Vampire Shadows

Chapter 51

"Ughhhh not again!" I huffed.

I have been trying to teleport back to the gas station I was kidnapped from, but the only place my brain brings me to is my house. And  when I try to teleport out of there I end up in the elves' town. I'm still thrilled that I'm free now and the elves have got their lives back. But this whole teleporting issue is sickening. I think it's because I don't have strong memories of the gas station, maybe that's why I can't.

I really need to find Max and the rest, and let them know that I'm fine. I don't want them risking their lives and our mission for me.

.

I leaned on the wall in my room, It looked exactly like the way we left it last time.

I closed my eyes "everything will be fine, everything will be fine" I hope.

Will Kendra and I live here when this whole shit is over? I don't think I can bring myself to do that after all that has happened. Maybe we'll move to a safer smaller house, one that'll make a perfect home, but that isn't even the question right now, the question is "will this shit be over? Ever?"

I really need to find a way to contact them. I triedmind linking but I think they are too far to get our minds linked.

I have only one option now. That is, trying my best to remember the gas station.

I remember the walls were painted white and a little bit of orange. There were few cars and a lot of trees. But I can't really picture myself there, it's almost impossible.

"Just try Kara, just try"

Just one try.

Closing my eyes and opening them again, I was in the station!

Woooohoooo

But there's no sign of Josh, Max, or Heather. They must have left.

It's around maybe 6 in the morning, the gas station is empty and so is the road.

I ran to the middle of the road and yelled "Maxxxxx" childish? I don't think I have any other option. Getting here was all I thought about, I never imagined that I won't meet them here.

"Kara! Kara!" I turned around to see  who was calling my name, my eyes caught Heather.

"Thank God I found you. I thought you were already at the Prince's castle"

"Where are the guys," I asked, there was no sign of Max or Josh.

"They went to search for you of course. I just decided to come back to the scene of the crime to check, and to my surprise, you are standing here" she said looking at me intently.

"Did they hurt you? Are you fine?" She asked.

"I'm fine. Heather, thank you"

"Alright, let me call the boys and let them know that you are back. At least They'll get their sanity back" she stated and then stayed mute for a few seconds. I assume she's trying to contact them.

"Kara!"  Max said running towards me. He teleported so quickly.

Josh appeared right after him and they all gave me a big warm hug.

"Are you okay?"

"Did they hurt you?"

"How did you get back"

Like that, they kept throwing questions at me, questions I didn't know how to start answering.

"Guys, I think Kara can explain all that in the car. Why don't we get the hell out of here first? They might be able to track us, thanks to all the teleporting" Heather said, making me nod in approval.

.

"So you are trying to tell me that you met a bunch of elves and worked with them to destroy the kidnapper?" Max asked behind the wheel. He was seated with Josh by his side while Heather and I occupied the back seats.

"No, not with all the elves, only one of them, Jeremy. He helped me escape. He also saved the whole town Eldred" I said while I munched on the potato chips I bought before the kidnap.

"So you are trying to say that one vampire took over a whole city of elves? That doesn't sound possible" this time it was Josh. Why does it sound like all I have been trying to explain is just not sinking in their heads? They don't seem to believe me, and they are all acting as if I was going crazy.

"Are you guys trying to say I'm lying?"

"No, the whole just sounds off, well firstly, Elves are extinct. They literally don't exist!" Heather whom I assumed her silence was because she believed me fired.

"No, they are not! I'm telling you, they were cursed and Eldred was…" I stopped. I couldn't speak anymore, cuz if I try, I'll just end up crying.

"Okay, Kara, we believe you," Max said.

"No you don't, it's obvious you don't "

"Well, fine we don't, it's not that easy to believe that Elves still exist, maybe you are mistaking" wtf, did he just say maybe I was mistaking? How am I supposed to make a mistake about such an adventure?

"Yeah, it's not easy for you to believe. But I do remember believing the whole vampire stuffs the moment I found out"

"That's because you saw it with your own eyes. There was clear, vivid proof. So we'll join your elves' boat once we see it. Okay?" Josh muttered.

"Whatever," I said, leaning my head on the window. What bullshit is this? Like why on earth aren't they getting my point!

.

"Guys we are here!" Max said, and I was the first to open my eyes.

Josh and Heather were still sound asleep and I had to tap them awake.

I don't blame them though, they are used to sleeping during the day. And I bet they didn't take a rest when I was missing.

"Holy shit! We really are here!" Heather yelled looking outside the window.

I looked through my window but I couldn't see anything. Just a bunch of trees, rocks, and bushes. The place looked abnormally quiet and there wasn't any sign of life.

"Where are we? Lost in the jungle?" I asked still feeling sleepy. But they didn't seem to be in the mood to explain to me as they all hurried out of the car,  I followed,  judging by their expressions, whatever it is, I'm sure it will be great.

"You still remember it right?" Heather asked Josh.

"I think I can remember it in my dreams girlie."

We were standing in front of a tall, huge rock,  covered with green plant and stuffs like that. It's fascinating, but I still don't see how this is supposed to have anything to do with where we are going.

"Uhm, guys, sorry to interrupt, but I think staring at a big rock and doing nothing but that, is a waste of time. And I'll rather go back to my elves' story"

"Chill, pretty face, As they say, patience is a virtue. You'll see what the excitement is all about. For now, we are just savoring the moment" Josh grinned.

"We are about to blow your mind" he added.

Then they started scraping the grass off the rock. When it was partially clear.

I could see the rock's surface. It isn't smooth as I thought. It had rough mobile particles.

Josh and heather started picking the tiny pieces out and rearranging them.

It was like a big puzzle.

When they were done inserting the particles, the surface became smooth, and then it was followed by a ray of light. It was so bright we had to squeeze our eyes shut. The light was gone and the next thing I saw, as Josh promised, blew my mind.
