Chapter CHAPTER 40
When she left, He went crazy

What soon?'
I was particularly curious.
But I knew it would be impolite to press further, so I stayed quiet.
Today, every song at the concert was from my collection playlist.
After listening to the whole concert, I still felt unsatisfied.
As the singer left the stage, I had a surreal feeling of waking up from a big dream.
I sat blankly in my chair, looking around at the slowly departing crowd after the excitement.
The emptiness in my heart was terrifying.
Up until now, I had received any messages or calls from Christopher.
While I was lost in a daze, Cecil also showed great respect for me, without any hint of impatience.
He simply waited quietly on the side.
When I snapped out of it, we then followed the crowd and walked out together.
Even though there were security guards maintaining order, some people still crowded and pushed. As I was walking. someone suddenly pushed me from behind, causing me to bump into Cecil. Cecil instinctively put his arm around my shoulder and said, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, I explained somewhat embarrassedly. "Someone pushed me. And lost my balance."
Cecil just let go of me without saying anything.
After that, no one bumped into me anymore, and even that crowded feeling was gone.
My car and Cecil's car were parked in opposite directions. When we reached the doorway, we had to part ways.
"Hope." Cecil suddenly stopped me and asked, "Will you participate in the MS Group joint design competition?"
I was surprised that he brought it up on his own, laughing, "I don't even know if I can get a spot in the competition yet." He smiled and said, "I look forward to you participating in the competition"
"Alright, Cecil, goodbye."
The rain had stopped, and as I walked towards the parking lot, I could smell the fresh scent after the rain, which was

very pleasant.
If it weren't a bit cold, would take a walk back home.
As I approached the parking spot, I looked up and saw Donald.
He also saw me and immediately ran over, saying, "Mrs. Valence, Mr. Valence has been waiting for you."
1 was somewhat confused.
Didn't he stand me up?
How did it turn into him waiting for me now?
I frowned. "Where is he waiting for me?"
"In the car." Donald pointed to a black Bentley parked on the side of the road.
I said, "Why is he waiting for me? He invited me to a concert, and now the concert is already over. Tell him to
to leave."
Then I walked towards my car, saying, "And tell him not to come to Riverside Park anymore."
"Mrs. Valence," Donald, who might be aware of what Christopher had done these past few days, said as he followed behind me, "Why don't you go and talk to Mr. Valence in person?"
I hesitated for a moment. Why did I have to make things difficult for Donald?
If Christopher was angry, he would have to take the scold.
I helplessly changed direction and walked straight towards the roadside.
Donald helped Christopher speak, "Mr. Valence hasn't slept for two days and nights. He just arrived here and finally closed his eyes.
"I didn't let him sleep?" I sneered.
He accompanied another woman and dared to come to me to complain.
Donald explained, "Mr. Valence also wanted to get things done early and come to see you,"
"Did Evelyn die?"
"What? No."
"Since she didn't die, what kept him busy for two days and one night?"
I bluntly asked, "Was he too busy cheating?"
Donald fell silent for a moment and then said, "You have known everything."

We walked to the side of the ear, where Donald took the initiative to open the rear door for me.
Christopher slumped wearily in the seat; his hair disheveled. His eyes were shut tight, his long eyelashes casting a shadow on his eyelids.
Even when he was sleeping, he still furrowed his brow, indicating that he didn't sleep soundly.
As the car interior lights came on, Christopher woke up almost instantly, showing a hint of annoyance at being disturbed. The next second, he saw me.
His countenance momentarily relaxed as he inquired, 'Is the concert over?"
His expression was indifferent, as if deceiving me and spending two days and nights with Evelyn were just my imagination.
I didn't want to pretend anymore. I just said it directly, "The person you saw at the hospital yesterday was me."
"Christopher, I was standing about ten meters away from you at that time, maybe even closer than that.
"I also heard you admit to the nurse that you are her husband."
Pausing for a moment, I stared at him and then said, "Oh, by the way, she's pregnant. You guys have a child now, right?"
The more I spoke, the worse his expression became, but I felt more comfortable.
Watching his unpleasant expression, I smiled and said, "Congratulations, you're going to be a father."
He suddenly reached out and pulled me into the car!
I just realized that Donald gave me an apologetic look and promptly closed the car door.
Christopher pressed my hand against the top of my head. We were so close that I could almost touch his stretching my neck.

1, however, felt not even a hint of ambiguity, only anger.
"Let go of me!"
"No."
Christopher whispered. His broad figure loomed in front of me, exuding a sense of intimidation. "Firstly, I wasn't worried about her."
"Secondly, the situation was urgent at that time, and I couldn't be bothered to explain it to the nurse."
"Third, I didn't intend to deceive or hide anything from you."
He pressed his forehead against mine, staring at me intently, his voice slightly muffled, "I'm just afraid that once you know, you won't want me anymore."

I suddenly felt very heartbroken.
motions
It seemed that he was ery good at playing with even though it had been his fault for me, he always managed to make me feel sorry for him in return. "Maybe I'm a total loser in this relationship."
The car's interior space was cramped, and being confined by him as this put me at a disadvantage, although he was the one who was making an explanation. "Fourthly, Evelyn was pregnant, but it wasn't my child."
I hadn't even had a chance to catch my breath when I saw him staring straight at me, loudly saying, "Fifth, this point is the most important; remember it well."
I furrowed my brows in confusion, but he kissed my forehead and spoke in a firm tone.
"Take back your congratulations; I'll only be the father of the child you give birth to."
My nails suddenly dug deep into the palm of my hand, causing pain, yet keeping me alert.
Suppose he had said that before today, I might have been especially happy. Then I would have shown him the ultrasound report to tell him, "Christopher, you're going to be a dad!" Coincidences and twists of fate, destiny played its games.
Timing was everything; when it was off, nothing seemed right. No matter how hard you tried, no matter how deep the feelings ran, it all amounted to nothing.
Suppressing my bitterness, I glanced at his solemn face and provocatively asked, "What if I was pregnant with another man's child?"
