Chapter 36
“You are a fairy?” I look at Ophelia in awe, “A real one?”
Julia left to look after the preparations while Ophelia wanted to spend some time with me before the ceremony. So currently, we both are sitting in my room.
“Yes.” She laughs nodding her head.
I can’t believe I was trying to kill a fairy.
Abruptly, bringing her fist near her mouth and she closes her eyes momentarily, then she blows at her fist.
Suddenly, sparkles surround me as I levitate a little above from the bed.
“All you need is faith, trust, and a little bit of pixie dust.” She giggles.
Okay, so a fairy that watches Disney movies is my favorite.
“You are my favorite.” I squeal happily while moving my fingers in the sparkle and watch them gather around my fingers.
“This not what I felt when you were choking me.” She playfully arches her eyebrow as she brings me down.
“Well, you were hurting others, so at that time you were being a bad fairy.” I pretend to glare at her, “And bad fairies are not my favorite.”
She is actually really nice, completely opposite of the first impression that I got of her. So, I don’t get it, why she was hurting others like that.
“I am sorry for that.” She looks down sadly, “But I have to be sure that I am not mistaken.”
“The moment I enter the room, I could feel you are the blessed one.” She smiles, “But still I might have been wrong. So I cast a spell on you while trying to figure whether you are truly a blessed one, but it didn’t work on you. However, it affected all the people who were around you.”
“Which cast was it, that made them go screaming like that?”
“I swear, it was not a bad one. I only wanted you to feel like you are being tickled.” She shakes her head, “But when the first time I tried magic, you couldn’t feel anything. Then I increased my powers which they were not able to handle and you only felt a little uncomfortable.”
“Then how this time your magic worked on me?” I question her because just now she made me float.
“Well, it was because I didn’t use magic on you.” She waves her finger in the air, creating faint sparkles, “I used my magic on the air surrounding you.”
“So, it means no magic will work on me?” I ask quietly, still trying to wrap my head around all this.
“Yes, also you must be able to sense magic, good or bad both. It is not like you will see a red circle around the person who does or is affected by the magic, but you will be able to feel it in some way. Just like you felt my magic.” She shrugs as she watches herself in the mirror while finger-combing her long blonde hair.
Suddenly my eyes widen as I realize something. A little late but still, I realized.
“How did you know I have a blessing?” I quickly get away from her.
Donovon has told me not many people are aware of it. And I should not tell anyone about it as it will put me in danger.
“You have nothing to worry about, Ivory.” She smiles sensing my worry, “I am not the bad one. Just like you, I have a blessing to sense the other blessed ones.”
“Think of me as your Fairy Godmother.” She floats towards me and kisses my cheek. “But it is true, you have to keep your blessings hidden from others, as there are more bad than good in this world.” She sighs sadly.
My mind swirls with different questions some of them even don’t make sense. There is so much I want to know, there is so much I need to ask. However, the more I think, the more I feel confused.
“Ask whatever you want to ask.” She sits in front of me, “I can sense you have some questions.”
Will she able to clear my confusion?
There is something about her that makes me feel that I can trust her. So, I tell her everything how I met Wolfie, then later finding out that Donovon is my mate. Lastly, about my connection with Wolfie.
“I don’t understand, how it is possible that I have such a strong bond with his wolf?” I shrug in confusion, “Even stronger than the bond between him and his wolf.”
“From what I can understand is that when you met each other you both were looking for someone, who accepts you the way you are. This instantly connected you. Storm and his human side both were struggling to find a balance like every newly shifted werewolf, but their struggle was ten times more as they are Alpha. And just like all the new shifts, others were trying to teach them control by training them.” She holds my hand, “When everyone was forcing his wolf to behave in a certain way, you bonded with his wolf the way it was. You accepted him in his true form.”
"Don't we all need someone in our life who accepts us the way we are?" She smiles, "You made him feel safe to be himself around you. Unknowingly, by accepting him, you helped him to accept himself."
“That is why you both share a special connection. And this bond got even stronger as you have mate bond too.” She looks at me with a gaze full of affection, “Your hearts got connected in a bond which is nothing but pure... the bond which we call true friendship.”
“Even before Storm could accept Donovon, he accepted you as his.” She gently touches my face, wiping my tears which unintentionally roll down from my face because I could feel Wolfie’s pain for how lonely he must be feeling at that time when no one was there to understand him.
Donovon had people around him to whom he could talk and share his feelings but my Wolfie didn’t have anyone and he was feeling lost.
“For him, you are the one whom he can trust more than his human side... because you are his first and only friend.”
