Chapter 22
Opening my eyes, I find myself lying on a bed. The moment I remember where I was when I fell asleep, I shoot up on the bed and look around to notice a somewhat familiar room.
Before I can recall where I am, the door to the room opens revealing Donovon instantly making me relief.
“Why did you leave like that, without informing me?” Donovon asks crossing his arms over his chest, his tone slightly scolding. “I got so worried that somebody took you when I was unable to find you anywhere.” Still standing against the doorway gives me a stern.
“Storm was going crazy and it was becoming so difficult to control him.” He raises his eyebrows, “He forcefully took over and nearly chopped off Emma’s head.”
“I wonder why he never liked her?” He looks confused while he asks himself.
She is a tramp, that’s why.
Fire’s remark makes me choke on my own saliva and sending me into fits of laughter.
“Why are you laughing?” He asks. Suddenly, his tone turns gentle as he glances at me faintly smiling.
“Nothing.” Controlling my laugh, I shake my head, “I am just feeling pins and needles in my foot.” I lie which seems believable as he doesn’t ask anything more. Instead, sitting on the bed he gently holds my foot and starts massaging it, sending tingles of warmth on my skin.
Tell him, your lips are also feeling numb and ask him to massage with his lips.
"Fire!" I yell at her completely horrified of her comment while she just snickers.
“It looks like Fire has started talking to you.” Donovon arches an eyebrow, “And guessing from your expression, I can assume, she said something amusing.” He smirks.
My face goes red because for a moment I thought he can hear my wolf’s voice.
“Where am I?” Clearing my throat, I change the topic while looking around.
“Changing the topic, I see.” He chuckles.
“Well, it is our home.” He holds my hand and draws circles with his thumb on the back of my hand, “When we find our mates, usually, wolves in our pack move out of the packhouse and lives in their own place.”
“That’s why I thought I am going to give you this house on your birthday.” He rolls his eyes, “Since you disappeared for almost an entire day, you just ruined my surprise for you. So I have to carry you here, when I found you sleeping peacefully under the tree after sending my heart in a frenzy.” He gives me a fake glare.
My eyes widen as I glance at him in a complete shock, as this is something that could have never crossed my mind.
Our own place... mine and Donovon’s
A smile comes on my lips as soon as this thought settles in. This is going to be our home.
“So...” He holds my face in his palm, slowly nodding his head, “Happy Birthday.” He presses his lips against mine in a gentle kiss.
“I love you.” He whispers against my lips making me forget everything.
I was hurt from his earlier behavior, but I can’t overlook his love. And I know he loves me and that’s what matters the most.
But I am going to teach that bitch a lesson if she ever tries to get near our mate again.
"You and me, both, Fire."
“I can’t believe, you bought this home?” I laugh in disbelief while walking around the house as he follows me.This is our old house, where I used to live. No wonder that room seemed familiar to me.
“How could I had let anyone else live here when this is where you have lived?” He smiles, “Above all, Storm has threatened to shred anyone who comes and lives in this house who is not you because for him this is your home.” Rolling his eyes, he laughs.
“I love you, Wolfie.” I look at Donovon as if I can see Wolfie, “You are the best!” I grin.
“You make me envious of my own wolf.” Shaking his head he laughs placing his hand on my hips.
“Oh, don’t be jealous of my Wolfie.” I playfully pout, “He is the most adorable wolf in the whole world.”
Throwing his head back he laughs loudly.
“Just for you, Cherry.” He smirks, “Because, for others, he is anything but adorable.”
“Cherry?” I look at him in confusion.
"Your Wolfie named you Cherry because you smell like cherries.” Burying his nose in my hair, and he takes a deep breath.
“You have no idea, how much I love cherry.” He leans back with a teasing glint in his eyes, “Especially this Cherry.” He lightly bumps his head with mine, making me laugh.
We have decided that we will stay in the packhouse as being an Alpha and Luna we should be near our people. However, we will often visit our home whenever we will get time.
When we return back to the packhouse it is dinner time. Everyone in the packhouse is in the dining area.
Jenna comes to me looking bewildered while a guy with silver-white hair follows her.
“Ivory.” She licks her lips nervously and looks back at the guy.
A slow smile spreads on my lips as I realize he must be her mate.
“Wyatt?” Donovon looks surprised to see this guy whose name I have just found.
“Alpha.” He bows his head then his eyes flickers to me, “Luna.”
“When have you returned?” Donovon asks while I try to figure out why Jenna seems nervous.
“This afternoon,” Wyatt replies.
“I have found my mate, Donovon.” He looks towards Jenna and I see an amusing smile on his face.
“Congratulations, Wyatt.” Donovon smiles.
“What is wrong, Jenna?” I whisper arching an eyebrow at her.
“I have marked him.” She mumbles looking horrified, “The moment I saw, I marked him. Without even knowing his name, I marked him.”
My eyes widen and instantly I look at his neck to find a mark on it.
“God, what did I do?” She covers her face with her hands and shakes her head.
“It’s okay.” Wyatt laughs and wraps an arm around Jenna, “Although you took me by surprise, I was yours to mark.”
Even Donovon laughs along with Wyatt, while I feel sorry for her embarrassing encounter.
“It is your fault.” Jenna glares at him, “My wolf could smell some other she-wolf on you.”
“That’s because I carried an injured female warrior to the clinic.” He shakes his head still laughing.
If you don’t mark our mate, even I am going to do something like this.
Suddenly, Fire’s voice rings in my head with a warning clear behind her words.
I glance at Donovon and gulp nervously.
Great. Just great!
