Wolf Bond

Chapter 81

Pulling back his head slightly, he sinks his teeth again. Wrapping his fingers around the back of my neck, he tilts my head to the side and pushes his teeth deeper into my flesh, while a gasp escapes from my mouth from the pain.

This pain is different, this pain is comforting.

Suddenly, my eyes widen as I start to panic as Donovon’s wolf is not back...

He can’t mark me without his wolf.

This thought is strong enough to force me to fight against the hold.

A cry bubble in my throat while a feeling of guilt drowning my heart.

How can I let someone else mark me?

“No!” A sob wrecks through my body while I continue to struggle.

A familiar growl halts my struggle as my body goes completely still and my heart thumps rapidly inside my chest.

“Donovon?” I whisper through the haze, “Wolfie.” My mind is a jumbled mess, while my heart is in a state of ecstasy.

He hums against my skin, as his thumb caresses my cheek in soothing strokes, silently asking me to calm down.

My fingers tangle into Donovon’s hair holding him against my neck while an approving growl emits from his chest, sending shivers down my spine when his teeth are buried deep into my flesh.

Tears spill from my eyes as the feeling of completion blooms inside my heart. His heartbeats are filling the gaping ache inside my chest.

Suddenly at the loss of connection, an involuntary whimper passes through my mouth when he retreats his teeth. His lips are again back on my skin, as he licks and cleans the wound. The lapping of his tongue on my freshly marked skin soothes the sting replacing it with a relieving sensation.

He peppers my mark with kisses as his chest rumbles with low growls.

My eyes are becoming heavy as the exhaustion starts to take over my body. Clutching his shoulders, I force my eyes to stay open as I look at him.

“Wolfie.” A smile stretches my lips when I notice his eyes are slightly flashing, an indication that his wolf is surfacing.

“My Wolfie.” My voice is quiet and heavy with exhaustion.

An unreadable expression passes through his face while gently cups my face in his hand.

“Go to sleep.” His voice deeper than usual, as he presses his lips against my head while gathering me in his arms.

“Don’t leave...” I manage to speak, as he cradles me against his chest like a baby while picking me up, “Please... Don’t leave me ever.”

“I can’t leave you.” He places his hand at the back of my head, holding my head against his chest, “Not now, not ever.”

Snuggling into his chest, I allow myself to be comforted with his warmth unable to fight the exhaustion anymore. My eyes close at their own accord while inhaling his calming scent, knowing that he will not leave me.

“I love you, Ivory.”

His words bring a smile on my face as the feeling of comfort engulfs me.

“I love you, too...” I reply, so quietly not knowing if he has heard me or not. “Donovon...Wolfie.”

However, the way his hold tightens on me says that he has heard me.

I wake up to the feeling of somebody caressing my neck.

Blinking my eyes to clear my vision, my gaze lands on Donovon as he runs his knuckles against my mark while his eyes are fixed on my face.

Leaning down, he captures my lips into a passionate yet heartwarming kiss. I kiss him back with the same passion as the humming inside my chest intensify.

However, when the air becomes the necessity we pull back at the same time. But, he continues to peck my lips, which makes me laugh.

“How are you feeling?” He slips his arm under my head as he pulls me into his side.

“Feeling like I am on cloud nine.” I sigh contentedly while wrapping my arm around his waist.

“You marked me.” I smile as I touch my mark which is still slightly sensitive and throbbing.

“How?” Lifting my head from his shoulder, I glance at him to watch him lost in deep thought.

“I don’t know.” He moves his eyes to me, “Something snapped inside me when I saw you in pain, and suddenly he took over.”

“So, now, can you shift?” I ask hopefully. “Do you remember everything now?”

He shakes his head, but the faint smile playing on his lip, for some reason, makes me smile too.

“My memories and my wolf are still locked under the spell, however, I can reach to him now. Storm is clawing to surface and he is getting stronger.”

“Wolfie.” I smile feeling proud of him as he is trying to fight back, while a feeling of being victorious swells my chest.

It is a big victory because from being nowhere we have managed to come this far.

“Now we should start to focus on shifting,” I say excitedly, “You should try to shift while I protect you and Wolfie from the cast.”

“Ivory, please, don’t use your powers.” He shakes his head and cups my face in his hands, “You are still not fully recovered, and don’t you dare deny that because now I can clearly feel it.”

“I can’t wait to see you in your wolf form, Donovon.” I whine but I know he is saying correct because I am still feeling weak, “I miss my Wolfie.” I glance down with a sad pout.

He lifts my face and forces me to look at him, my eyes widen in shock as my eyes meet with Wolfie, not Donovon.

“Trust me, I miss you too, Cherry.” He gives me a wolfish grin and engulfs me in a bone-crushing hug which I happily return with the same enthusiasm.

“It means you can’t shift into your wolf because the cast has blocked your wolf, however, now Wolfie can take over your human form.” I laugh loudly as my eyes shed tears of happiness.

“My Wolfie.” I clutch him tightly, “I love you so so much.”

“Wolfie loves you too, Cherry.” He kisses my head, as he rests his chin on my head while sighing happily.
