24- Twenty-Four - Felix's Point Of View.
Part of me knew that I was pregnant but part of me didn't even want to believe what I had read. Not really sure my next move, I was pretty sure it was time to tell Dakota. Not being married to him wasn't a big deal because our mating was the same as a marriage but deeper. My heart was pounding inside my chest, What would I say to him. Could either of us actually handle another child? a newborn at that.
Note in hand sought out Dakota. He was at the large pack table pointing things out to Leno on a few sheets of paper. He smiled when he saw me. His eyes quickly locked onto the coloured paper in my hands and his eyebrow rose up in question.
"When you get a moment Dakota we need to talk.”
"Alright. Let me finish teaching Leno the basics of some beta paperwork and then ill---"
"His mate can teach him, He is the beta.”
Leno blanched but tried to keep the small smile on his face. Dakota agreed and linked his beta to come and teach his mate the ropes. Diego let out a sigh but sat down anyway, you could see that Leno wanted to bolt and I couldn't blame him. Dakota and I walked to his office because it was pretty close. He closed the door and sat down on the couch.
"I take it that paper is what we need to talk about?"
"Yes indeed."
I took a breathe before I handed him the sheet. As he took the sheet my brain decided now was time for a flashback. The flashback showed Dakota holding Cillian and Fallon's son. He looked perfect with that child in his arms. I nearly melted when he held Wyatt for the first time. Dakota cleared his throat before he spoke as if the grab my attention once again.
"As much as I would like to tell you that we are keeping the child it is your choice. We both have a lot going on and I'm not sure adding a baby to it would be a great idea, however, it is a choice that needs to be thought out so I will give you time to-----"
“I want it."
I watched as Dakota carefully mapped his emotions. He then stood up with the paper in his hand and walked towards me. He laid the note on my lap before shifting and howling loud to the heavens. Howls broke out all threw the packhouse as wolves responded as to what I presumed was Dakota howling the good news. Dakota was going to be a father.
Oh, Shit...
My father.
I quickly jogged to our bedroom and pulled some thicker clothing on. I had a meeting with him. Now I could also tell him the news. Dakota blocked my path. I quickly spouted out about the meeting and such but he didn't move.
"You are not going anywhere right now. It's dark and cold, wait until morning.”
"Dakota don't, I mean it."
Dakota growled and remained in my way. I sighed.
"Dakota I swear to you ill be back in one piece, the baby will be fine.” Dakota moved slowly. I knew he was fighting his wolf who now wanted to hide me from the world till I birthed our child. He knew he wasn't going to keep me here though. I walked to the cave opening and dashed off into the snow.
My father looked annoyed when I tracked snow into his office in my home.
"Your late darling son."
"I forgot and was dealing with something important.”
"What could be more important then finalizing the new homing.”
" Well, this could be..."
I gave the coloured paper to my father who read over the paper and looked at me. he looked back at the paper. He reached into his desk for something. He pulled out a photo of my mother and showed her the paper before kissing her photo and slipping it back inside the desk.
"I suppose this is much more important, however, is now the right time Felix?"
"I'll never know until I try father.”
He stood up and walked over to me hugging me tightly.
"I support you always my son and you know your mother will always support you in anything you do."
