WITCH SHIfT

Chapter Chapter Twenty-One

JP

“I don’t know what they are doing but it can’t be good. If you don’t care I’m shacking up here.” Charlie said after he came inside the warehouse. Mar and I were still trying to figure out how to stop the human force headed our way and now my brother is telling me my parents are becoming an issue at the same time.

“What can you tell me?” I asked grabbing his bag and headed for the stairs to the upper offices.

“They kicked me out of the special coven meeting, that’s what I am telling you. They know I won’t be a part of this bologna, so they are isolating me. They picked the wrong guy to mess with. I’m a level fifty as well, and I am not afraid to show them that.”

“Easy bro, after what the president said I can’t imagine they are too secure knowing he wants to put trackers in all of us. Must seem like a slap in the face for all the years of service they have given him.”

“Don’t know, don’t care,” Charlie confessed flopping in one of the chairs in the third office. “I just know I am on your side through this whole thing. So tell me what you need?”

“We have a force of attacking humans coming this way to hurt any Supernaturals they find, so what I need is a way to stop that without hurting them, got anything like that?” I asked dropping into a chair myself.

“Nope, and to be fair Mom and Dad wouldn’t either.” He said looking worried. “If they have weapons JP a lot of people will die. Should we make a run for it?”

“No, I won’t do that. I care about this place and these people. I just need something to stop all this, but how do you stop years and years of hatred? That’s the dilemma we face,” I said frustrated.

“You can’t, all you can do is try to have understanding.” Charlie said thinking about something. “Look at your boy Harvey, he understands, it was a shit situation, but he understands. I’m not saying that is what we need, but we need something that brings understanding.”

“Or fear,” I said thinking he may be too easy on the human world. Of course fear would incite them more. Damn this was a sticky situation. “We don’t have time for this.”

I got up and began moving around. We needed to do something. The easiest thing would be to stop the routes into town and make them have to move openly. If they did that they would be helpless to our shifters and that would stop a major problem, but it wouldn’t stop the overall problem, and I had a feeling, even the guardian wouldn’t know how to do that.

“What if we blocked all the roads in and out? If they have to walk in we can eliminate most of the threat?” I asked Charlie.

“Worth a shot,” he said thinking. “We need a spell to stop all vehicles from running. Let me make some calls and see what I can find out. How is Mar?” He asked smiling at me.

“My Mar is just fine, find your own woman.” I said knowing that evil smile of his.

He just laughed at me. Ass was laughing at me. I hated him. If I didn’t love him so much I would actually hate him.

“Mom and Dad have no idea how fierce you are going to get on them when they try something. It will be interesting to watch.” Charlie said smiling again.

“I doubt they will try anything dangerous since Mar turned the other spell back on mom, but who knows with those two. I think it’s time they retired somewhere and waited for your kids to happen so they have something to do.” I shot back.

“Don’t you dare wish kids on me mister,” He said shocked. “I’ve still got some living to do before kids bring that to an end, besides I haven’t found a woman yet who can keep up with me.”

“Lord help us when you do.” I said.

“How about Lord save me from brothers trying to one up each other,” Mar said walking in smiling.

She was the scent of fresh air we needed. Charlie of course jumped right up and began flirting with her while I let him for a few minutes so Mar could easily see the difference between us. I know she wouldn’t even think about him like that, so I was safe.

“You’re full of it today aren’t you?” She finally asked him.

“If you mean my eyes with your beauty, then yes, and thankful for every vision,” he said smirking.

“Please, Harvey has better lines than that. You better work on those. Now boys, what’s our plan, and what about your parents?”

We filled her in and we all sat around thinking. “I made those four guys freeze today before they could attack me. Could we do that with vehicles?”

“You did what?” Charlie asked alert all of a sudden.

We filled Charlie in on the attack and he seemed visibly shaken. “Charlie, what’s wrong?”

“Mar, can you pull power from anyone, or just JP?” He asked.

“I’ve only been able to pull anything remotely magical from JP, but to be fair I haven’t tried, so who knows?” She explained.

“We need to know. This could be vital. Mar I want you to do what you did earlier but try to pull the power from me. Can you try that?” Charlie asked and I wondered where this was going.

She looked like she was concentrating but her face ended up showing when it became a hopeless cause and she gave up. “I didn’t feel a thing,” she said exhausted.

“Careful, that will ruin his huge ego.” I threw out there.

“Really, how immature was that?” Charlie said smiling.

“You wanted to run with it didn’t you?” I asked.

“Damn right I did,” he said whining.

“Shit you two are children. What was that all about anyway?” Mar asked.

“Easy, if you could pull power, say, from our parents, battle won before it even started. It was worth a shot.” Charlie said and I knew it was true. I also knew that Mar had never pulled anything from anyone but me, but the Guardian did say we were changing, so you never knew.

“Makes sense, too bad it didn’t work.” Mar said still resting in her chair.

“So do we have enough witches to do what I did with the guys to stop vehicles?” Mar worked in again.

“We may, but if they see us we would be an open target. If they have guns it could get bad.” I said thinking out loud.

“Could we just barricade the roads like they did in the old west?” Mar threw out.

“I agree we have to try something,” Charlie said and we all knew it, we just didn’t know what it was.

Just then Mar’s phone started ringing. She looked at the screen and said it’s Carolyn. She opened it up and said “Carolyn, where have you been?”

Mar

“Running for my life,” she screamed back at me. “I’ve been trying to slow all these bastards down, but they are relentless. I think I can give you to tomorrow, so if you are evacuating, do it now.”

“We aren’t running, we are trying to come up with a plan to take the vehicles out of the equation and make them come in on foot. What have you been doing to slow them down?” I asked thinking we could use what she was doing.

“Spelling the first vehicle in the line,” she said sounding exhausted. “Each time it whips me and they are starting to figure it out. Now they are going around the first even if it is causing accidents. I have a few more things to try like dropping trees and flooding roads but I will be beat by the time I roll in.”

“Just get here and we will take care of you. Do not, I repeat, do not do so much you can get hurt.” I said pissed. She was the type to overdo it and then get hurt or worse. I would not let that happen.

“Ah, you sound like you love me.” She threw back.

“Just get here so I can scream at you proper,” I said back.

“Tomorrow morning, I’m driving a red jeep, don’t let anyone spell me.” She shot at me.

“I should just for making us worry. Be safe,” I said hanging up. Everyone heard what we had been talking about and they all looked nervous.

“She’s kind of doing what you thought of Mar so they might be expecting that. We need something different. Come on JP you are the original one here, what can you come up with?” Charlie threw at his brother.

Poor JP looked perplexed. I just wanted to pull him in my arms and hold him. Well maybe I was the one that wanted to be held, I don’t know. I just knew this whole thing was shit.

“I don’t know, but we only have till tomorrow morning to figure it out. I think we should get a hold of the sherriff.
