Wolf Bond

Wet snout touches my cheek as hot puffs of breaths caress my skin, stirring me from my sweet sleep.

Raising my hand I touch the soft fur and instantly purring sound comes in my ears as Wolfie presses his head against my hand.

"Let me sleep, Wolfie." I sleepily request and push his head away, which makes him whine.

Turning around, I snuggle more into the blanket enjoying the cold side of the bed. Suddenly, he starts nudging me with his head while constantly whining in my ear.

"Wolfie, please, five minutes more," I whine in return, clenching my eyes shut, not ready to say goodbye to my sleep.

He, quietly, keeps his head on my shoulder allowing me to enjoy my sleep. When I feel myself fully drifting off to the sleep, suddenly, breath knocks out of me when Wolfie sits on top of me.

"Wolfie, you goof." I groan, "Get off of me." I try to push his giant body away, as I can't breathe under this mountain named, Wolfie.

Five minutes over. Wake up, Cherry.

His amused voice echoes in my mind.

"Okay, I am up." I shake my head at him, "Just get off me now." I dug my fingers in his fur and start tickling him.

Yelping loudly, he jumps on the floor.

"Somebody is ticklish." I evilly laugh and make a tickling gesture with my fingers.

He growls at me, obviously which doesn't scare me because I know he is just pretending to be angry and even if he is angry he will never harm me.

"Good morning, Wolfie." I smile and open my arms and instantly he walks towards me and keeps his head on my shoulder while placing his paw on my back.

He is such a sweetheart.

Let's go on run.

Wolfies says excitedly.

"Fire, wanna go on a run?" I ask my wolf.

No, I am not ready to wake up, yet.

Fire grumbles curling up and covers her eyes with her tail.

She is definitely my wolf.

I internally laugh at her.

"Okay, Wolfie, let me get ready." I stretch my arms above my head, "Then we will go on a run."

Now.

He demands and starts pulling my sleeves forcing me to get out of the bed.

"Let me just wash my face and hands, and brush my teeth." I scratch the side of his face, talking to him in a baby voice.

The very next moment he jumps on me and starts licking my face.

"Oh, God!" I attempt to cover my face with my hands and turn my face to the side. "Stop."

But he continues to licks my face and hands.

All clean.

He gets off of me and looks at me with what I assume a proud smile.

"Wolfie." I groan and stomp my foot as now I definitely need a shower.

You are clean now.

He tilts his head giving me a confused look.

"Yeah, all clean." Rolling my eyes at him, I walk to the bathroom to get a shower.

Wiping the sweat off my forehead, I place my hand on my hip while looking in front of me. Wolfie stands beside me watching in my line of sight.

All this ours.

He points at the vast land before us. You can't miss the pride in his tone when he shows his pack land.

After the run, Wolfie wanted me to see the entire pack territory especially the borders so that I know which area is safe for me to run and freely roam around.

This pack is huge, Donovon only showed me the main pack where all wolves lived. However, today, Wolfie showed me the borders and even the plain land which they planning to use to expand the pack.

I love running around here, I feel free.

He sits on his hind legs as I sit on the grass in a crossed-leg position.

"Even I would have love to let Fire out if she was not being lazy." I laugh because I can hear her snores in my mind, "She hates waking up early."

I will bring her, here, some other time.

He places his head in my lap and closes his eyes.

"Yesterday, I lost my bond with you for some time." I frown, as I remember not sensing him, "I couldn't sense you, Wolfie."

Did you also felt that?

He sounds shocked.

"Yeah, it was like for some time you were gone." Leaning down I kiss his head, as my eyes well up because it was a horrible feeling.

I was lost somewhere and couldn't find myself, then I felt like you were calling me. So, I followed your voice. Human, didn't feel my absence but you did.

"It is strange." I shrug in confusion because it almost seems impossible that you can't feel your wolf's absence. Like even when Fire never made her presence obvious in my mind even then I could sense her. I knew she is there in me.

Wolfie-Cherry bond is stronger than me and my human.

He replies after thinking for a while.

"Yes, because we are best friends." I hug him.

Instantly, he rolls on his back almost making me fall.

"My Wolfie." Closing my eyes, I lie beside him while still holding him.

Suddenly, his bones crackle and even before I can open my eyes a pair of arms wrap around my waist as Donovon lies in place of Wolfie, as my eyes snap open.

"My Wolfie, huh?" He arches his eyes, "What about my Donovon?" He playfully glares at me.

"Donovon, why did you ruin my and Wolfie time?" I slap his cheek, "You jealous guy." I stick my tongue out.

He laughs loudly, while a betraying smile turns the corner of my lips upward.

"Next time, I am going to take Fire with me and you will not be part of our fun time." He narrows his eyes at me and flicks my nose.

He stands up, casually, as if he is not butt-naked making me cover my eyes with my both hands.

"Donovon, you shameless person." I groan as my face heats up.

"Nothing which you haven't seen before, mate." He chuckles pinching my cheeks.

After a few moments, he returns and thankfully he is clothed.

Sitting behind me he pulls me into his chest as he rests his face in the crook of my neck.

"You have kept clothes everywhere?" I ask slightly surprised as he is able to find clothes anywhere.

"I have kept a pair of my clothes in all the places where I love to go to." He kisses my neck, "So I don't have to worry about clothes when I have to shift."

We sit in the silence as he just keeps holding me, but I can feel his anxiousness.

"What's wrong, Donovon?" Tilting my head to the side I ask him.

"Do you know you are special?" He asks in a serious tone, his usual playfulness is missing.

"Huh?" Turning in his arms, I glance at him in confusion.

"There are some people who are after you." His gaze hardens, "Because of your blood, Ivory. It is a blessing from Moon Goddess."

"My blood?" My eyebrows raise in surprise.

"Yes, your blood is special..." He makes a face like he has tasted something bitter on his tongue, "They want you for your blood. If even a drop of your blood is sacrificed to Moon Goddess on the Wolfmoon night while making a wish, then Moon Goddess will fulfill that wish."

"Really?" I am stunned hearing about this because I know rogues were looking for me and because of that James always kept me under strict protection. But I thought it is because rogues want to kill me as they couldn't kill me when they killed my parents.

"That is why Gavin, Jenna, and Luca made a blood oath to protect me," I mumble to myself.

"Yes, because when someone makes a blood oath with you to protect you, then they can always find you. They can sense and feel you no matter wherever you are. No one can influence them, even the power of the strongest Alpha will not affect them as they are bonded with you and are only loyal to you. Since you hadn't shifted at that time this blood oath was even more necessary for your protection."

I silently take in all the information, while connecting dots in my mind. That's why whenever I used to get hurt James used to lose his mind, and used to stay by my side until I was fully healed.

"You know what this all means?" Donovon holds my face in his hands, "You are special, not only to me but to everyone." He swallows.

"And this scares me." His eyes show his vulnerability, "Because constantly there is going to be someone who will try to take you away from me." Closing his eyes he presses his forehead against mine.

Lifting my head, I kiss him while opening our bond to let him feel the love I have for him.

"Don't worry, Donovon." Breaking the kiss, I smile, "I will never let anyone separate us."

This Wolfmoon I am going to pray to the MoonGoddess to never separate me from my Donovon... to make our bond so strong that no one will ever be able to break it and to fill our hearts with love for each other which only continues to grow with time. And for it, if I have to sacrifice even my every drop of blood I will happily do it.
