When They Beg, I Rise!

Chapter 57

Lemira's gaze followed Orion as he pulled out his phone, and stepped aside to make a call. She peeked from behind the safety of the corridor, ensuring Lucian wouldn't catch her. Once the call was finalized, Orion approached Lemira with an air of superiority, his expression calm and his tone teeming with a wild edge, "Let's go."

"Where to?"

"To enjoy the show."

What?

Lemira accompanied him to the elevator, heading straight to the third floor. The decor here starkly contrasted with that of the lower levels.

She couldn't help but steal glances at the man beside her. Rumor had it that the restaurant's third floor was reserved for members of a certain caliber, a status virtually no one in Lyria had achieved. Yet, Orion seemed to breeze through without a hitch, greeted with nothing but respect from the staff.

"I heard this level is off-limits to regular members," Lemira whispered.

"Yeah, I know."

Gazing at his profile, Lemira wondered if he left her question hanging. For sure she knew that too; what she really wanted to know was how he managed such effortless access. Lemira was lost in her thoughts when Orion suddenly stopped, causing her to bump into his back. He glanced back, amusement in his eyes, "First, let's watch. I'll explain later." Orion turned and left as Lemira asked, "Where are you going?"

"To the restroom."

Lemira noticed he instead took the elevator downstairs in spite of the fact that the restroom was near. Where was he heading?

She soon realized they were positioned perfectly to overlook the second-floor private room. Something felt off, and soon enough, she saw Orion exiting the elevator.

The private room's door swung open, revealing Lucian and Evelina, with a staff member speaking to them. Lucian's discomfort was palpable as he led Evelina towards the elevator, only to find Orion waiting, as if expected. Lucian frowned unwittingly at the sight of Orion, "What are you doing here? Did Lemira come to you?"

The restaurant's sudden clearing their place hinted at the arrival of a VIP. Despite the Langstons' significant influence in Lyria, the establishment's connections to the Orvin elite demanded reverence, even from them. Evelina added oil to fire, "Impossible. Isn't this place member's only? How could a mere school doctor have access? Lemmy must've sneaked him in!"

Merely a school doctor, even though he had good looks, it was of no use.

Orion's impatience shone through, "Take her away."

Two staff members suddenly appeared and approached Evelina directly, who instinctively hid behind Lucian, "Lucian, I'm scared."

"What do you mean by this?" Lucian stood in front of her.

"Exactly what it sounds like. She's too noisy; I wanted a word with you," Orion's expression was utterly indifferent, his tone icy, leaving no room for debate.

Lucian realized the surrounding was no more other guests. He felt somewhat suspicious.

Was this elaborate setup all for this school doctor?

When Lemira went with this doctor last time, he used even the Langstons' resources and yet couldn't track her down. He had investigated secretly this man's background but failed.

This man looked mysterious, and Lucian was not sure if he had ulterior motive by getting close to Lemira. But it seemed improbable.

After all, Lemira was just a young girl, having never ventured beyond Lyria, unlikely to have crossed anyone.

Seeing an opportunity to uncover more about Lemira's connection with Orion, Lucian looked at Evelina, "Wait for me outside."
