Chapter 271
Isaac glanced at Patricia, feeling aroused. If not for the fact that he had relieved himself in the bathroom earlier, he would definitely bed her now.
He ran his fingers across her lips. This woman was alluring with her big, bright eyes. Whenever they exchanged glances, he would always be smitten with her innocent-looking gaze.
Then, he pulled her into his embrace tightly. "Stay by my side forever, Trish."
A hint of dejectedness flashed across his face when he spoke, seeming as though he had lost her before.
A heart-wrenching feeling flooded through Patricia as she replied, "Alright."
At this moment, their hearts were close to each other. They knew that they needed each other's presence, and Patricia realized that she felt sorry for this man.
He didn't need anyone's pity. He was a powerful, wealthy, and bright man, and to top it all off, he came from a prestigious background. Supposedly, he lacked nothing.
They hugged for so long that Patricia felt soreness in her arms. Only then did he release the woman and stroke her petite nose. "Are you staying tonight?"
His gaze darkened as he spoke, which made the woman's heart skip a beat.
She shook her head. "No, I have to go back."
Isaac knew that he was nothing compared to the kids, but he decided to take it slow. There would come a day when he would earn a place in her heart.
Then, he brought her to the living room and settled her down on the couch. After he was seated, he pulled her into his arms again in a domineering manner, and it seemed as though she wasn't allowed to turn him down.
With that said, Patricia didn't want to resist him.
"Why don't we talk about you, Trish? I don't think I know you as well as Zachary does."
At the thought of this, he was a little displeased.
Seeing how aggrieved he looked, Patricia couldn't help but laugh. She leaned close to his chest and touched his wool coat. It felt good to the touch, and he looked dashing in it. "Zachary is not their father, Isaac. The kids just wanted to annoy you."
She had the urge to laugh whenever she thought of this. The man acted like he had been wooing her in front of the kids, but he got engaged to Adeline in secret. For one, the kids hated liars.
Isaac let out a breath, for it was just like what he had expected. "I know."
None of the kids took after Zachary. Instead, he felt that Scott and Stellan bore some resemblance to him. He put on a smile, evidently relieved, and his eyes were brimming with love when he looked at
her.
All of a sudden, he leaned close to her again, but Patricia ducked her head. "Hey, my lips are all swollen. You can't kiss me anymore."
Although she enjoyed kissing him, she was worried that things would get out of hand, just like what had happened in the afternoon. She didn't want to rush things over, for she enjoyed taking it slow. If she let the man have her so soon, he might not appreciate her.
Suddenly, her expression turned solemn as she pressed her hands against his chest. "Are you serious, Isaac?"
Isaac squinted and looked into her eyes. "Don't you believe me?"
His chiseled face was just inches away from Patricia, and as she gaped at him, she realized that his deep gaze was bottomless. How was she supposed to understand a man like him?
The deadlock persisted for a moment before Isaac released her.
The man turned around from her, which made her feel heartbroken. She draped her hands around the man's waist and pressed her head against his neck. "I believe you."
Regardless of what might happen in the future, she just wanted to be with him and appreciated his love for her.
Just then, the doorbell started ringing. Patricia let go of him. "It must be the kids. I'll take my leave now."
