Chapter 60
The wind caresses my face, as I push myself to run faster. The air feels cool against my sweat-covered skin. I slow my pace when I reach the ending of our territory and eventually, my feet halt when they near the edge of the cliff.
Running helps me to clear my mind, also this is something which even Fire enjoys as running brings in the feeling of liberation.
Wiping off the sweat gathered on my upper lip with the back of my hand, I place my hands on my hips as I overlook the horizon. Taking deep breaths, I try to calm my rapid heartbeat. While I can feel anger swirling inside me as the incidents of the past days play in my mind. My soul craves for blood, and I will only feel satisfied when I shed their blood. Only after that, I can ever live in peace.
After staying there for some more moments, trying to calm my anger, I decide to return home before everyone gets worried.
Also, there is someone who must be waiting for me.
However, as soon as I turn a hand is wrapped around the back of my neck and lips crash against mine.
Placing my hands on his chest I try to push away, making him smile against my lips as he continuous to press his lips on mine.
“What the hell?!” I growl as I push him away, “What is wrong with you, Micah?” I glare at the smiling idiot in front of me.
“How many times do I have to tell you not to kiss me?” I swing my fist at his face hitting him square in the jaw.
“How many times do I have to tell I can’t control myself when it comes to you?” He smugly shrugs while rubbing his jaw, “Your kisses are like a drug and I am becoming addicted to them.”
“I swear if you weren’t Ophelia’s son I would have killed you by now.” I huff and turn around walking away from him.
Ophelia learned about what has happened, so she came to meet me here and along with her she brought her son Micah. Micah has inherited some of Ophelia’s magic even though he is a werewolf, just like his father.
Ophelia confirmed my suspicion that even I was attacked, but since I am immune to the magic they couldn’t harm me. She said that she can sense the increase in my powers, but only I will be able to learn to use my power myself, no one can guide me, they will come naturally to me.
However, even after she had returned, Micah decided to stay here, because unfortunately, I have become the object of his interest.
“Learn to live a little.” He throws his arm around my shoulder carelessly.
“If assaulting someone by kissing them, means living.” Pushing his hand away from my shoulder, I quicken my steps, “Then, sorry I am not interested to live.”
“Assaulting?” He laughs and places his hand over his heart feigning a hurt, “You wounded my innocent feelings, Moon.”
“I will wound a lot more than just your feelings if next time you come near me.” I jab my elbow harshly against his ribs when he tries to wrap his arm around my waist.
He jumps away from me while chuckling. A mischievous sparkle appears in his eyes as he glances ahead then back at me.
“Race me back home.” Abruptly, he smacks the back of my head and starts running.
“You are dead Micah.” I growly loudly, as I run after him.
But a small smile threatens to come on my face when he turns around and winks at me as he vanishes in thin air.
Even though he irritates me a lot, but during these last days, he has really helped me to pull myself from my dark feelings.
Micah is already sitting in the living room eating grapes when I reach home. Glaring at him, I walk towards the kitchen.“You are a slowpoke, Moon.” He shakes his head at me.
“And you are a cheater.” I raise my eyebrows at him, “You would never win from me if you stop using your powers.”
“The only thing which I will lose to a beautiful girl like you is my heart...” His smirks, “Other than that I will never lose.”
“Moon... c’mon, don’t be mad at me.” He whines as follows me inside the kitchen when I ignore him.
“Why do you call me, moon?” My eyebrows pinched together in confusion because since I have met him he calls me, moon.
“Every person has an aura... the energy which surrounds them.” All humor leaves his body as he turns serious, “Your aura is white... you remind me of the moon.”
“But there is darkness around the edges of your aura... dulling your brightness...” He has a distant look in his eyes as he seems to be lost in his own world, “Even though the darkness is not strong as the first time, I have met you... but still, it is there. ” His eyes shift back to me, as he moves his fingers in the air creating small sparkles just like Ophelia has shown me once.
My lips curve into an astounding smile because I don’t think I can ever get used to their magic. It always fascinates me.
“Whenever you smile your aura shines brightly swallowing the darkness...” He softly smiles at me... a genuine smile.
“Ivory!” Jenna’s panicked voice comes from upstairs, making me run in the direction of her voice.
“What happened?” I barge in the room as I look around for the threat.
I frown when I find nothing, but my eyebrows raise in realization knowing what might have caused her panicking.
“Again?” I ask her and she nods her head biting her lower lip.
Closing my eyes, I let out a sigh as I walk in the corner of the room and pick up the cause of her worry.
A soft smile settles on my lips as I inhale the sweet innocent scent while looking at the reason for my living.
