Wish Upon A Demon

Chapter BONUS CHAPTER #1

BONUS CHAPTER #1

Two Years Later

I officially hate Royal dinners.

One thing I realized - since I started spending more time in Zylen’s home - is that while his mom is cool, the rest of his family isn’t. They stuffy, uptight and to be honest, they’re major assholes. And also, they don’t like me. Apparently, Zylen was one of the best demon eligible bachelors in the paranormal dimension and the fact that he’s shacked up with a young soul like me does not appeal to their tastes. I can handle their indirect jabs and criticizing stares for one night, but Royal dinners were a monthly thing and I didn’t like that. It also meant I’d have to meet women who were once being considered as Royal ‘consorts’ for Zylen and I hated that part. Making small talk and fake smiling at the women who want my position? No thank you.

“Is there any way I can skip tonight?” I groan.

Zylen turns to me. I swear, he gets more handsome every day and that kinda makes me insecure because he’s so good looking and I’m just me. “Nope,” He taps my nose. “Besides you’re already dressed. Just bear with them for an hour or two and then we’ll get back.” He says. I shake my head. “Is there any way we can stall this? I really don’t wanna go down there,” I pout. Zylen runs his thumb over my bottom lip and then softly presses his lips to mine. “We can finish what we started in the morning,” He presses a kiss to my jaw.

This morning Zylen and I retired ourselves for a day of sex, wine, and food. We hadn’t known that the monthly Royal dinner would take place tonight - since the last one was only two and a half weeks earlier. But Cora had wanted to discuss something with the other members of the Royal family and what better method to do that than bribe them with fancy food and a feeling of family duty and loyalty? And while I admired her strategy, I didn’t like the fact that I’d have to suck up to those prissy people.

“No. This dress is uncomfortable as it is, I don’t want to be uneasy and wet while shaking hands with your cousins.” I tell him. He laughs at my neck and gives me another little kiss. “Okay then, let’s go.” He holds out his hand and I take it.

And we go downstairs with me readying my heart for another night of boredom.

“Ugh, I hated every second of it,” I say while trying to unzip my dress.

Zylen notices my struggle and comes over to help me. I let him unzip me, relaxing as he runs his hand over my back. “I know you hate all this and if I could do something about it, I would but I’m sorry love, I can’t.” He says, resting his chin on my shoulder. “These people, as weird as they are, they’re my family and I want you to get along with them. I nod, “Yeah, I’m sorry I’ll try to adjust.” He smiles. “And also we need their help and funds so we can reconstruct the parts of the castle and renovate some areas of the kingdoms that were destroyed in the war.” He adds, speaking fast. “I knew the family reason wasn’t the only thing you wanted me to get along with them,” I tell him.

“Then you know me well,” He smiles, leading me to the bed. Getting on top of me, he unclips my bra but doesn’t remove it and lays his head on my chest, fingers playing with the lace of my panties. He’d commanded I wear them tonight and I did, not because he told me but because I wanted to.

“I don’t want to ruin the moment and all since you’re having the time of your life in between my boobs, but when are we going to tell people that we’re married?” I ask him. We wedded a year ago, in a small chapel. You could say we eloped but Zylen can trace within a fraction of a second so it didn’t really take much time. We registered, we got married and we came right back. Our first night was spent in his bedroom. Zylen tried to make it as romantic as possible and while I’d had better days with him sexually, that night was special because it commemorated us tying the knot.

His head rises up, a strand of dark hair falling in between his eyes. I’ve been asking the same question for the past week now and I can see a little bit of annoyance in his eyes that flutters off almost immediately. “I want to, Faye, you know that.” He says. “But right now, with all the work around the kingdom and all, it’s just not the right time.” I lick my lips. “I get it. I do. But every moment we spend in here wondering what to do next, those people out there are screening for potential Queens. They think I’m some phase you’re going through and when you get your head right, you’ll leave and settle down with someone bought up in the world. That scares me Zylen. I don’t want to lose you.” I hold him close.

“As much as I love making you jealous, you have to know that I’d never do that to you. I love you too much to let you go. And babe, you’re Royalty now which means all this is something you’re gonna have to get used to and learn not to care about because they’re unimportant. The only thing important here is for you to know that I’m never letting you go. I love you, Faye. You’re my wife and I’d never let you down.” He says.

And then I flip him over so I’m on top.

“That was romantic and lovely and...it was just what I needed.” I kiss him slow then pull back. “But, there’s something you should know. Okay so it wasn’t intentional but it’s kind of the reason why I’ve been asking you to let everyone know that we’re married.” Zylen places a hand on my back as he sits up, keeping his back against the headboard. I get off him and walk to the dresser. Zylen follows me, laying a hand on my shoulder. “What is it, Faye?” He prompts after I stay silent for a few minutes. I don’t want to prolong this so I suck in a breath and spit the words out.

“I’m pregnant.”

I barely have time to catch Zylen before he faints and falls.
