Wolf Bond

Donovon’s POV

My eyes widen in horror as she suddenly collapses, quickly I wrap my arms around her protecting her from falling on the floor.

“Ivory!” I hear someone screams, but my eyes are not moving away from her face.

“Ivory.” A guy kneels in front of me and pats Ivory’s cheeks trying to wake her up.

“Donovon, carry her to her room.” He briefly looks at me, as I frown not knowing how does he knows me or why he looks so concerned about Ivory.

But without wasting any moment, I pick her up as I watch him carrying Ella.

I start walking towards her room, but he stops me from taking a step further.

“That’s not her room.” He shakes his head, at the door in front of me.

But I know this is her room, I don’t know how I can tell. But I am certain that this is her room.

Ignoring him, I open the door and step inside. Immediately, her scent engulfs me, but what comes as a surprise is that even my scent is present in that room.

Walking towards the bed, I gently lie her down and caress her face.

“Step away from her,” That guy says, making me narrow my eyes at him.

“Donovon, please...” His tone slightly softens, but his eyes are on Ivory.

A feeling of jealousy stirs inside me at the way he is looking at her.

“Hold her, she will help you stay calm.” He gently places Ella in my arms.

As he moves next to Ivory and kneels beside the bed holding her hand.

“So much power,” He quietly says with a hint of pride in his tone, “They could not have stood against you even if you have just shown them just a glimpse of your power, Moon.” He smiles softly as he cups her face in his hand.

Closing his eyes, he holds her hand between his hands after a moment he opens his eyes and puts her hand down.

“Rest for a while, you need it.” He runs his hand through her hair, lovingly.

Then he stands up and turns to me.

"Don't worry, using so much power has drained her all energy, that is why she fell unconscious." He glances at Ivory, then back at me.

“If you hear, ten to twelve voices less in your mind next time...” He raises his eyebrows, “Then don’t be surprised, your Ivory has fried their brains.” He chuckles shaking his head.

“What did she do?” I ask looking at her because I could feel warmth consuming every cell of my body when she was holding me and still now I can sense the same warmth cocooning me.

Strangely, I used to feel this exact feeling sometimes, but they were not as strong as I am feeling now.

"They were using a spell on you which was hurting you as you were resisting it." He looks at me and Ella with an unreadable gaze, as a small smile appears on his face, “She has just intensified their power, which they were using to control you and returned it towards them, giving them the taste of their own medicine.”

"They even made your little princess angry." His smile widens as Ella snuggles closer to me, rubbing her face in my neck making soft sounds, "She doesn't like it when they were trying to hurt you."

I look down at Ella and kiss her hair as my lungs fill with her innocent scent.

There are many questions going inside my mind, but the more I think about them the more confused I feel.

"It means they were even hurting her?" I ask feeling livid that they were trying to harm my child.

"No, Donovon, not directly." He shakes his head, "But Ella can feel yours and Ivory's extreme feelings, especially when you are hurt or upset."

"From what I can see is that you both give her a part of your soul to bring her back from death." His eyes slightly narrow as his gaze fixed on Ella, "Her aura is surrounded by two more auras one is yours, and other is Ivory's."

"I don't know how exactly she came from being dead, but I am sure you both have brought her back." He nods his head to himself.

"How do you know so much?" I ask warily.

"I can see auras and sense people's energy," He informs me with a solemn look.

"Your aura is tainted, Donovon, because they are using a forbidden cast on you." His eyes filled with anger, "No one should have been allowed to access that cast." He growls to himself.

"Wolfie..." Ivory whisper, instantly getting our attention.

His eyes switch to Ivory, as all anger vanishes from his eyes replaced by a feeling which I can only figure as... love?

Swallowing he looks away, and his eyes lock with mine, and then suddenly he vanishes.

"Wolfie?" she murmurs again, stirring slightly.

Placing Ella in the center of the bed, I sit beside Ivory facing her.

Wolfie? Who is she asking about?

Tears slip from the corner of her eyes, making my heart clench painfully.

"Ivory," I softly call her while stroking my thumb at the corner of her eye wiping her tears.

Instead of waking up, she whimpers as tears keep flowing from her eyes breaking my heart.

Slipping my arms behind her back, I pull her to myself and hold her as she cries softly.

After some time her cries stop and she stirs in my arms, loosening my hold on her, I slightly pull back to see her face to watch her blinking in confusion.

Even with tears stained face, she looks beautiful.

"Donovon?" She looks at me in confusion and lifts her hand to touch my face, but before her fingers touch me she pulls back her hand and moves away from my arms creating as much distance as she can between us.

And this hurts fucking so much.

She wipes her face and conceals all her emotions behind a neutral mask.

"Ivory." I gently cup her face in my hand, "What's wrong? Have I hurt you?" As pain flares in my heart looking at her distant expression.

Pain flashed in her eyes momentarily, but as quick as it came, it is gone.

"No." She swallows, but her voice betrays her emotions.

"You shouldn't be here." She doesn't look in my direction, "Otherwise, they will try to hurt you again."

"What if I say I want to be here, and I am not afraid to be hurt as the cure of my every pain is in front of me?" I give her a half-smile.

"You don't even remember me, Donovon." Her lips twist into a sad smile.

"I don't remember you, but I do remember that I love you." I place my hand on her and interlocks our fingers, "They might have been successful to wipe my memories, but they will never be able to erase you from my heart." Staring at our joined hands, I can't help but notice how perfect her hand looks in mine that's because it belongs there.

My gaze lifts to meet hers as she is already looking at me.

"I love you, Ivory." I wrap my fingers around the back of her neck and pull her towards me, "I can never love anyone else other than you... no spell can make me love someone else when my heart already belongs to you."

"You will always stay inside here." Picking up her hand, I place her hand over my heart, "If you choose to leave me, even then this will always beat for you."

She clutches the front of my shirt and lifts her head just a little as she brushes her lips against mine. My heart stops feeling her soft lips pressed against mine.

The familiarity of her touch, the softness of her lips... floods my heart with different emotions, as memories of our kisses play in my mind.

Gaining courage, I slant my lips across her in a tentative kiss. Reluctantly, I break the kiss as I look into her eyes.

I am taken aback by noticing a mischievous sparkle in her eyes.

"That's not how you used to kiss, Donovon." She raises her eyebrows, "Maybe losing your memories, also made you forget how to kiss."

"Is that so?" Arching an eyebrow, I cross my arms behind her back so that she can't move away from me, "Then I am going to kiss you until you forget everything."

Leaning my head forward, I capture her lips with mine .

Her hands go around my neck, as she kisses me back. We both trying to express our feelings through this kiss, because I know words will not be able to do justice. The tears from her eyes wet my cheeks, telling me how much she loves me.

The voices begin to flow in my mind, but I tighten my hold on her and focus on the feeling of her lips on mine, ignoring them.

No one will come between me and her.

For the first time, I feel like they have no power on me and a newfound strength runs through my veins just because I have Ivory with me.
