Wolf Pack

Chapter The revelation

“Do you want to go back to the party?” Jack asked still stroking my hair.

“I want to be with you, at the party or here.” I said as I lifted my face to face him smiling.” Do couples re-party after Soulmeet?”

“Depends, some come back, some don’t, some wolves leave the party, others show up, it’s a pretty free night.”

“I wanted to stay here in bed with you longer.”

“We can do however you want, but I guarantee you we’ll do this many times yet.” He said hugging me one more time.

I felt like that was a commitment, and I liked that, it was amazing how Soulmeet just made sure that this was your soulmate and that you would spend your whole life with him, I really felt that.

“Then, we can go back to enjoy the party, we didn’t arrange that bunch of lights to not enjoy it” I said getting up and trying to find my dress.

A tug on my waist made me rise, Jack hugged me, pressing his body against mine, and brushing his lips lightly on my ear he said:

“As long as you don’t leave my side.”

His touch set me on fire, feeling his warm body next to mine made me lose control of my thoughts.

“This will make it difficult for me to want to go back.”

I smiled and he kissed my forehead, in a few minutes we got dressed and walked back to the party hand in hand, when we arrived he put an arm around my waist, and his other hand held my hand, that huge and powerful man, entered again at the party with me, proud of it, not like a trophy, but with the desire to show the world that I was his mate now.

Many eyes turned to us and glasses were raised like toasts in the distance, we found Hughes and Alina with Edward, their happiness was visible with it all, and he kept repeating that he didn’t imagine it and that it was almost too good to be truth.

I felt a different look on me, and when I turned around I saw Mina, her gaze as terrifying, and I knew why, I looked away. I would talk about this with Jack later, but before I turned back to the group, I saw a pair of lights in the woods at the side of the hall, they drew me in, they were mesmerizing, I suddenly realized they were eyes, they were gray eyes like mine, exactly like mine, they were very shiny, which made me think it would be a wolf really.

I thought about calling someone, but at the same moment more eyes appeared in the forest, dozens of them, all bright and in every possible color. I opened my mouth to say something, but before I uttered any words, those eyes came out of the forest, a completely gray wolf owned the pair of gray eyes, he was completely gray, exactly like my dreams, and he was coming towards me, in a blink of an eye became human. He was a grizzled gentleman, before we saw his nakedness another wolf reached him in a black overcoat.

“Um, and if it isn’t my granddaughter, right here.” He said as he straightened his coat and looked at me deeply.

Jack instinctively put his left arm in front of me, positioning himself in front of me and pressing me back.

“Otto, what are you doing here." Hughes raised his voice, and his husky voice echoed throughout the venue.

“I came to talk to my granddaughter.” Otto looked at me, as if he were going with me.

" Granddaugther?” I was really confused.

“Oh, of course your other grandfather didn’t tell you? Let me introduce myself, I’m Otto, Alpha of the Forsaken, and your grandfather, your father’s father.”

“My other grandfather is the Alpha of the Forsaken? And nobody thought to tell me about it.” As I said I turned back, Alina and Edward had their heads down, and Hughes had tears in his eyes, and sighing deeply he said:

“It is very complicated my child, but we were going to tell you.”

I had received a lot of information in the last few days, but this one was like a punch in the gut, my other grandfather orchestrated that attack, the Forsaken we feared so much was also my family.

“I would like to talk to you, tell my side of the story, what do you think?”

Otto said with a smile, but it was a smile that scared me a little. I didn’t know for sure, but I thought it fair to hear his side too.

“In no way.” Hughes said loudly. “She is not safe around you.”

“And why do you think I would hurt anyone, blood of my blood?” Otto said, almost provocatively. And I felt Hughes receive the words like arrows in his chest, he spoke lower then, almost in a whisper:

“Because she is also my blood…”

“I can hear you, but we talked here.” I said curious, maybe the conversation would bring me answers.

“No Luna, it’s dangerous.” Jack said as he was still standing in front of me with his arm outstretched protecting me, and I felt his fear.

“I’ll be here, 10 steps away from you, and if I ever get scared or in danger, you’ll know it” I spoke low enough for only him to hear, and pointed to his heart. “I’ll be fine.”

He nodded and lowered his arm, I was able to pass, and I went close to Otto, who was very close to the forest, he took three stepsback and we were already under the trees. My heart was pounding, I was afraid, but I also wanted answers.

“So what do you have to say to me? Was my father a Forsaken?” I was direct, and I wanted to get this over with.

“Yes my granddaughter, not just any Forsaken, he was the Beta of the Forsaken, son of the Alpha, our future. He met your mother at a Soulmeet, where he was drawn here, I thought he would bring your mother to our Pack, but they brainwashed him and he moved here, he became their Beta.” On that last sentence his teeth were clenched with anger and spite.

“Why did you attack me?”

“Attack? We really just wanted to kidnap you to show you how we work and tell our side of the story.” Otto said calmly.

“Kidnap?” I asked in disbelief that he said that normally.

I felt scared, my heart raced even more, Jack’s eyes met mine and he raised his eyebrows, as if he was communicating with me, asking if he should intervene, I shook my head slightly, I still had it under control. .

“Yeah, isn’t that how Hughes’ Beta got you here?” Otto asked, as if it was the only way to get me.

“No, he talked to me and convinced me to come.”

“Um, whatever. I just wanted to take you to our gang, so you could get to know how we live too.” Otto said, as he turned towards the exit of the forest, walking outside.

I took a step to follow, but a huge hand clamped over my mouth and another around my waist, pushing me against a tree, lifting me off my feet. He was a very tall and strong man, with thick eyebrows and a look of madness, yellow eyes hazy in a kind of frightening trance.

“Alpha told us that you could have a Soulmeet with one of us, how about me?” He said completely out of it.

He held my body with his hip and with one of his hands he kept covering my mouth, the other squeezed my breasts, I felt disgust and revulsion, in addition to anger and horror, I tried to scream but it was useless, I closed my eyes.

I just felt the weight of the man’s body disappear, and he was thrown into the middle of the trees. It was Jack. He then started to hit him while my body slipped on the tree, with no strength to keep me upright. Jack didn’t stop, he was taken by rage, and after the fourth punch the man was already unconscious.

“That’s enough Jack.” Edward spoke as two guards pulled the man out from under him, he stopped at the voice, got up and collected himself.

“You who like rules as much as Hughes, do you really want to break one of the most important rules of not having violence today?” Otto said raising his eyebrows, as if everything that just happened was normal.
