Wolf Bond

Chapter 15

When I walk outside the room, I notice there is no one in the packhouse except for my family which is really strange as usually the packhouse is filled with everyone and especially when we are celebrating any event then the entire pack is here.

“Look at you, turning eighteen in some time.” James comes and hugs me.

“Where is everyone?” I ask him as he wraps an arm around my shoulder.

“You will know soon.” He smiles and walks outside the house as Michelle hugs me.

“You are looking so gorgeous.” She smooths my hair and smiles at me.

“Let’s go, otherwise, we will be late.” She checks the time and ushers me outside.

James is buckling Noah in his car seat as we go outside to sit in the car.

I sit in the backseat with Noah as Michelle sits in the front while James is behind the wheel. While Jenna is sitting in her brother’s car.

James cringes as slightly as he drives, making me and Michelle laugh as we know Caleb is mind linking him not so happy words for making Jenna sit with him.

They might be Alpha and Beta, but they are best friends too. So, often we get a chance to hear an interesting exchange of conversation between them.

Closing my eyes I start thinking about my mate while a part of me is still stuck in the thoughts of Donovon.

Whoever will be Donovon’s mate, she will be a lucky girl to get a mate like him.

He cares about everyone so much, so I can’t even imagine how much he will love his own mate.

Maybe my mate will also care for me just like Donovon did or maybe even more than him.

My mind drifts to the moment when I will actually meet my mate. Will it be as magical as everyone says?

There is a fifty-fifty percent chance that I will find my mate tonight, as now I will be able to sense him. However, if I will not find him, then I will ask James to allow me to visit some packs in search of him.

If he could not come to me then I will go to him.

I experience a familiar kind of energy buzzing through my body making me come out of my thoughts. Looking outside the window, I glance at the familiar road which I took nearly two weeks back to look for Wolfie.

Silvertown?

“Why are we here?” Leaning forward between the front seats I look at James.

“Have some patience, Ivy.” He lightly chuckles, “All I can say that this birthday will be your most memorable birthday.”

I turn to Michelle in search of answers, but she shrugs looking as clueless as me. Maybe James has not even told Michelle anything about this.

"Do you know why are we in Silvertown?" I mind link Jenna but her mind link is blocked.

Frowning, I lean back in my seat as I know James will not tell me anything no matter how much I beg him. So, the next best thing is just to be patient and wait for him to reveal whatever he has planned.

“Baa, baa, black sheep, I will eat you... Baa, baa, black sheep I will eat you...”

Noah’s voice comes from beside me as he is busy singing a different version of baa, baa, black sheep.

A loud smack is heard which makes me laugh, as James groans.

“I have told you to teach him Baa, baa, black sheep, have you any wool? ” Michelle gives James a death glare, “And this is what you have taught him?”

“I taught him what is right.” James tries to suppress his laugh, “We are wolves, we do not ask for wool, we eat sheep.” He playfully howls, and the just like father Noah also howls...or should I say, tries to howl.

Then the howling competition between James and Noah starts. Obviously, Noah wins the competition as James gets scared because Noah is powerful than him.

I look at Michelle who has a fond look on her face as she cradles her baby bump... another baby boy is on the way.

James stops the car in front of a house... not just any house but my old house. I let out a loud squeal while nearly jumping out of the car as I run into the waiting arms of Henry and Emily.

I wrap my arms around both of them as I hug them while jumping happily.

“You guys are here.” Leaning back, I look at their faces then again hug them.

It has been a few months since I have seen them, as they both decided that they need to go traveling as Emily wanted to visit a few places. They are the only humans that live with us in our pack, as they were not only my parents’ friends but also they are the ones who kept me protected for so long. And everyone in the pack respects them a lot.

“There is no way we could have missed your birthday, Ivory.” Emily gently cups my face while smiling at me.

“I am so happy.” I laugh and dab beneath my eyes to wipe the moisture, as I am feeling so overwhelmed to see them.

“Somebody bought this house.” I glance at our old house as nostalgia hits me recalling the happy moments we have spent here in this house.

“I know the owner and they would not mind if we use this house for your birthday.” James winks at me as we follow him inside the house.

With one tug he opens the door as we all follow him inside the house.

Surprisingly, the entire house is fully furnished and cleaned.

“Wow, this looks nice.” Looking around the house, I nod my head, “I have, honestly, expected dust and cobwebs.” I laugh.

The house looks freshly painted and new but still has that homely feeling.

“This is your house, Vee?” Noah following me while holding the corner of my dress.

“No, it was.” I comb his hair back which again falls in the same place.

“When are we going to cut the cake?” He suddenly whines.

“I don’t know, bud.” I shrug and join everyone in the backyard where Henry is showing Michelle something.

“Okay, we had our reunion here and now can we go where the actual party is?” I place my hands on my hips as I eye James.

It feels nice here, but this is not what I have expected my eighteenth birthday to be like. I wanted a birthday party with all the fun and music and food.

“Emily was telling me, you used to play here with her.” James ignoring my question stands beside me, “I also want to play a game with you.” Then he suddenly puts a blindfold on me.

“What are you doing?” I try to remove the blindfold, but he quickly holds my hand and guides me somewhere.

“Okay, ready, one... two... three.“He turns me around three times, as a laugh leaves my lips at his childishness, “Now catch us.”

I hear Noah as giggles as he touches my knees and runs. When I pretend to catch him, he squeals loudly.

“What kind of werewolf you are not even able to catch us?” Henry taunts from somewhere from my left side.

“Use your other senses, Ivory.” I hear Michelle’s voice.

Relaxing, I focus on my other senses using my werewolf abilities.

Slowly, my hearing and smell become sharp and I can even notice the slightest movement from them.

A grin appears on my face, as Henry’s smell mixed slight hint of Old Spice makes me takes a step in his direction he tries to dodge me but I am quick to block his way.

I can hear Emily’s laugh coming from the porch as well as Noah’s giggles who is probably in her arms.

Quickly, I duck down when I hear something coming in my direction.

“Damn.” James whistles. “That was impressive, Ivy.” I can hear the pride in hidden in his tone. He is the one who helped me to use my werewolf abilities and trained me to protect myself.

Before I can turn to catch Henry, I get a whiff of a new but somewhat familiar scent.

My whole body freezes as this alluring scent is completely overtaking my senses. My feet start walking on their own as I feel the pull towards this enchanting yet comforting scent.

The ground beneath my feet shifts as I am no longer walking on the soft grass of the backyard but on the rough ground of the woods.

Taking away the blindfold, I look around to find myself on the familiar path which leads to the small clearing.

My wolf stirs inside me confirming the feeling of my mate somewhere very close to me. This scent is driving me insane so I quicken my pace following my heart which taking me to the clearing.

Swallowing, I feel my heart rate picking up as I can feel the strong pull that is tugging my heart while the scent of my mate getting stronger and stronger making me restless.
