Wolf Bond

Every sound seems to go in the background, as I can just hear the crazy thumping on my own heart in my ears.

I blink a few times, not believing my eyes as I surely find him standing there in the middle of the small clearing while his back is turned to me.

Can he sense the way my heart is beating against my rib cage?

My hands feel clammy while my breathing slows down, as I take a step in his direction.

Thousand thoughts running through my mind as with each step I am getting closer to him.

He seems familiar, but then it can just be the effect of the mate bond.

His scent is so enticing and something like which I can't describe in words but again it is familiar.

Closing my eyes, I inhale his scent trying to calm myself so that I am not a mess of chaotic emotions when I meet him, which seems highly impossible but still, I can try.

Again I take a deep breath as a slow grin appearing on my face as I have finally found my mate.

My steps halt as I watch him turn around to face me.

"Happy Birthday!"

My smiles widen as tears gather in my eyes unable to move my gaze from Donovon's face.

Keeping my eyes on him, I move closer to him and raise my hand, extending my fingers in his direction.

Mirroring my action, he raises his own hand while a faint smile is on his lips.

My eyes darting from our hands to his face in anticipation.

As soon as our fingertips brush against each other, an overwhelming sensation encases me and the sparks erupt throughout my body spreading from the point where our fingertips are connected.

A loud gasp leaves my lips as I raise my eyes to find a similar awestruck expression on his face as even he has not expected something like this.

Entwining his fingers through mine, he stares at our interlocked hands while my eyes are fixed on his face.

Lifting his eyes to meet mine, a smile forms on his lips which takes my breath away.

"Mate," Tilting his head slightly, he whispers as he looks at me with nothing but love in his eyes.

Covering the distance I throw my arms around him, pulling him impossibly closer to me. His arms go around my waist as he clutches me to his chest while picking me up.

"Why have not you told me before?" Pulling back, I look at his face as he puts me back on the ground but keeps his arms still around me.

"I wanted you to find me, without knowing that I am your mate, and experience this moment when we finally meet each other." He gently runs his knuckles across my cheek as my eyes close involuntarily feeling the sparks from his touch.

"I thought I was betraying you, my mate, by falling in love with someone else." I swallow as tears slip from my eyes as my throat constricting with emotions.

Wiping my tears, he tilts my face up to glance in his eyes.

"I am sorry for making you suffer, but I do not want to take away this moment from you." Guilt evident in his eyes, as he caresses my cheek with his thumb.

Smiling at him, I put my head on his chest while winding my arms around him as warmth washes over my entire body.

It is like I can't get enough of him...his scent... his warmth...everything about him is so enticing that I just want to stay in his hold forever.

Shivers run down my spine as goosebumps erupt across my skin when he runs his finger from the base of my neck towards the skin where he will mark me.

Lifting my face, my eyes lock with him as his gaze darkens when it lands on my lips.

Cupping my face, he runs his thumb over my lips while his eyes following the motion.

Tearing his eyes away from my lips, he lowers his face while tilting my head up.

"May I?" His voice deeper than usual, while my heart feels like it will explode any second.

I am barely able to nod my head, but it is enough for him.

The next moment his lips are on mine, sending my heart on a frenzy while a million sparks ignite across my skin.

Hesitantly, he starts to move his lips against mine as I have surrendered myself to the feeling of his hot lips gliding across mine. I feel myself kissing him back as his chest vibrates with a low growl. Pulling myself flush against him, I snake my arms around his neck weaving my fingers in his hair.

Both of us not ready to end the kiss, just wanting to be lost in this sensation.

I do not know how long we were lost in each other, but then we both pull away at the same time to take the much-needed breath.

Not a moment later his lips are back on mine as he briefly kisses me making me smile.

He chuckles while caressing my cheek as no matter what I do I can't hide the blush, as my face is getting hotter just under his gaze.

"My first kiss," A shy smile tugs the corner of my lips as I whisper to myself.

I always wanted to give my first kiss to my mate. Because your firsts are always very special.

"Our first kiss." He smiles fondly at me.

"Huh?" Confusion laces my voice as I look at him.

He presses his lips against my forehead while holding me to his chest.

"You were not the only one who was waiting for their mate." I hear him speak as he places another kiss in my hair then takes a deep breath, "What kind of mate would I have been, if I had given myself to someone other when I knew I had a mate who is waiting for me."

I can't be happier than this, as I never expected he would also have saved himself for me. There many wolves who do not believe in waiting for their mates, as we do not know when we will find the one who is made for us. They might not give their heart to anyone but this does not stop them from being with someone who is not their mate.

"Only you have the right on me." Leaning away he looks into my tears filled eyes, "On my heart... On my soul... On me."

The tears which slip from my eyes, can't be stopped even if I want to. My heart is overwhelming with emotions that are hard to express. Everything which I wished for has come true at this moment and I can't ask for anything more.

He is the one I wished for... He is the one whom I wanted in my life... He is the one who I wanted to be with... and now I have finally found him.

This is the reason the connection I felt with him is stronger than anything which I have ever felt. The reason behind my longing for him, the ache which pierced my heart when I was away from him everything becomes clear.

However, he made me truly fell in love with him. Mate bond may have joined our fate, but he was the one who tied my heart with his.

"I love you." Looking into his eyes as I confess to him which my heart is telling me with each breath I take.

A breathtaking smile breaks into his face making me want to engrave this moment on my heart forever.

If I say that if I died at this moment I would have died happily, then it would be a plain lie. No, I do not want to die... I want to live with him.

I want to see this face every day for the rest of my life.

He captures my lips again into a kiss, pouring his love into the kiss. Expressing his love for me in a way that words might not have done justice to this feeling.

Love... this all I can feel.

He breaks the kiss and gazes into my eyes where he will only find love for him and nothing else.

"I love you, too." He smiles and pecks my lips continuously making me laugh.

Then suddenly he groans loudly, making me questioningly look at him.

"I do not want to share you with anyone." He wraps his arms around me and whines looking extremely adorable.

"You do not have to." Tiptoeing, I kiss his cheek which makes him grin in return.

"But I can't keep them away from their Luna." He half-smiles, "My whole pack is waiting for their Alpha to bring their Luna with him."

"You have already made a place in their heart as Ivory, now give them a chance to show you their love for you as their Luna." He holds my hand looking at me with pride.

"Your pack is waiting for you, my Luna."
