War for Uyrilia

Chapter 15

Chapter 15

Nine months later Liliana lay sleeping, with Jamie in his own bed sound asleep when she heard her brother’s voice.

“Lily, you got to come to the meeting tent.” He said making her open her eyes and look around realizing that he had sent her the sentence in her mind, a new power they had discovered. She sat on the edge of the bed.

“What’s going on?’ She asked but got no response. Sighing she climbed from her bed and dressed quickly before setting a protection spell on the tent and making her way to the meeting tent to find her brother, father, and uncle with Ryan, Alexander, and Maximus talking low.

“What is so important that you wake me up in the middle of the night?” She asked as she walked over and took the paper Jace held out to her.

“We just received it. Apparently that was Erna’s plan.” Jaxton told her. “She has joined with Zinnia and from the reports Robert went with her.”

“I don’t care what the reports say. Robert wouldn’t join unless he had no other choice.” Ryan demanded.

“What could have happened to make him follow her then? There is nothing she could hold over him that would make him follow her to Zinnia.” Maximus told the young man.

“He could be doing it to protect everyone, or he could be getting some information for us.” He argued before Liliana put her hand on his arm to quiet him.

“Ryan does have a point, Rob wouldn’t have just followed. She has to have something she’s using to make him follow her.” Liliana said looking at the paper again. “Let me go find him and talk to him.”

“Liliana, you would be walking right into Zinnia’s hands.” Maximus said looking at her as she looked at her father determined. “Jaxton, this is probably what they wanted. Zinnia has to know they are married and by pulling him away it will make her go to him.”

“I know that.” Jaxton sighed as he began to rub his temples. “I can’t let you go. This is more than likely some plot to get you out in the open to be attacked.” Liliana looked at her father angrily. “I’m sorry, but I won’t risk it.” Liliana stood for a minute before turning on her heels and leaving. “I won’t risk sending her and letting Zinnia getting her. Not until I’m sure she will be protected enough.”

“We know dad and so does Liliana, it’s going to be hard for her but she knows you’re right.” Jace told his father. “I’ll go talk to her.” He turned to comfort his sister knowing that this would be hard for her to handle. “Liliana?” He asked at her tent and saw the large flap open to let him in.

“I know what you’re going to say and you can save it. I know he’s right but we need to figure something out. Jace, I know Rob, I know he wouldn’t just follow her.” She said sitting on her bed.

“I know that too. But we need to take this slow. If we rush in not knowing enough we could risk everything.” He said softly before they were interrupted.

“Mommy?”Jamie asked as he walked over to her. “Is daddy coming home yet?” He asked looking up at her with his father’s gray blue eyes.

“Not yet sweetie. He’s still really busy.” She said softly as she pulled him into her lap.

“Uncle, why you here?”

“I just wanted to talk to your mom for a bit.” Jace smiled trying to fool his nephew, which seemed to work.

“Why don’t you go back to bed and get some more sleep?” Liliana asked and watched him nod before running off to his bed in an adjoining tent. She placed a silence spell between the tents so she and Jace could talk and not worry about Jamie. “If we don’t do something soon, what am I going to start telling Jamie? That his father ran off joining the bad guys and is planning to kill everyone?” She asked Jace who sighed and sat on the bed next to her.

“We’ll deal with it as it comes. For now we’ll just tell; him he’s busy and will be back later.” He looked at his worried sister. “We’ll figure something out. I mean we are the sacred twins who will save everyone.” He said making her smile and shake her head.

“I guess so, but for now on dad will be explaining where Rob is to Jamie. He really misses Rob and me telling him that he’s not coming back… I’m not going to do it.” Jace gave a nod with a smirk before he stood up.

“I agree. Hey, why don’t we go for a walk and find something to eat? The sun is just coming up so it’s not worth going back to sleep.”

“Alright fine but I need to be back before he gets up.” She said with a sigh and looking at the little ‘hall’ like flap connecting the two tents.

“We’ll make sure we get back in time to wire him up and hand him off to dad and Maximus.”

“And they said I was the instigator.” Liliana laughed as the two wandered from the tent to walk the camp in the early morning air.

“Liliana.” Ryan said as he walked over to them.

“You aren’t going back to sleep either?”

“No, I wanted to help make a plan to get you to Robert. I know there’s something going on and you are probably the only person who will be able to find out. I mean my brother and I are close but there are things that he would tell you and not me.”

“So you want to make a plan to get me to him?” She asked making sure she understood them.

“Count me in.” Jace smiled. “What? I’m Aloud to act outrageous sometimes, its acts like that that will never be expected.” Liliana smiled and shook her head.

“It’s nice of you guys but it’s not necessary. I’ll wait a bit and get dad to agree and we will plan then.”

“He won’t agree unless he does something unexplainable.” Jace said making the Ryan glance at each other.

“He won’t let you go even then.” Alexander said looking at Liliana as he walked over to join them. “We just got another report. Robert led troops in to capture and destroy one of our northern bases that only we know about.” Liliana’s eyes went wide as she stared at her old friend.

“When that came in we asked for you and I to go but he said no.” Ryan told her as she looked down trying to stay calm and take small breaths. Jace wrapped a hand around her shoulders and pulled her to him as a few tears slid down her cheeks.

“We’ll figure something out.” He told her. “This is not something Robert would do, no matter what the cost.” They started walking Liliana back to her tent talking softly.

“Let me get Jamie dressed and with dad and then we can start working on something. Jace you should get dad to watch Sylvan too. It will keep him occupied.” She said as he nodded and started towards his own tent to check on his young son still sleeping.

After getting the two children up dressed and ready, they walked to where their father was with his family and friends. The two walked in and smiled at the children ran as fast as they could, colliding into their grandfather’s legs. Jaxton smiled down at them and knelt to talk to them before they ran off laughing to the other men leaving Jaxton to talk to the two parents.

“I am guessing you heard the newest report by now.” Liliana gave a nod. “I don’t want you going and planning anything that will get you into trouble.”

“Why would I do that? You’re right we should wait. But I have one condition.” Jaxton raised his eyebrow in question. “You can start explaining to your grandson where his father is.” She crossed her arms and wore a small smirk when he glanced worried at Jaime.

“He’s asking where Robert is every minute he can. Liliana was able to convince him that Robert was still very busy and couldn’t come home yet, but I don’t know how long that can last.” Jace told his father and watched him nod.

“Don’t worry about these two for now. Just go relax for the day and you can get them back tomorrow morning.” The twin siblings nodded and left to find their two other friends to start talking about their plans that Liliana had told her father she wasn’t planning.

“what’s going on?” Jace asked once he noticed the extra guards walking around.

“Marc just came to talk to Ryan. He said that their mother and brother went crazy and is talking about it now.”

“What? There’s no way!” Liliana started to become angry at all the accusations before she closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths. The others were beginning to worry that with too much more she may begin to make things explode. They stood waiting for ten minutes until Ryan emerged first with Marc behind him. As soon as he set eyes on Liliana, the lust filled his being. Liliana narrowed her eyes and was about to go after him when Jace held her in place and Alexander stepped closer and in front of her.

“I will be in my tent brother, shall you need any assistance.” Marc said glancing at Liliana. The group stood until Marc disappeared before they began talking.

“Let’s go for a walk.” Ryan suggested before they walked with Liliana into the woods for a clam walk.

“What the hell was that all about?” Liliana asked obviously annoyed.

“He wanted to go on a whole story about what happened but none of it made sense. I think this was the plan. My mother knew that Robert was always protecting you like Jace. If she takes Robert away and makes him a traitor that will make Jace focus on the battles and everything leaving you wide open to be taken.” He smirked. “I’m not as slow and retreated as my mother may think.”

“Well she’s got another thing coming if she thinks that will work. We won’t let him get her.” Alexander said. “Besides she’s got her powers.”

“Like that helped last time, when Rob had to beat Marc up and save me. He’s got something going on and has a deal with someone to be able to block my powers without me knowing it.” Liliana said.

“So what are we going to plan? I mean we can’t just disappear.” Ryan said making everyone think.

“Well you can. If we can find where they are you two can head out. I’ll try to stall my dad until last minute, it should stop or at least slow down the men he sends out after you.” Jace smirked making Liliana smile.

“We should plan together more often.” She told him making him chuckle and shake his head.

“I’m not going to be pulled into your little games.” Liliana crossed her arms and looked away as they started on their way back to the camp.

“When do we leave?”Ryan asked.
