Watch The Dark

Chapter epilogue

*Two years later*

"We are gathered here today to witness the oath of the new Luna, Tana Rainer," Markus announced, grinning over at Tana who stood in a specifically itchy dress that was used to initiate other Luna's in the past. It was tinkered to be more modern and fitted to Tana, though. In the end it was a white dress with lace sleeves and a see through train behind it. Declan had been pawing at her ever since she put it on. Even as they stood before their pack he didn't seem to be able to take his eyes off of her.

"Tana, do you vow to protect this pack and all of its members for as long as you are in power? To take care of each individual's needs and work to better this pack and it's members?" Markus asked. Tana dipped her head as she had practiced.

"I do. For as long as I am in power," she said.

"Dark Wolves, do you accept Tana Rainer as your new Luna?" Declan asked.

A chorus of 'we do' echoed out across the crowd.

"It is my honour to announce your new Luna: Luna Tana!" Declan called. Cheers erupted from the pack as he pulled her against his chest and kissed her, making her head feel fuzzy even after all that time. When they pulled away, she felt breathless and incredibly euphoric.

"Let's party!" Jade screamed. Tana tipped her head back and laughed.

It was a bit bittersweet without Devon and Tuk around. Devon had discovered that Mara was his mate soon after the battle. The two of them moved back to Devon's old pack to rebuild it after it had officially been removed from the Blood Wolves. He was now the alpha of his pack, but since things had started to get tense over the past few weeks so Tuk had offered to help Devon control some of the infighting. Blood Wolves either joined Devon's pack or became rogues and ran off somewhere, but there had been no serious issues since the war had ended.

"Mommy! Mommy! Rosie and Noah took daddy's phone from me!" Icarus cried, tugging at her dress as she finished chatting to one of the pack warriors.

Sure enough, crouched under one of the outdoor dining tables were Rosie and Noah, giggling and playing on Declan's phone. Erica's newest pup, Nyla, waddled over to them and decided to join in on the fun as well.

Tana walked over to the pups and crouched down to look at the pups.

"Alright, come on, give it back Rosie," Tana said, holding her hand out to the little girl. Frowning, she hesitantly put the phone into Tana's hand and crawled out from under the table with Noah and Nyla.

"Play nice or I'll tell your mom, got it?" She threatened. Rosie's eyes widened and she nodded quickly, racing off with Noah and Icarus following her.

"My beautiful Luna is scaring off children already," someone behind her whispered, wrapping his arms around her waist and peppering kisses over her neck. Tana grinned and rolled her eyes.

"Someone's gotta do it. Besides, they were picking on Icarus again," she murmured. Declan let out a snort.

"You baby him too much," he said.

"Aw, I'm sorry, is the big, bad alpha not getting enough attention?" Tana cooed mockingly. Declan growled playfully and she laughed.

Sincere and Asher were dancing, if it could even be called that. It looked more like they were just jumping around and laughing together, but if she was happy, Tana was happy.

"Come dance with me, mate," Declan said, trying to tug her towards the music.

"I'm not a dancer. You know that," she replied tartly.

"Come on, it'll be fun," he insisted.

"I'll only do this because I like you," she snorted. Declan let out a loud laugh and pressed his forehead to hers as he spun her around.

"I like you, too."

They may not have started out perfectly, but the two of them had grown together to be inseparable. Tana couldn't imagine her life without Declan.

She wouldn't want to, anyway.
