Wolf Bond

Chapter 11

I do not know for how long I have been sleeping but I feel Wolfie lying beside me. Slightly turning my neck around to look over my shoulder her I watch him curled up beside me as his head is lying on my waist.

Placing my hand on his head, I close my eyes as I lightly stroke his head and instantly he starts to purr. Weaving my fingers into his fur I scratch his head as I am too tired to wake up.

Every time I stop myself from shifting, it affects me as I am barely left with any energy.

I am sorry.

I hear a voice in my mind, even though I do not have the energy to open my eyes but my mind is awake.

“You are?" I ask my wolf.

I have recognized her voice from the first time I heard in my head but I want to know her name.

Fire.

She replies in a proud voice.

"Fire...” I smile thinking about my wolf, ”Why you have named yourself Fire?" I ask curiously, as from what I have heard each wolf chooses their own name which defines them.

Fire gives warmth and comfort, but it also has the power to burn you down.

Just like us.

She adds after a moment.

"Why did you get so angry with that girl?" I ask her as the anger which I was feeling was mostly hers.

She was challenging us.

She growls angrily.

"Challenging us, how?" I ask her, even though I also did not like the way she reacted around Donovon and her behavior towards me.

I don’t know.

Even she was sounding confused.

But if next time she pushes us, I am going to rip her head off.

She growls, which makes me laugh.

"I like you and I am glad to have you," I reply to her, feeling immensely happy to have her as my wolf.

I like you too my human. And I will try to control myself, but if anyone disrespects us then...

"I will deal with them." I quickly add, "In my own way, without ripping their head off, but showing them their place."

I will help you. We can have fun without ripping off anyone's head.

She lightly laughs.

Now we should sleep, we both are very tired.

She sighs tiredly.

After saying this I can feel my wolf go somewhere back in my mind in her resting place.

I wish she talks to me often, I enjoyed talking to her. She is not like other wolves who fight with their other, human, part. I think we already formed a connection between us.

Snuggling more into Wolfie's side, I fall asleep. This time when I sleep, my sleep in more peaceful. My body is still in pain, however, my mind is really relaxed. Talking to Fire has really helped in releasing my mental stress.

I wake up to the muffled voice coming from somewhere in the house. It takes me a few moments to become aware of my surroundings, stretching my body I look around to notice I am alone in the room with no sign of Wolfie. However, his strong scent is surrounding me which proves that he was with me the entire time.

Slowly, I sit on the edge of the bed as I rub my eyes. My body is feeling so much better and the pain is also bearable. The door to the room slightly opens and I watch Jenna standing in the door.

"How are you feeling?" She comes and sits beside me as lightly rubs my arm.

"Better, actually, so much better." I smile at her which eases her tension.

"I brought your clothes, from your room." She hands me my clothes, "Freshen up and comes outside everyone is waiting for you." She squeezes my shoulder and leaves the room.

Looking around the room I realize this is Donovon's room. The room is painted in white color with one wall entirely painted in green color on which many photographs are hanging. There is a study table beside the bed, which bigger than a single bed.

That's why Wolfie was able to fit in this bed.

After taking a shower in the attached bathroom, I quickly get dressed and towel dries my hair.

When I walk outside the room, everyone stops talking and looks at me. I notice Gavin and Luca are also present in the room along with others.

Luca is the first one to approach me.

"Are you feeling okay?" He gently asks as everyone waits for my reply.

"Yes, thank you, I am better now." I politely smile and look at every one.

My eyes land on Donovon who is looking at me with a cautious expression.

"Ivory, join us for breakfast." Julia motions me to the breakfast table while softly smiling at me.

I take a seat in front of Donovon as Jenna sits on my side. I notice Julia is sitting beside Arthur who is sitting at the head of the table.

"What happened yesterday?" Arthur asks as we all start eating breakfast.

I notice the entire time Donovon is looking at me, but he has not said a word to me.

"My wolf did not like it when that girl pushed us," I reply calmly, as instantly I hear light growls coming from Jenna, Gavin, and Luca when they hear this.

"How did you know that it was because of her?" Arthur continues to question.

"My wolf told me."

A shock passes through Arthur's eyes, as Jenna squeals happily making me slightly cringe.

"What is your wolf's name?" Jenna excitedly asks as I can feel myself smiling as my wolf stirs in my mind.

"Fire." I smile.

"Fire," Donovon whispers as a faint smile appears on his lips.

"She really talked to you?" This time Arthur also has a genuine smile on his face with a hint of disbelief.

"Yes, yesterday, she talked to me for the first time."

"Why did you do not want me around you, but you were okay with my wolf?" Donovon speaks to me for the first time, with a slight hurt in his tone.

"Your smell it was agitating my wolf." I glance at him, "But when you were in your wolf form it calmed me, then your scent felt comforting."

"How?" He looks confused, "We both are same."

Even I do not have an answer to this question, as this is something that is confusing me. He and his wolf are one, their scent is also the same, but when he was in human form his scent wanted my wolf to come out.

It was her scent that was annoying me.

My wolf speaks in my mind.

I glance back at Donovon. His eyes glazed over as he is talking someone then my attention turns to Julia as she has also a similar expression, obviously, she is mind linking him.

Donovon's lips lift in a soft smile as he nods his head to whatever Juila is saying. Then he blinks as his eyes get back to normal. His gaze shifts back on me as he gives me a smile that increases my heartbeat, returning his smile I try to focus on the conversation which has thankfully shifted away from me.

I can't wait to come out. I like being inside you but sometimes, I want to experience everything myself.

My wolf suddenly speaks with a slight longing.

"I know and I am sorry, but you know why I was holding you back. And now we both have to wait for another reason." I try to comfort her. Because not only her, even I am dying to meet her.

I can understand and I will wait for our mate.

She says in an understanding tone, but still, I can hear her sadness of being trapped in my body.

"I do not like it when you are sad, Fire." I sigh, because we can sense each other's emotions, especially since she has started communicating with me I can sense all her emotions clearly, "Please tell me, anything to cheer you up."

"I love chocolates, I like its smell and taste." She instantly perks up.

"Okay, so after having breakfast we are going to have lots of chocolates." I smile when she happily howls and then retreats back in my mind.

When my eyes focus back on the table, everyone is still busy with their breakfast. But Donovon is looking at me with a knowing smile on his face.

"You were talking to Fire," Donovon says as soon as we are alone in his room.

I came to his room, to pick up his stuff, as we are going back to his house.

"You know, I can sense her now." He smiles as his eyes roam over my face.

"She likes chocolates." I laugh while recalling her excitement.

"Then I will bring lots of chocolates for you." He lightly laughs. "So that I can keep you and your wolf happy."
