You, Me And Our Genus Twins

Chapter 484

"How can this be called thick-skinned?" Leigh boasted, "This is self-confidence!"
Madeline couldn't say anything in reply when she realized how it made sense.
After all the preparations were done, they were left waiting for the auspicious time.
Sounds of electronic firecrackers crackling could be heard from outside the window when the time was close.
As fireworks and firecrackers were banned in Wendel City, they had to replace them with electronic firecrackers.
However, the electronic firecrackers were so lifelike that one wouldn't be able to tell them apart from the real thing if they only
heard them.
Madeline didn't know how many electronic firecrackers the Wendels had prepared, but the sound outside was deafening.
Being the bubbly one, Myla was the first to hop to the window to look outside.
She looked on for a while before turning her head excitedly to Madeline. "They're here! They're here!" she exclaimed. "I see the
groom and groomsmen! They're so handsome!"
After pausing for a moment, she rushed to the door like a gust of wind and locked it. "We almost forgot to lock the door. They
have to give us an entrance fee before we can let them in!"
"Entrance fee?" Leigh scoffed. "Sebastian is rich enough to not care about a few pennies. He can even afford to give all of us
diamonds!"
Madeline was rendered speechless at that. Dr. Leigh Shefford, do you still remember that he is your master?
Leigh had obviously forgotten.
She was only excited about watching the fun now.

Footsteps could soon be heard outside the bedroom door before someone knocked on it. "Hello, hello, lovely ladies. Our brother
is here for his bride. We will be eternally grateful if you would open the door for us!"
At that, Myla cleared her throat and instructed, "This is our territory! You have to pay an entrance fee if you want to enter the
door!"
She started giggling by herself before the men outside said anything in reply.
Resigned, Madeline let her do as she pleased. It did seem fun this way.
The men, who had come prepared, quickly stuffed one red envelope with money after another through the cracks of the door.
After Myla and Leigh shared the dozens of red envelopes, they cheered, "We will find a boyfriend who is as amazing as our dear
brother-in-law someday if we bask in Madeline's good luck now!!"
The voice outside the door rang out again. "Lady, the entrance fee has been paid, so open the door for us!"
"No can do!" Myla replied again. "You have to answer our questions!"
She had a task that Madeline's mother had entrusted her today.
Aunt Crystal told me to make things as difficult as I possibly can for the groom who wants to take Madeline with him, she thought
firmly.
And since Madeline's mother didn't know Leigh and the rest of the bridesmaids, she had entrusted the honor and responsibility to
Myla.
I'll have to make things difficult for the groom before I open the door and let him take Madeline.
Knowing how the custom worked, the groomsmen outside the door went along with her. "Sure, ask away."
"The questions are not for you bunch; they're for the groom!" Myla asked, "Say, Mr. Groom, will you or Miss Bride be the master

of the house after you bring her home with you?"
The groomsmen outside the door all looked at Sebastian with teasing looks in their eyes.
"Maddie will," he easily replied. He didn't have the least bit of pridefulness of a man.
"Really?" a suspicious Myla responded.
She had never met the man before, but she had heard enough about his background from her father and uncle to get the
impression that he was a mysterious and noble man.
Would a man like Sebastian be obedient to his wife after getting married?
Myla highly doubted that.
"There's no need to wait until marriage. I listen to Maddie even now." Sebastian continued to answer with zero hesitation. "You
can ask Maddie if you don't believe me."
Myla then turned around and asked Madeline, "Madeline, is what the groom said true?"
Madeline couldn't help feeling shy about it.
After she recalled her memories with her cheeks flushed, she nodded. "Yes, he's right. He... treats me well."
Madeline wouldn't have thought about it if Myla hadn't brought it up. From the moment she and Sebastian got acquainted, the
man would always obey her without refuting no matter what she said.
Of course, one of the main reasons he was able to do that was because she was a reasonable person who would never come
up with unreasonable demands.
But no matter what, from the time she met Sebastian until the present, he had always been obedient to her, and would carefully
take care of her, never letting her have a bad time.

The thought of it warmed her heart greatly.
Seeing the gentle and happy smile in her eyes, Myla knew that the groom had told the truth.
She could only gaze at Madeline with envious eyes as she commended her for being amazing enough to make an enigma like
Sebastian listen to her.
Is this what it means to tame a lion?
Madeline is awesome!
My idol!
She continued to gawk at Madeline with starry eyes for a long minute before remembering she had a task, and so she eventually
resumed with her questions. "Now is the second question for the groom. Women can be somewhat delicate and stubborn at
times, and we're driven by emotions. What will the groom do if Madeline does something wrong after the wedding?"
"I know the answer!" The outside of the room became rowdy again when the groomsmen intercepted. "The standard answer is
that wives can do no wrong! If the wife has done a mistake, it must be the husband's fault for doing something that led to the
wife's mistake!"
The men started to chortle after answering.
"Shush!" Myla knocked on the door. "The question is for the groom, not the groomsmen!"
Andrew's laugh could be heard coming from outside then. "You're asking questions on the bride's behalf, and we're answering on
the groom's behalf! Is there anything wrong with that?"
The rest of the groomsmen echoed, "Not at all!"
Seeing how childlike the men were for playing along with a young woman, Myla didn't know whether to get mad or laugh about it.

She soon tapped the door a few times again and put a stern expression on her face. "Keep it up and I won't open the door!"
She had a special privilege today.
And she definitely wasn't the one in a rush!
The groomsmen's laughter immediately died down before Andrew's cough rang out. "Of course," he added in a solemn voice,
"our attitude doesn't necessarily represent the groom's attitude as well. This question calls for the groom's answer!"
He then turned to look at Sebastian, seemingly telling him to work hard for his happiness.
Smiling, Sebastian gently started, "Maddie is a smart and sensible woman. It might have been because of the ups and downs
she experienced in her childhood that she has grown up rather wronging herself than others. But it is exactly because she is too
sensible that my heart aches for her. I sometimes hope that she can be like what you said: a little more delicate, stubborn, and
emotional. I wished she wouldn't restrain herself so much. She is always lenient to others but harsh on herself."
Holding a bouquet in his arms, he stood up straight, and his relaxed voice sounded so sweet on the ears. "I hope she can live a
more free and easy life in the future. She can cry when she wants and laugh when she wants. I will be ecstatic if I get to see her
delicate, stubborn, and temperamental side. I will coax her from the bottom of my heart then and let her know that she has the
right to be all that by my side. Even if she is not perfect, she is my wife. That will never change."
