Sabrina was also disappointed. She’d been hoping to act lovey–dovey with Harold before Lucille’s eyes. It looked like it wouldn’t happen.

Still, she pretended to console Lorelei. “Forget it, Lorelei. Lucille’s my sister, after all. Don’t be mad, okay? How about I go shopping with you tomorrow? I heard Silverstar Mall’s just brought in the latest season’s bags.”

Lorelei was immediately distracted by that. She forgot all about Lucille–it was evident bags were the way to her heart.

After a while, Harold, who wore a navy suit, entered the room. Sabrina’s eyes lit up when she saw him, and they looked at each other lovingly.

He was tall, handsome, and gentlemanly. His eyes were filled with tenderness and love as he looked at Sabrina.

Lorelei couldn’t help getting goosebumps at the sight.

Harold sat beside Sabrina and held her hand. He said, “Sorry to keep you waiting. I was with a client earlier.”

She said understandingly, “It’s fine. Your work’s more important. Besides, we didn’t wait long. Still, no matter how busy you are, you have to eat your meals properly, even without me by your side.”

Harold loved how understanding and kind she was. He caressed her head and said, “Okay. I’ll listen to everything you say.”

Lorelei chimed in, “You and Sabrina are a perfect match, Harry. Lucille, the little bitch, is unworthy of you

He frowned at her words, and his expression darkened. Lorelei started telling on Lucille. She said, “We ran into her at the entrance earlier, and she had the audacity to say that we didn’t deserve to eat here. She even threatened Sabrina to stay away from you!

“You two have already called off the engagement, yet she still refuses to leave you alone. God, she’s shameless!” She knew her words had taken effect when she saw Harold’s expression grow uglier. She continued, “Don’t fall for her tricks, Harry. Sabrina’s the one for you.

When Sabrina saw that Lorelei had laid the foundation, she quickly spoke up. “That’s enough, Lorelei. Lucille isn’t like that. Since she’s already agreed to call off the engagement, I’m sure she won’t harass Harry.”

She glanced at him. He said grimly, “Enough of that. Sabrina’s the only one who has my heart, so don’t bring Lucille up in front of me anymore.”

Sabrina and Lorelei had no choice but to keep quiet when they heard that. Sabrina couldn’t help feeling happy because of Harold’s words, while Lorelei continued lapping up their lovey–dovey act.

Still, the atmosphere in the room was somewhat dead compared to the other room. Things were happy and cheery there.

It was 8:30 pm when Lucille and the others finished their meal. Marie refused to allow Lucille and Spencer to drive her back to the sanitorium. She insisted on them arranging for a driver to take her back.

She said, “You two need to spend some time alone and get to know each other better. It’s best if you can conceive soon. I won’t take up any more of your time.”

Lucille was taken aback and rendered speechless. On the other hand, Spencer went along with everything Marie had said. In the end, they had Mack take Marie and Casey back to the sanitorium.

Once they were gone, Lucille and Spencer were left alone in the room. Lucille couldn’t stop her breathing from speeding up when she sensed Spencer’s burning gaze on her.

“Let’s go.” Leaving the place was the only thing she wanted to do. She got up to grab her coat and bag. But before she’d even taken two steps, Spencer pulled her to him, making her sit in his lap. She instinctively rested her hands on his shoulders as they looked at each other up close.

Lucille wanted to get up, but Spencer held her tightly by the waist. She couldn’t move. He warned, “Don’t move, and sit still.”

They were both adults, so Lucille immediately got what he meant. She stiffened, not daring to budge. When he just stared at her without saying anything, she asked, “D–Did you want to say something?”

“Yes!”
