he should
take her interests into account first before thinking about Arthur's feelings.
Nevertheless, his mind was filled with Arthur's feelings last night, causing him to not care about Madeline at all.
If his parents knew about last night, they would definitely be furious.
Although his parents loved him, their intention of adopting him was very simple. It was for him to play second fiddle to their
biological daughter.
His parents told him and Hanson all these clearly at the time when they were adopted.
The Taylor Family had many children, so they didn't need to raise another one. The reason they were willing to adopt them, love
them, and provide them with a comfortable environment to grow in was to let them become their biological children's right-hand
men who would help them and protect them unconditionally when they grew up.
Yet, his actions last night contradicted his parents' wish.
It might be because he didn't have much interaction with Madeline, and she didn't grow up in the Wendel Residence. This made
him overlook her real identity, which was an awful mistake.
Madeline was his parents' biological daughter, even though she did not grow up in the Wendel Residence.

Next time he encountered any problem, he should think about Madeline's interests and feelings first before he thought about the
others.
He told everything on his mind slowly to Madeline and apologized, "I'm sorry, Maddie! I promise you that there will be no next
time!"
