Chapter 59
Donovon’s POV
I went back to the training ground because I need to train myself now more than ever. Without my wolf, I am physically not as strong as before and I have to make for my strength by training myself rigorously.
With each passing day, I can feel myself getting stronger, and also it is helping me to gain control of my mind, little by little.
I watch Cole training some warriors, this is the only chance I can get to talk to him without anyone getting suspicious.
“Cole, spar with me,” I order Cole as soon as I approach him.
His jaws clench in anger, as he stares at the ground, hate coming off from him in waves.
He gives me a curt nod and follows me to the empty side of the ground where usually I train.
My lips tilt in a half-smile when I notice he is taking out his anger on me with each hit and he is not going easy on me.
“Cole, I need your help,” I whisper quietly near his ear while holding him in a chokehold, “Please, listen to me once.”
He grunted trying to release himself, but I notice he is not using even half of his strength to break free the hold, instead he is mostly pretending to fight me.
A hope flares inside my heart.
“Something is happening to me.” I throw him on the ground and lunge at him, “I can’t talk much, but you have to meet me at the old border patrol post as soon as the night falls.”
“And please don’t take her name...talk about her.” I look directly into his eyes, praying he would understand what I am talking about, “I will forget everything.”
His gaze slightly softens and he gives me discreet nod.
The next moment, his fist connects my jaw as he throws me off me.
“Next time, fight with someone your own size, Alpha.” He sneers at me, however, there is a hint of humor in his eyes, not anger or hatred.
Without even looking back even once, he marches towards the other side of the training ground.
“Are you alright?” Emma’s voice comes from beside me, as I stand up and dust myself off, “Maybe you should strip him off of his beta rank, then he will understand he is nothing in front of you.” She glares in the direction where Cole has gone.
“I feel so bad for you, Donovon.” She sighs, “He doesn’t deserve your friendship, I knew from the beginning that he is just with you because you are an Alpha. And now he is trying to walk all over you when you are weak.”
Closing my eyes, I push my anger down because hearing her talk ill about him makes me want to kill her. But I know this is not the right time.
“I am going home... I just want to be alone for some time.” Removing her hand away from my arm, I head towards the home which doesn’t feel like home.
I anxiously wait for Cole inside the cabin, as I manage to get out of my room without letting anyone know. I have hidden my scent by rubbing a small amount of wolfsbane all over my skin.
If I had my wolf, then this would have irritated my skin, since my wolf is missing it hadn’t affected me.
More than half-hour has passed, but he still hasn’t come. As time is passing, my hopes are going down.
I sigh while rubbing my hands over my face, I slid down the wall and sit on the floor.
Some more time has passed when I hear two thud sounds, I internally groan hoping two hormonal teenagers don’t have decided to use this post to scratch their itch.
But my head raises in surprise when Cole walks with Wyatt.
“You have brought him with you?” I ask Cole in surprise while feeling happy to see both of them here.
“I don’t trust you.” Cole shrugs, “But I need to know what’s is going because you are not behaving like yourself,” he answers honestly.
I nod my head in understanding.
“What’s going on?” Wyatt asks directly, "I think you have figured that something is wrong with you." His observant eyes on the desk where I have written her name numerous times, just to escape from the hell in which my mind has been trapped.
"Somebody is controlling me..."I say.
"That bitch?" Cole asks arching an eyebrow.
"Yeah, but she is not alone." I nod my head.
"I black out whenever I say her name or try to recall anything about her..." My gaze travels to the name as my heart clenches painfully from being away from her, "She is my destiny... my love." My voice quietens down.
"But I can't even say her name..." I chuckle humorlessly.
"I forget everything when I try to recall my lost memories... when I try to recall her." I run my hand through my hair, "Somebody doesn't want me to remember what I have with her."
"But my heart, it beats for her..." I shrug, while a rueful smile settles on my lips, "Something strong has happened that has unlocked my feelings for her... and now even when I forget everything these feelings gradually comebacks to me."
"She stays here..." I tap above my heart, "And no one can erase her from here."
They look at each other and then back at me... their guarded expressions have visibly changed.
"You love our Luna?" Cole asks with a smile forming on his face.
I smile at him, realizing he has called her as Luna... that's what she is my Luna.
"With all my heart..." I reply confidently, "This love is giving me the strength to fight with my demons."
"Do you remember what you have done?" Wyatt eyes me carefully, trying to judge my reaction.
"I don't remember anything..." I shake my head, "Every time when I attempt to recall anything I pass out and when I open my eyes I find myself with Emma." My face scrunched up with disgust.
"She talks about our intimate moments, but I don't even remember any of those...." I pull my hair, "I feel disgusted with her touch, but I can't do anything about it."
"She says that I have marked her, but I don't remember marking her..." My frustration growing with each word, "How can I mark her, when there is someone else in my heart?"
"This only means that she is manipulating you to think that you both have sex and have marked each other..." Wyatt raises his eyebrows, "So it is possible that you never claimed her... that nothing has ever happened between you two."
His words ignite the hope inside me, that I still belong to her, my Luna...
I hope whatever he is saying is true because she is the one who has right on my heart... my soul... and my body.
